Nice graphics, story and music great entry

antaresvaldemar 2020-04-21 03:06

Very nice atmosphere and sense of humour!

kosmo 2020-04-21 03:08

The graphics and audio were both good and the underlying mechanics seemed to work well enough. I had an issue though where the game window (html5 on itch) was not large enough to fit the whole game window and it was difficult to read conversations.

tomeks 2020-04-21 03:14

What a nice graphics, really good entry much better than some of the crap on steam <3

cogh 2020-04-21 07:21

good bit of fun. really disappointed that it wasn't finished/the stability wasn't there cause I was really enjoying the atmosphere.

also this world is hella depressing. not only did my wife and children starve, but they were murdered the very next day :(

good fun stuff, looking forward to seeing a finished game if it happens

simin 2020-04-21 07:26

I love the humor, art and general atmosphere. Honestly I hope you continue the project after the jam! I think there's some serious potential in this one.:)

epicload 2020-04-21 07:28

The atmosphere is great and I enjoy the story in your game!

jrf 2020-04-21 13:55

Really polished entry. The graphics and music were great and the atmosphere good! I liked the minigames and sneaking around neighbours' homes was exciting. Ended up shot by one though…

incinious 2020-04-22 02:04

Very cool game idea. Loved the atmosphere and artwork. The collisions were a bit glitchy, and got stuck a few times. Also wasn't super clear on "how" to survive. Bought a mask but couldn't work out how to use it. Overall really enjoyed the game. Good job!

spookyfish 2020-04-22 14:35

@kosmo Thank you for the feedback, we have fixed the issue. @cogh Thank you for playing our game, truth is, we had some minor bugs that only got discovered recently. They are fixed now, do you want to try one more time? About the depressing world, that was kind of our tone since the beginning, but there're some fun bits here and there too! @incinious Thank you for playing. We have fixed all the bugs and inconvenience you listed. Do you want to try our game again?

spookyfish 2020-04-22 14:38

And a huge thank to you guys for playing and enjoying our game @petitpois @antaresvaldemar @tomeks @simin @epicload @jrf. We really appreciate your kind words.

merlinnsound 2020-04-22 20:26

Good mixture of seriousness und black humor. Unfortunately I got killed by the neighbor two times and I had no motivation to try it again from the beginning. Really interesting idea!

ricefarmerlenin 2020-04-23 01:44

Very interesting game. I noticed that the story starts only after I lost/finished a game once.

aj-jones 2020-04-23 02:51

Nice work, plays really cleanly and didn't encounter any bugs, nice art as well!

edz123 2020-04-23 02:55

Super great. Loved the mystery, pixel art, music, and most importantly, the cybertruck. Definitely one of the most polished games I've seen so far.

bitpokit 2020-04-23 03:00

Terrific art and animations! I especially love the little coughing animations! Great music too! Awesome job!

christopher-wong 2020-04-23 03:07

Very interesting game, I really enjoyed that graphics but I had trouble understanding what I am suppose do and I was killed by my neighbor twice.

vawer 2020-04-23 03:15

I really enjoyed this game. It weirdly reminded me of papers please in the way where your decisions during the day affect your next day and your ability to continue. I got a weird crash when attempting to enter the neighbor's house on the right side during day 3: I had a mask and was infected, and I think I had bought groceries too. Other than that, my experience was very smooth and I was very invested in the little story. Great job on this one!

morandigame 2020-04-23 03:28

I love the music and the the graphics, however I had trouble figuring out what can I do, especially with regard to the colleage. He/She didn't seem to show up.I end up infecting everyone twice~

valeth2124 2020-04-23 04:47

Thanks for all of your feedbacks! @merlinnsound His pattern is quite easy to guess, but there are many other endings for you to explore :D @ricefarmerlenin Woah I thought we fixed the dialogue bug :o we will double check to make sure players get the story @aj-jones Thank you very much! Honestly thought there would be a lot more bugs tho... But your game is quite epic! Good to hear your thoughts on mine. @edz123 The cybertruck was a humorous feature, but in the end we decided to keep it anyway ^_^ @bitpokit The coughing was intentionally made subtle so player will catch the virus unexpectedly :DD @christopher-wong Indeed you are right, our guidance wasn't clear enough, but still you made it to the neighbor's house :)) There is a way to kill him tho... @vawer The mask won't prevent you from being infected, it only lowers your vulnerability zone, and we will take note of that bug during day 3 also :o . Good to hear your constructive feedback, hope you had fun exploring our games ^_^ @morandigame The colleague won't show up, initially we would've elaborated another ending if you chose to stay with her, but time wasn't sufficient you only make the choice and we skip you to day 4 :))

vawer 2020-04-23 05:09

@valeth2124 Sorry, my wording was probably not the best. I understand how the mask works, I was just stating what I had at the time of the crash so you guys can try to reproduce.

havok06 2020-04-23 05:11

The game felt quite polished. I did not always understand what I was supposed to do, but I imagine this was to encourage exploration.

Thanks for the game.

lakrits 2020-04-23 06:05

Seems quite busy even though it's been a 10 years long pandemic (I assume).

I died in the darkness of my neighbour's house, don't know from what. Maybe a NPC was in the dark spot?

I got a message meeting someone downtime but I couldn't find her, maybe I went to the wrong place.

oune 2020-04-23 06:19

Interesting take on the theme. The game is well polished with make it an nice experience. Two points that could be further improved in my opinion: - The main character feels very slowly. - When starting the Webgl version not in full screen, half of the discussion texts are cut off.

Thanks for the game and keep it up

darksylvok1 2020-04-23 16:28

Interesting game. I need to try it again later. Cool use of the theme. Just one thing, when i was shooted, i could move the player when he is dead.

Thanks!

vladlawrence 2020-04-23 17:10

Definitely great work! it was fun to explore the game world and i really enjoyed the playing) unfortunately i didn't find how to use mask) maybe i should pay it more a bit later!

Also i think i found a new ending) At my first try, right neighbor and i killed each other at the same moment and the game just left me to watch on two bodies:D So i had to reload game)

conor-galvin 2020-04-23 18:06

Wow, nice work. First of all the art and narrative is fantastic. The level of detail in some of the assets and the overall scenes/houses look really great.

Some points though: - It's not very clear you're meant to interact with the text screens to continue (I thought it had broken until I started clicking trying to work out what happened) - If you click mid-text it finishes the sentence but then plays the rest of the clicking audio clip - the text is quite small and hard to read, especially with the font.. - I think there could be more direction given to players in the actual game. The small pieces of text at the start is great, but once that's gone it's kinda unclear what you're meant to be doing because no other indicators are given to you. - When I walked into someone's house they were just continually doing 360 spins until I walked up to them and got shot immediately

Overall though, a super fun and challenging little game. The different endings is also a sweet little bonus. Nice job!

svenerik 2020-04-25 06:36

What a nice game, great narrative and art indeed. The text size could have been a bit larger. Overall an excellent job~

dubdisk 2020-04-25 06:52

This is an interesting game with its compelling story. Well done!

jcourt 2020-04-25 07:08

I really like the art and music, as well as the whole concept, although in some places I think it might be good to give the player a bit more direction (specifically about the colleague - I never actually figured out how to meet them)

amazura 2020-04-25 07:44

neat game! spend my time a lot in this game. looks well polished, really love the arts and music, nice story too. good work!

giulia 2020-04-25 07:56

Your game seems to me well structured, polished and full of details. Art and sound are on point and the experience is really pleasant and challenging. Very impressive!

doritolord 2020-04-25 08:25

i'm gonna start with the obvious: loved the graphics, the atmosphere and the idea. i played two times and i died in the neighbours house twice, and i'm quite sure he didn't see me (especially the second time). dunno maybe it's a bug, maybe i'm bad at the game. also how do i use the mask that i bought? was there an items menu?

despdair 2020-04-25 14:00

Game is good in most aspects. The market section did not work for me though, even I pressed f in front of market it just repeated main music. And then when I was trying to enter second building when they locked doors, game crashed with below log. rextgun 2020-04-25 19:17

Really cool what you and your team was able to accomplish during the ludum dare! overall it was pretty fun but i did notice some big design problems (please take this with a grain of salt as i played the executable version, i also played the browser but because of lag i stopped half way, im playing on a old machine because my newer one broke). its VERY unclear as to what you should or even can do, alot of the time i just walked into downtown because it felt like there was nothing else i could do. minigames (especially the burger flipping one) seem to conflict with the story. if a player is playing just for the minigames they will see the story as a drag to get through and if a player plays for the story they will see the minigames as just in the way, keeping them from their real fun. the best way to fix this would be to make story elements into minigames and minigame elements into story ones, you actually kind of did this with having to keep social distancing when going to downtown. it was gameplay that directly influenced the story so whether you were playing for the gameplay or the story you got service on both ends from those sections. i hope you will take that into consideration and cant wait to see what direction your team takes it! you did alot of amazing things with multiple resources to manage and consider ontop of all your actions (aside from flipping burgers) having real consequences great job!

valeth2124 2020-04-26 06:08

Thanks for all of your feedbacks! We've actually realized our main problem was the fact that we lack clear instructions and direction for new players, hence leading to quite a bit of confusion of what to do inside the game itself! We've updated the black dialogue screens to give you a bit more details and advice, as well as multiple possibilities you can explore, but from then on, we want you to know that however you play is okay in our game, we emphasize both gameplay and story-wise elements. Again, all of the comments have made significant contribution to our game. We hope you enjoyed it well, know that I'll also playtest your games and enjoy them likewise ^_^

valeth2124 2020-04-26 06:16

@havok06 @rextgun @despdair @doritolord @giulia @amazura @jcourt @dubdisk @svenerik @conor-galvin @vladlawrence @darksylvok1 @oune @lakrits My gratitude to you all !!!

abdurrahman-khallouf 2020-04-26 11:20

hello. thanks for telling me about your game. I like the idea, and I like struggling games...like cartlife but my experience was kind of broke.

the first play through I got killed when I tried to steal my neighbor... restart second play through there was this creep wanting to attack my family. I didn't want to leave home but I couldn't stay. it told me it is too early to sleep.

so I go out, ask the neighbor for food. and cooked it. still too early to sleep. nothing to do. I got into the car and back immediately because I don't think I have any money why risk getting infected.

I know its a short Jam game but I have some suggestions... make a little bit clearer on how you get money.

make the run more interesting on it self (I felt like you have to die and learn then you can value your choices more because you know what to expect)

but this is good entry with really nice art.

nakami 2020-05-01 11:02

Nice entry as other say the lack of clear instruction is a bit frustrating I restart a dozen of times x)

After a while I would have like to move a bit faster on the way to loot my neighbors. As (is it a bug that) I can go steal my neighbor food and money multiple times the same night ? Also I try it once, but if you kill every one on the way to market to not being infected and being a monster there seams that there no consequences ?

turritom 2020-05-01 11:25

pretty mature game for this short time. i got caught breaking in first. And hey, is that a cybertruck?

balgorode 2020-05-01 16:11

Nice game! Though I myself found it really hard, maybe that's just cause I bought a gun and killed everyone I saw. Then I had to beg for food everyday until my family died of starvation... xD Though I never did find that colleague.

Anyway, I think some things could have been more clear, like what actions take time. Sometimes for me going inside then back out would make it night, but I'm not sure why, and that cost me my family. But great work on the story, graphics, sound and minigames, which btw were a great addition. Overall, nice work!

szupinek 2020-05-03 14:46

Nice concept. Game by itself seems pretty fun, but I run into plenty of problems along the way. The biggest one was that after buying some medicine to heal myself, I was infected right when I got out of the market. Slight bummer, because I was on the 4th day, and probably I would survived. Other than that, game as a concepts seems really promising, it's definitely longer than usual entries (+well put story, sounds and graphics), so really big props for that from me. (* ̄▽ ̄)b

cobear25 2020-05-04 15:53

Great game, lots of polish and detail!

pee-thief 2020-05-04 16:45

very hard, impressive amount of work done here

gameovermexico 2020-05-04 16:49

Good job,the feet of the characters disappear and in some scenarios some objects with which you interact inside the house, this great that has a tesla outside his house.

fabula-rasa 2020-05-04 17:14

Very nice music and pleasant graphics! When it came to the world design, I didn't like forced invisible walls - broke immersion quite a bit. Consider putting some elements there that would be naturally impassable for the player (road works, thick bushes, high walls, unexplained rifts in asphalt ;) etc.)

I found it pretty hilarious that the child of my character has a name but the wife is simply "the wife". I can feel the love in this marriage already .

The story is pleasant and branches out nicely. Good job on that! Although I don't really appreciate your choice of theme (it's not like we need yet more pandemic reminders, I have quite enough outside my window). But that is just my personal opinion. And I found things that gave me pause - like when I come back home to a murdered wife and child, yet there is zero reaction from my character. He just keeps going like nothing happened, even leaves them there on the floor. I guess he can just get another "the wife", but son he did name  I know it's all on jam time and you can't expect polish but still - this felt bad. There is overall lack of consequences to many of your actions. You can shoot everyone and nothing (well, you will have much easier time going to the store, but that's it). And in a story-based game, that feels bad as well.

Text itself also needs some work, I ran into several writing mistakes.

It is a solid jam game overall.

awerar 2020-05-04 17:32

Nice game. The graphics were especially cool I think. It's impressive how much you managed to do during weekend. It did feel a bit slow to walk around though, but that might just be that I'm impatient. Well done!

paul-giovannini 2020-05-04 18:05

Really nice game, kind of a Eathbound vibe ! There is a lot of things to do, that's an amazing job in only 72 hours!

jamesolivermusic 2020-05-05 10:38

The graphics are cute. I liked the scrolling text effect as well. A few things I noticed while playing.... Variety needed in the music as well as some further mixing with the synths, there is a hissing sound in the home music which is a little overbearing with headphones, and maybe balance the parts a little better. I felt that giving clearer instructions as to the objectives would have been nice, knowing what we could interact with etc. Invisible walls are very frustrating. Why not create a physical obstacle to help guide players? I noticed some grammatical errors in the text... "you has been infected" for example... I don't think the pandemic theme is a particularly good choice, considering that many people who might be participating in this jam could be affected by the current climate, as some have mentioned above. this will discourage some people, including myself, from playing it, those of us who don't want to be reminded about it. It's good that you've come up with multiple endings and a story of sorts, but the character doesn't really react to anything. Good effort getting this together in a short amount of time.

derek-volker 2020-05-06 00:17

While i really liked the artstyle of the game and the playstyle, i really don't like the theme at all. I know people have different approach regarding the current events, but that is not mine.

The music is good but a bit repetitive, but what i really found interesting is the quantity of content developed in one weekend. The graphics are really nice. Congrats on your game!

lectvs 2020-05-06 05:37

Cool entry, and interesting gameplay! I love the art style too.

theaidency 2020-05-06 05:40

Woah, beautiful concept and wonderful execution. There's a lot of stuff made for and in a weekend! Would love to see more in the future, keep me posted if you decide to make this into a full project.

vernalbehemoth 2020-05-06 13:51

Impressive amount of work has gone into this well done! I liked the story line and enjoyed the different characters and the way the interactions were handled. The multiple endings were great to have in the game.

I enjoyed that there was a bit of variety around the game play (sneaking through the neighbors house and running around town without being infected or just shooting everyone to make sure).

I think the game was a little slow and as you were not 100% sure what you should be doing this made the issue worse. It meant that you found yourself wondering around the game a lot and this became frustrating and detracted from the enjoyment of the game.

The audio and sound FX were nice and worked well, maybe a little more variety on the backing track but other than that the audio was good.

I can see how this game could have been a little adventurous to fit within the 72 hour time frame and it is really impressive what you managed to come up with! Nicely done.

convg 2020-05-06 13:55

Nice game. That's a really interesting idea, and well executed and polished. The graphics look cool. It would be nice if the instructions were a bit clearer, and while I acknowledge that you were trying to let the player do their own thing to a degree, I still feel that more instruction would be helpful. Overall, really nice entry. Good job!

yxmx-rsx 2020-05-07 03:10

Nice game well done

n-feofentov 2020-05-07 06:14

I wish I had a map or something to better navigate through world. Also I don't quite understand why would I break into someones houses if I have a plenty of furniture at home to sell if I'm so poor. Nevertheless, good job!

andidebob 2020-05-07 11:25

A really ambitious project for a gamejam. You did a really good job, but I feel like the game was a bit hard. It is essentially impossible to go downtown without getting infected. I bought medicine and a mask and as soon as I left the store I was infected again. I then procdeeded to cook a nice meal for my family which was a cool minigame. Then I went out to make sure everything is safe. Obviously I broke into my neighbours house who immediately shot me.

I might go back and play it again, but I do think you could tweak the difficulty a bit.

Otherwise this is a really solid game! Well done!

naamed 2020-05-07 11:33

Quite impressive what you've gotten together in the timeframe given. Minor text load bugs on the html version (shop screen displays half of the text outside vision, text flickers when in your home) but that's prob due crummy laptop resolution.

the-missing-bracket 2020-05-07 11:48

the music and atmosphere made it good for me

black-flag 2020-05-07 12:34

Really good game! I liked how it goes from this cute family based game, to what is on its own a cool little stealth game (when you are burgling)! The pixel art graphics were also very nice, and good job for making it topical lol! The music was good but maybe a few more foley sound effects could have been good, for example the cars that go past you on the street could make a sound. Overall, I really enjoyed playing, and its an amazing jam entry!

nelson-william 2020-05-07 13:53

I really enjoyed how this game felt like its own little world, a lot of jam games can't do that. I did have some trouble with the difficulty, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. A very solid entry, congratulations to everyone. :)

ausstein 2020-05-07 14:28

Really cool Story and artstyle as well as many details. Lots of complexity for such a short time. However, the movement was soooo slow, moving from one place to another felt like a chore rather than having fun playing a game. This is very unfortunate. I would have played this a couple more times after I initially died, but for me this is unfortunately a deal braker :( Let me know If you release a post-LD version with faster movement I would very much like to play that!

thibaud-ligneul 2020-05-08 10:15

Good idea. I didn't manage to survive very long however, and the slow pace prevented me to try more than a couple times... Would've like to see what content I missed

joamd 2020-05-08 13:10

Really nice game, good sounds and graphics, good player movement too. I found out how to not get infected by not walking near a person who is coughing but then, I didnt know how exactly the time passed in game, later I guess I realised it must be through activities like cooking and going downtown rather than walking around. There are a few ambiguities tho; when exactly to feed family to avoid them starving to death. Also after stabbing the right side neighbour's house, I was able to collect food and 20 bucks daily at night. And also it wasnt apparent when the market downtown was closing

aryanjumani 2020-05-08 14:31

Really nice story! Reminded me of the old pokemon games, mainly Fire Red and Emerald Green. Could not believe that the audio was made with Bosca Ceoil until i went to C-mart, then the Bosca Ceoil effect came in. It was a 5/5 in every category for me! Loved the game!

stolen-biscuit 2020-05-08 14:50

Cool game! Great graphics and very topical.

tunahead 2020-05-08 15:58

Very nice Game, a really good atmosphere and it got me hooked for a while! The Art is really beautiful :) Although the sound is sometimes crackleling...

I thought the Streets where a bit to large. So either make it smaller or make it so that the Player moves alot faster.

Other than that, a nice Game.

After I bought a Gun it felt a bit like Postal :D

mineiwik 2020-05-08 16:41

Nice pixel art and a very nice game! Well done

jmad 2020-05-08 17:59

I don't really know where to begin after playing... am a bit at a loss for words. Loved the pixel art style, palette was pleasing, animations well done. Really good graphics. The music was nice as well - just the sound made during cooking time was a bit too loud and sharp. Gameplay intuitive and comfortable.

Then there's the story. The choice you went for in the current situation seems quite horrendous to be honest, and my teeth were gritting all the way. Going too far on many many occasions. I see couple comments saying they liked the humour, I have no idea where there even was humour. Story made no sense at times, contradicting itself. Starts off saying my family is starving, I go grocery shopping, then it says my family *might* be hungry. My family was dead, no reactions at all from me, yet they still thanked me for the meal I cooked?! And then story goes on talking about them as if they were alive. Everyone has a name except my wife?! Ran into a bothersome issue several times were the text would skip on its own, and I couldn't even read. Like at the end, I have no idea what happened, but everyone was dead apparently. And these are just a few of the things I thought were a big no-no. I really disliked playing.

Am impressed at the amount of content you managed to put together, though. There were couple great gameplay ideas, like dodging people downtown, and interacting with neighbours.

zebraatomica 2020-05-08 18:13

I Really enjoyed the game! It's really nice in overall so i'll just directly point out everything that came to my mind.

Coughing is always to the left, not where character is facing, Pharmacy could be one store to the right. I got infected while inside the pharmarcy after buying medice. While trespassing, neighbours could stop for a little time before turning. Typing sound for speeches could have some variants. Missed some direction Plates in street and store recognition.

That's all! Really liked how you guys did everything and i got hooked up right from the start!

alphaq 2020-05-08 18:33

Loved the graphics and gameplay! Very fun game

Really like the mood of your game - a normal world which goes crazy. Pixel art is great here. Music is good. But it lacks some choices that someone would make. How am I supposed to stay at home to protect my family if I want to? As far as I understood - there is no way to do that. That leads to misunderstanding. More confusion is built up by saying something about my already murdered family. If you polish this triggers we will see strong story based game.

Great game with nice graphic style.

Eu ainda estou jogando. Parei apenas para colocar a imagem para comentar depois (sobre o corte na tela).

I'm still playing. I stopped just to post the image for later comment (about the cut on the screen).

Still trying... @.@

Observação: Não sei o motivo, mas o sprite responsável pelo topo do móvel do abajour some quando estou fora do quarto ou algo assim (como é possível ver na imagem).

Note: I don't know why, but the sprite responsible for the top of the lamp's furniture disappears when I'm out of the room or something (as you can see in the image).

Analysis...

1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow: I found it quite interesting to have to survive during a pandemic crisis. Take care of my family (shopping, food, protection, emotional support, etc.). Including the lines (although cut in my browser) very interesting and revealing the fears that people feel. I wish there was a way to do work to get money (even from the Internet); or in another way of getting money (in addition to committing crimes). I thought it was bad that there were only people without a mask on the street (hahahahahah, I felt like the rest were ignorant of this possibility). I also didn't think it was cool that I got sick for no apparent reason (I avoided contact as much as I could, even when ringing the neighbors' bell. I tried to save my "humanity" by not committing crimes the second time I played (the first time I died experiencing the scenario invading a home). Well, I couldn't save my humanity. Hahahahah. Nor did my family (who died very early, although this did not interfere with the amount of food I spent). Learning to play was easy, I believe the game is very intuitive in that sense. There are some doors in the city that did not allow any kind of interaction (it is your team's choice not to give feedback even though there are doors). When someone "called" me to the city center to talk, I went, but I didn't find it. Was there anyone waiting there? The game flow seemed balanced, even though I lost a few times, I recognize that I lost because I didn't sacrifice some points of view.

2 - Graphics, Audio and Narrative: The game has a lot of quality content for the short time of the event, so I start by congratulating you. The graphic art was very beautiful. The songs may sound repetitive at times (after playing a lot), but I found them very good and appropriate. The music even matched both the day and the night, in my view. The narrative was very interesting, I just thought it failed in some branches. To the example of something written saying that the wife and son liked the food and such (since they were dead). Another somewhat confusing thing was that they complained about some things that apparently I couldn't solve (maybe it was the tip for me to buy a gun). As in my country it is kind of strange, I was also surprised to sell weapons in the same place where I bought food. Hahahahahah. If the stores were separated, it might be more interesting and diverse to have a city to explore.

3 - Culture: The game talks a lot about the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in the world. Despite being illustrated by another crisis, perhaps not the same. Taking care of a home, making food, taking care of the family, making difficult (but real / possible) choices. The psychological/narrative atmosphere was very interesting (even considering some displaced lines, already mentioned before, nothing relevant, something that can be corrected if the group continues the project after the game jam).

4 - Monetization: I think the game would sell in a polished state and with some more narrative ramifications. Who knows in chapters on the smartphone (with some free and others paid); who knows how to complete a game on Steam (with more days to survive and some check-points).

Congratulations.

It felt so natural to be avoiding people while outside, haha. Overall really good. I got to day 4 but then died from trespassing in an empty room. Wasn't too sure how that happened, and I felt a bit cheated after making it that far. But you have a lot of content in here and I was impressed with how much there was, so good job.

emperor-eagle 2020-05-10 05:27

Great effort! Good atmosphere in the neighbourhood and town areas, and a nice cooking mechanic! (I liked the night time lighting in the neighbourhood too, and the atmosphere of being in a pandemic shows best in your neighbourhood area, so well crafted!) Well made and it feels like you've done some polishing. Some more tutorial/hints would be a good addition. I felt a great sense of depth to the game with the story, dialogue, and various activities! Hence, it had a very good amount of content! Great story and a great effort! Well done!

velvetlobster 2020-05-10 06:17

I absolutely love the art in this and the thing with the minigames is just very well polished! I think this has a lot of narrative potential that perhaps has not been explored in here, perhaps bringing more subtle themes of our state of isolation, perhaps little changes in the way the minigames work would convey some deeper feelings that go a bit further from the obvious so to say ... about the art, it is very pleasant to look at and the color choice brings a kinda old school vibe to it, feels a bit like mother3 perhaps ... there is a subtle creepy vibe to it too that makes me wanna come back to it.

arity 2020-05-10 06:36

Interesting story, good art and sound design, had a hard time understanding the various goals and systems though. The overall game design could use some more work IMHO. Overall, solid entry!

lazzydev72 2020-05-10 06:43

Well done love the idea. It is well executed the game feels polished which makes is fun to play. And love the art style too. Well done keep it up :thumbsup_tone1:

lazzydev72 2020-05-10 06:43

I post this one by mistake

alexander-wayne 2020-05-10 08:18

Hi, I played the HTML5 version, and it was rather glitchy. First of all, the resolution did not fit the window, so I had to go fullscreen to actually play the game. Also when I first arrived in the house, the dialogues got kinda wonky like if several windows tried to write over each other.

Apart from the bugs, I really like the game, the story was really nice, the gameplay comfortable, and overall the game seems really polished and finished (how did you do that?! :D ), I hope you make more games like this one! Great job c:

fatpenguin 2020-05-10 11:16

A pretty cool game with an interesting storyline :D I especially liked the "personal space circle" that indicated when you're about to get infected if you were close, made for a cool avoiding aspect! The story itself was fun, although I always ended up getting killed by the neighbour, haha. I feel like if I bought the gun I should be able to shoot him :P And then I can feed the body to my family or something xD (but I guess there wasn't enough time? :P) The mechanics were interesting, also the options at the shop :) I think this would be really cool if you'd continued to work on this and make it so ther's like 2 time slots you dobefore it's evening and you also have a job where you earn money and you can choose to work 2 shifts or none at all, and risk getting fired or overworked or something :D A cool idea and an interesting gameplay, mood was also great, good job! :)

mikdionio 2020-05-10 13:19

Fun game with great graphics and interesting mechanics! I did however feel a bit lost. I could have used some indicators as to the food levels so I know when to need food. The music in downtown also felt a bit out of place for a pandemic going on. Also, I found a bug where I got infected while buying at the store

stuembi 2020-05-10 15:05

lovely graphics and cool take on the idea! Great story telling even though there are e few grammar mistakes here and there. in some places, especially brighter colored ones, the text that tells you to interact with something is hard to read as it is white. also i have one question, where does the kid sleep? overall great entry! yall can be proud

adam-clayden 2020-05-10 15:41

Nice game with lots of assets and content for such a short period of time. Good job! To help with atmosphere I reckon it'd be good to have the odd cough and at first I wasn't completely sure how to use the medicine. I felt like I bought it and got infected instantly, so that could do with some balancing. Game was good though!

noamraz 2020-05-10 16:44

wow! like it very much!

eduardogacn 2020-05-10 19:15

The game is interesting, the graphics are awesome and the audio is fine.

I don't know if you could walk faster or run in the game.

Anyway, good job

slotha 2020-05-11 01:04

Awesome Job! I know firsthand what its like making a game with multiple endings in a jam, and I can say you did an absolutely fantastic job! the collisions felt a bit weird, but besides that Amazing Job! The are and music are amazing!

gelgavish 2020-05-11 18:25

I really like this game! The art style is great and so as the audio :) I had a really fun time playing this although I got to only one ending (I might try to unlock the other endings later) :(

The only issue I had with this game is that when I got the letter from that girl I went downtown and she wasn't there, or maybe it's just me.

But anyway, I'm really impressed by the amount of content you guys managed to add in such a short time, not even considering the art, amazing job :D

patrickjr 2020-05-12 03:01

Great game. The graphics are beautiful and so is the audio. I think the movement is kinda slow though. It was funny to buy the gun and just shoot those random people in the street. I like the death sound they make.

drprettypatty 2020-05-12 03:32

hmm. i don't think i played it right

tony-artz 2020-05-12 03:52

Honestly I have no words to describe this masterpiece. Before I go into other things, first kudos to the sound designer, I literally spent almost half an hour just at the menu enjoying the song. each and every piece of the soundtrack was beautiful. The art-style and animations were really great. The story revolving around a pandemic and its real life parallels with the current situation was quite good. Story was deep and it had one of the best storyline and music I have seen in a game jam. I could go on and on probably for eternity on how well made this game is but lets cut this short since others have already mentioned what I wanted to. Also just wondering will you ever release the soundtrack on somewhere like Spotify or Youtube or anywhere else? I really love listening to these.

dxk2294 2020-05-12 06:07

Wow - what a crazy ambitious game for a LD submission! I loved the art style and the music, and you folks established the mood perfectly (though I gotta admit, a game about a pandemic during a pandemic is a little too depressing for my taste). I echo many of the previous commenters, that the amount of content here is admirable. My biggest complaints are that I feel the walk speed is way too slow, and the player is left with very little direction at the beginning. Still, it was a ton of fun to explore and see where the story went. Awesome job!

alex-adedge 2020-05-12 13:46

An ambitious game, having so much narrative and multiple endings! I really dig it. Also great that I had a cybertruck haha. Some gross coughing/sneezing/sniffing sounds around people would have added to it tho.

doot 2020-05-12 14:28

Great job! This is very very ambitious. The art and music and sounds are all very very good. The narration works well. It is a bit sad to be put in a classic genre stereotype of "man defending woman and children", but other than that it is pretty well written and disturbing. Thanks for the game and great job again!
