LD46 — Keep it alive

Back Four Seconds by madalaski 2020-04-22T19:17:31Z

This was so good! Everything was on point. The look, feel, sound, humor. It felt like a complete game. Especially liked what you did with the post-processing effects as well with the mipmap radius thingy. Made the look coherent. Great Job!

Of The Dark by cogcomp 2020-04-22T19:01:36Z

Yo! Great stuff and in that short time frame? Awesome work! I actually liked the trippy visuals a lot. That was an experience :)

A lost fire by Barbiche 2020-04-22T18:48:47Z

Sadly the Mouse cursor didn't lck in for me, nonetheless great job! It was fun and most things were well telegraphed. The BotW inspired music and sound effects were a really nice touch. You can be proud :)

O.D.E.N by trit_techne 2020-04-23T17:23:25Z

Great visuals and sound! The idea is nice but needs a bit more balance. It was difficult to understand how to get food. (for people curious: you have to have the right temperature on the food processor tile; the one top right in the base; it will throw out food then)

Some more after jam polish and you have a great game with great atmosphere!

Parenting Crash Course by hollowspecter 2020-04-22T12:23:41Z

@james-dunlap thanks for the feedback! Yeah some of the camera placements were not ideal. we struggled a bit to have the franticness and also the baby in focus. If we do some after Jam polish, we will find a better overall solution for this! :)

Laser Evaders by Charlez245 2020-04-21T19:40:34Z

Nice concepts, not so great handling. as stated by other, keyboard turning would be nice. But having more visual representation while turning with mouse would make it easier. Like where is the center/pivot of turning, having the constraints more visible, turning off any wall when it is in front of the camera (some didn't become invisible).

Some after jam polish and it would be good fun!

Quest for Cake by Juutis 2020-04-22T18:59:35Z

Loved the IK dog! I played quite some time and there were nice tricky areas. Feedback: the map was quite big, maybe too big. had to backtrack because I missed some sausages and cakes (I thinkt) but died on the way back. Indicators would be nice, or have a better looping map. Overall great job! :)

Feed The Fire by Tomssuli 2020-04-21T19:12:23Z

The mood is there, but the controls were a bit hard to getting used to. Overall solid entry with nice inspiration from Don't Starve.

Scavenger by TentacleMax 2020-04-21T19:51:59Z

Graphics are nice and the gameplay, if basic, is solid. Some pet peeves: -the fences have a weird hitboxes -why need hobos to eat trash, why is this good/bad? -5 minutes are way to long for this gameloop. there should be more to mix it up or just straight up make the timer like 3 min. -using licence songs, even in bit rendition, is a field of landmines, beware.

If you are touching this after the jam. try to add some modifiers/variations or dangers into the mix!

Keep it on light by Rahcelz 2020-04-22T19:34:35Z

Great little game! Felt complete and the level had a nice difficulty curve! Not just a nice twist on the tower defense genre but also a great execution. I am patting you on the shoulder for a job well done!

Keep it burning! by Kevin Meissner 2020-04-23T17:51:01Z

oof, played it quite a bit. Was really meditative to run around searching for glowing stuff.:D

I find giving feedback always useful (even though this is a jam and time and resources are sparse): Mostly it is just little things, like the torch animation is a tad to slow but the mining animation is ridiculously fast (didn't realize I was swinging a pickax at first). The music worked well, simple, gave the sense of the atmosphere, and didn't started to bother even after a few minutes. But I had the feeling the frequencies clashed a bit with the sfx. At first I wasn't quite sure about the procedural levels. I even died just because there were no fire for ages (maybe it was intended). But after two level it felt nice, how it expanded every time. Giving a sense of progression. Nice would be if there were some unique Assets set in each Level, just to give it a bit more awe.

remember this was a jam, so these a super minor things. I think the biggest improvement would be to make the darkness feel really threatening. At first I didn't even realize it is a real threat until I saw the life bar turn red.

All in all. super solid entry! I lost myself playing it and really liked the idea of the achievements (I'll steal this for my next jam game... hehehehe) :)

Catastrophe: Wildfire Firefighters by Kaappis 2020-04-21T19:29:34Z

Some neat presentation. Totally dig the overall coherent style! It was hard to manage though, but I have the feeling thi swas designed hard by choice. Really had fun!

Within The Beast by Forging Foxes 2020-04-21T19:21:57Z

When I got how everything works, it was fun! some cool ideas. Of course a few bugs and the perspective could be telegraphed better. But after a bit of after jam polish there could be a really nice game!

Bacteria Attack by Nikos1304 2020-04-22T18:36:31Z

Playable and was fun after figuring out what to do. Besides a little tutorial or description, other things to improve: making the attacking cells a bit bigger. (colors and lines were sometimes hard to see) having hitpoints. (if you get hit once, some cells are removed but the next hit will end the game)

I almost survived a minute! So yeah at the end good job to you!

CAN you stay alive? by Gorypixels 2020-04-22T19:24:32Z

Difficulty spike is a bit harsh. But it was fun and looked great. Good Job you did there! :)
