I love the character's face, haha. Great entry.

I love the character's face, haha. Great entry.
The graphics in this game are very polished! It felt way more polished than the average jam game. The gameplay was fun too, I found it pretty well balanced. One problem: the dark hole upgrade is really bad, I lost at the last wave because of it... Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing this, congratulations.
Very nice game. I usually don't like puzzles (too hard for my little brain), but this one was really pleasant and easy to understand. Had some trouble with the last level but it was just me overthinking... Here's some feedback:
* Pixelated fonts are hard to read when they're very large on a large screen. * Since the trees are 2-tiles tall, it takes a little longer to grasp their impact in the game. Maybe some smaller bushes (i.e. same size as rocks) would make them easier to comprehend. * Keeping track of the 'time left to burn' on each tile is pretty much impossible. A small counter over each flammable tile would really help.
Anyway, very nice game. Congrats!
Thank you, guys! :)
Thank you everyone for the insightful messages.
I agree that the difficulty is a bit off. I wish I had time to program more rules about how cards are drawn, to avoid having too many or too few towers. Also, different card types should've been indicated more clearly, probably with tags like 'Build', 'Upgrade' and 'Spell'. And when placing new buildings, the new path should be indicated.
Maybe I'll fix those things and possibly add more content if I have time. :)
I really enjoyed how this game felt like its own little world, a lot of jam games can't do that. I did have some trouble with the difficulty, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. A very solid entry, congratulations to everyone. :)
I like the graphics. The mechanic is simple but fits the theme well, and the levels were easy to get. I had a few issues with the input being a bit delayed. But anyway, nice entry. :)
I really love how this feels like an arcade that could actually exist.
It took me a while to understand what was happening... But it is a neat idea. The graphics and audio are cute and I enjoyed the dialogue. I just wish the game itself was a bit more clear, but a nice entry nonetheless! :)
I just played the jam version of it (for fairness :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:). I enjoyed playing it for quite some time. It's pretty relaxing and simple. The descriptions are cute but whoever added the 'garlic shake' should be banned from Ludum Dare! It did get boring after some time, since it's a lot of the same happening multiple times. Also, I couldn't understand a word from Dano in the opening dialogue. Anyway, this was a pretty great entry, congrats!
I really like how the sunlight/shade mechanic works, neat!
Graphics are very pretty, I enjoy the style (although it did lag on my notebook). My main concerns were the camera/perspective and the collision. The perspective made jumping very tricky, but I guess that was the challenge. Also, the player sometimes gets stuck in corners/walls. Anyways, the mechanic itself is great and the game showed a great deal of polish. Nice entry, congrats!
The idea is very cool, I enjoyed the concept of feeding the beast. However, the beast felt too disconnected from the game. Maybe it could've player a bigger role. Also, the chainsaw seemed quite under-powered to me, specially due to the huge number of enemies. Anyway, congrats on making a game with this kind of scope, it's pretty bold.
I wish there was a better contrast between the characters/projectiles and the background, since it can be quite harsh on the eyes. Anyway, it is quite fun and I loved the boss's purple cage.
The atmosphere and graphics are indeed very nice. It's very polished for a jam game! Great submission.
The shooting twist really makes the Tetris-like gameplay more fun!
@Tiberiusuciu It's a bug with Chrome, sorry for that.
Thanks, @jamesolivermusic. It's a bug with Chrome, sorry for that. The sea becomes acid in the last level (5), so it would be hard to beat the game without protecting the tiles.
The concept is very funny, to bad it can't be played for very long ;p
This is surprisingly good! I really like the graphics and the mood overall is really great. The mechanics are very interesting.
This is a very nice concept! The dagger gets a little finicky sometimes but that's forgivable. It's really fun to play.
Cute! Also, it feels really neat when you get multiple balloons.
Thank you so much guys
@a333 Yeah, when I listened to that song it just felt like a perfect match. ;P
@morriss It should tell you in the victory screen ;)
@ursagames Yeah, I watched it now. Thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you liked it. I wish it was longer too :stuck_out_tongue:
Thank you everybody for voting, I'm really impressed by the results. I'm glad y'all enjoyed it :)
Nice. I just wish the sentences weren't cut off sometimes. Anyway, RIP.
Probably the best game I've seen so far in this LD. I would totally play a full version of this. Congratulations!
I reeeally loved the graphics! I feel like I'm playing a SNES game and even the gameplay supports that kinda (which may be bad for some people, but I like). Loved it :)
Very nice graphics, I just wish there were more contrast between foreground and background. Also, the enemy projectiles sometimes blend with the orange-y parts of the background. But overall a very nice game :)
Yeah, a restart button should've been a must for a game like this.
Is it only playable with a gamepad?
I agree, it's pretty hard to judge when is the right time to duck/jump. Maybe more feedback there would help. I liked the graphics, it's a nice style.
I like the graphics, they're simple in a good way. Specially UI. I also liked the sounds.
The concept is pretty neat but I wish there were more 'life choices', since that's the interesting part for me. Maybe there are more closer to the end, but I couldn't play that long because the main mechanic is kinda tiring.
This is the best entry I've seen so far! Really polished, with great graphics, music and even voice over. The gameplay is very tight and is really enjoyable. I'm very impressed by this!
Very unexpected, and I love that! The music and sound effects are so on point! The input is also pretty satisfying. Really enjoyed it :)
@kaleido Thank you so much!
@majadroid Yeah, I wish I could've made more interesting levels.
@elmos-minion Thank you :)
@firellon Hi there, I've tested it on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox (on Windows and Ubuntu) and had no problems with those. What's your setup?
Thank you all for the kind comments! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed it. I'll try to play and rate your games as well.
