Fun visuals. Interesting concept that has been well executed overall.
The complete lack of light at first was really disorienting and made it hard to even get started. That is most likely on me and my lack of experience with this type of game though.
cool visuals
very cool game .

This game has many things to like! it is absurd, the legs limiting inventory aspect, the mechanic is solid (even if a bit hard to keep the damn fire up). Clever! Good work!

Cool game but I had trouble keeping the flame alive. Maybe I missed stuff that would have made this easier.

It's too dark in the beginning to navigate but it seems like a game with potential, maybe you should consider releasing an updated version?
I will admit that I had trouble at the beginning and it was a bit too dark to see at first but once I got a hang of things this became a very fun game. great job!
The mechanics of the game are really cool, I really enjoyed playing this game, the artwork is nice, the music is good. By far the game i spended the most time playing in this game jam. Great Work!

The music was very good, the concept was nice, unfortunately the music bugged out a little sometimes. Great game overall.
I found the game quite hard to get started and sometimes I couldn't use items sometimes, but I found the sound effects really funny and the art was really good! Nice game!

How come there are no Comments here? The game has a nice mood and is pretty complex for a game jam entry. Really good entry.
The mood is there, but the controls were a bit hard to getting used to. Overall solid entry with nice inspiration from Don't Starve.

@sol-roo Nice that someone noticed the eight inventory slots matching with eight legs  It was hard to get the difficulty good for everyone. Some of our team thought it was too easy and at the same time others thought it was impossible, so we had to take a middle ground somewhere...
Maybe we'll do advanced edition with easy and hard mode.

@marcelo-zoletti Thanks for the kind review! I'd like to know if you finished the game... Or has anyone else for that matter gotten to the end credits?
@tomssuli The game was really hard, because enemies came from everywhere, so I couldn't see it lol.

@marcelo-zoletti There is actually a way to influence to enemy spawning, if you follow the instructions... I won't spoil it right away, see if you can figure it out :stuck_out_tongue:
@tomssuli I finished the game now, after I passed a long time surviving the end screen apeared, and I think I know how to decrase the spawn rate but I won't tell anything too :stuck_out_tongue:

@marcelo-zoletti Good job! You should be able to tell the time from the clock. When it goes all the way to the sun from the moon, the game is won

I see that this could go somewhere. Cool concept, my team actually also thought about keeping some fire or light alive at first. I like that you need to find better weapons in order to tear down greater trees. Some things were a bit annoying, like that there was no hit detection between the blade and enemies or trees, but rather the cursor and trees and also I happened to restart the game by accidentally hitting F2 twice when I wanted to switch to item slot 2. But other than that, solid entry! :)

Yay, great work done in a weekend! This game seems to have a lot of details and features. Audio was fun, I laughed at some of the voices. It is quite random idea (in a lovely way!) that this main character is an octopus(?) and needs fire instead of water to survive. Keep up the fire! :octopus: :fire:
Loved it!
Somedays ago I played a very similar, but less polished game here on LD46. This one is complete, with enemies in the dark, not only the cold. I defeated the mosquitoes but died attacked by a bear!
It took me sometime to discover how to use the other legs, once discovered it got really fun to play!
Congrats, great concept and nice artwork!
So kinda Don't Starve, but different, and you're an Octopus? I'm in. :D Also the tentacle cursor is a nice touch. And you seem to have put a lot of thought in the "two dimensions of fire", i.e. heat and size and how they affect gameplay, which is nice. Quite a bit deeper than I initially expected.

I appreciate the silly humor, and it did kinda work out, but I found the game play a little unbalanced. There was a huge issue with cutting trees and how fast the fire went out again. It seemed like it took forever to get wood from a tree, especially the bug ones. The fire went completely out in the time i finished one tree. Since the fire was so sensitive, I didn't really venture far from it to not let it die out. I guess that there's more content hidden around the map, but i never felt incentivised to go looking due to the fire dying out in a few moments. Maybe give the player a little more leeway to explore without punishing him so quickly.
The controls worked in general, but I didn't like that I had to manually scroll through the inventory to pick up items in free spaces. That's something that can improve the user experience heavily. The art was good in a silly way (of course ;)) and the soundtrack fit that theme very nicely. Good job on that.
All in all, the game was all over the place, but I think, with a little tweaking, can be made into a rather fun experience. Keep it up!
I love the character's face, haha. Great entry.
Really loved this, My only feed back is to polish more. Try to make every action the player does have lots of feed back (particles, animation, sound, etc.) Make sure the game conveys its mechanics clearly, like maybe making the cursor an x when an item cannot be thrown into the fire because of its size.

@kitjenson @bloodpulpgames @piturnah @vini-explorer @mirsakka @duke Thanks for the lots of positive feedback on the art! All of our artists (graphics, music, sfx) were participating very first time in a game jam (and game developement in general) and made everything from scratch, so all the positive feedback has been really personal and encouraging for them.
@fernando-tonon-de-rossi @very-dark-lord Thanks for appreciating the complexity in game mechanics ...usually people mostly praise the work of artists (music, audio and graphical) so as a coder it's nice to hear that someone also noticed the details in game design and mechanics
@duke @rsninjadev Thanks for the detailed feedback and suggestions. We got lots of critique of not giving player enough feedback about the interactions between the player and the other active elements (fireplace, trees, enemies etc.). Also, we had in mind to make the inventory handling easier, but I didn't want to spend more time screwing around it because it took lots of time to build from scratch and debug in the first place. We'll most likely make an enhanced edition of this game. I -at least- like it too much to leave it unpolished and would like to fix all the things you mentioned.

@duke @rsninjadev @duke @devemil @zozol @john-snyder Advanced edition now available!
@kitjenson @fraanns @vini-explorer ...in which you can choose easy difficulty for little bit more relaxed pace in gameplay.
Well Done. Mood is Gooooood.
