Spooky
The mood is there, even if it's only a sound and low lighting, feel like you didn't got the time for msot of what you planned, generally speaking trying something new during a jam is a really ballsy choice, as you'll spend most of the jam trying to learn how to do it, i'd recommend trying a few things before to get familar with the engine ;)
I liked the default wall texture gave the game the feel of being inside a house made of cardboard. Hit a lot of camera and clipping issues though especially around the stairs. It was a good attempt given the time and setup a nice atmosphere.
Pretty atmospheric even though it's a cardboard house :P. Kept expecting a monster to come out so that kept me a bit tense too. Too bad you didn't have time to implement the story but you have a nice base here.
Hey, not bad! You've got the spooky feeling down alright :) Obviously the house feels a bit empty (and there's no door! :) )
Well done!
Oh, I was scared the whole time. You did an amazing job there! I am asking everyone around to play this game too :D
You have something here, I live the idea of keeping the candle alive. Right now it feels empty but keep working on this and I could be a nice game.
@endurion @denis123 @jangamesdev @silkworm-sweatshop @patatenouille @technogoth you guys warm my heart thank you so much :) really giving me motivation to keep working on this iw ould really like to at least put some textures on the walls haha and add the story in!
Creepy! :D i like how light is going inside through the windows and their shapes are visible on the floor. There's one place where there's a hole in the corner of a wall and a ceiling and light is going through while it shouldn't, but that's unimportant. And maybe the candle in Serena's room is a bit unnecessary, dunno if anyone else picked it? That's all i have :D I love both "music" and sound lol. And the idea of candle running short makes nice tense too. I would like to read those parchments, it needs a story for sure ^^
Great atmosphere, you definetly managed to create an horror game and it's a very original idea since I don't recall to ever saw an horror game during a Ludum Dare. It's a shame that you didn't have time to fully complete it (the scroll were a great idea), I will definetly play it again if you upload a POST COMP version. Good job !
Terrifying game! I don't like horror games, and I felt scared going through each door, and every second. The creepy ambient sounds kept me on edge the whole time. Very impressive little horror game for a game jam. My only complaint is that I think that the player is too slow. But that's just my opinion, and I don't really know much about the horror game genre.
At least a cheesy jump scare at the end would be nice, or some random unidentifiable sounds playing in the basement; this way I was not scared at all (having played P.T. day before, maybe it's not the best time now to give subjective opinions about horror games, but it is what is). Being in a dark room and a house without lights doesn't make the game a horror game. It is impressive that you did this all from scratch tho.
I only found the locket and I'm not sure how to use the notes. Good game overall! The candle is cute and the moonlight seems great
