So fun! Classical tower defense and so well done. I managed to win in both modes :sparkling_heart: Congrats

I like how the walls alter the path, that was cool.

This is a really awesome game, it feel full, polished a lot. I can't say anything to correct, I'm going to play it for a while

magicera 2020-04-22 12:28

The graphic looks cool!

fat-cat 2020-04-22 20:12

Really love the graphics, the music fits very nicely too!

Thank you, guys! :)

This project is very well executed! The graphics and the music are very good. Gameplay-wise, the cards feel a little bit unbalanced in the starting hand... In my playthroughs, the starting hand decided the run if they had the triple turret in it. Anyway, still a very nice project, with great potential

Really enjoyable tower defense entry. A had a lot of fun playing this. I ended up winning by making both paths merge together before coming to the hear by making that the shortest path, so I could have a single point to defend (aside from the flying enemies) which was really great when it worked out.

Great job. :)

Fun game! It was kind of tough. I felt like I didn't get enough cards that did damage. The spikes seemed very ineffective and I barely got any shooting towers. It also wasn't super clear to me at first that cards are usable while enemies are coming. It would have been nice if the explosion/freeze cards weren't playable when enemies weren't coming.

I do not think I have ever seen the card/tower defense mashup before. It feels really polished!

Great tower defense! I wonder how it doesn't have more reatings. The way cards are used to drive the game is brilliant, and the card powers are very tightly adjusted. I see you could make a full game out of this original idea: maybe depending on how well you do you in a play you an get some credits to buy new cards, and have a fixed deck that you can modify. Also, having a different card color for effects (like explode) and buildings (like a tower) can make it easier for new players. It is also very portable to a mobile version!

Loved the game! Could only get to Wave 11 after three tries haha. Perhaps it would be more fun if your cards got randomized after every battle? I had some cards in my hand that i didnt use at all for the entire duration of the game. Also, im not sure how, but the wall card needs to be improved. Usually, using that card caused me entire defense to be rendered obsolete. Perhaps visualizing how the path will change before i use the card? Not sure. :S

I liked this tower defense game! This is a great idea.

Thank you everyone for the insightful messages.

I agree that the difficulty is a bit off. I wish I had time to program more rules about how cards are drawn, to avoid having too many or too few towers. Also, different card types should've been indicated more clearly, probably with tags like 'Build', 'Upgrade' and 'Spell'. And when placing new buildings, the new path should be indicated.

Maybe I'll fix those things and possibly add more content if I have time. :)

Really Nice. it is fun to Play and nice selection of music too.

A really good and enjoyable game! Reached wave 11 in 1 heart challenge

Few things to point out :

1. Showing the new path before setting down an item like box or tower on the current path would be really helpful

2. At the starting it would be good to give atleast 2 towers costing 5 each and the rest random

I enoyed the game a lot, 33 minutes of gameplay uploading :p

Edit: Also I forgot to use wasd for the camera

I love this game! I love tower defense, that's one of the reasons I created something similar with "The King's Gun Guy". I played untill the end, really enjoyed. I died 4 times before I really understood the game. Love the art, the music, the towers and upgrades, all awesome. Great job!

Excellent work. This one was very well balanced for a Jam game. The sound and graphics were top-notch as well. If there's one thing I'd change, it would be to make it so the enemies cannot path under the UI elements (like the cards). It can get pretty annoying if they do that, since you can't place walls there.

fatpenguin 2020-05-12 17:42

A cute tower defense game, I enjoyed it, was quite a challenge! :) I would have liked it better if you could change the structures afterwards, as I felt like I could never predict where the path is going to change towards if I built in walls (really liked that mechanic btw!) or at least show a preview (overlay or something) where this would be built. The gameplay was challenging, the graphics nice and together with the msic and sound this made for an awesome mood :D Really well done for a gamejam that you did all by yourself :) I think if you continue to work on this this can be a really cool game, would also work pretty well as a mobile game!
