Fun little game, although it seemed like the optimal solution was just to run and jump over everything you encountered. I easily beat all 3 levels that way.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD33 → Don't Stick Me

The game actually works decently with WINE, so unless you want to run from source, you can use that. The sounds are a little weird, and it feels like your running around an ice rink, but it's a nice concept
The character is indeed blue my friend! My only gripe with this game is that the controls are very wacky. I also noticed that no damage is done when you attack from above. I did enjoy the music though!
I liked the music, the controls are weird, luckily you don't actually need to move left, if you did it would be pretty much unplayable if you wanted to fight anything (why IS 1 attack anyway?).
Essentially an endless runner with an end.
The attack is set to 1 because it makes it difficult. Just kidding. You were originally going to have multiple attacks, but it got cut for time. It was going to be bound to shift at some point, but I completely forgot.
I don't like that "1" key is the attack. I don't get what's up with the dirt on the background. The gameplay just doesn't seem to be here; it's hard to find scientists and when I do I hit 1 and it's over with. They never inject me with hurty stuff I stand still and spam 1 :).
However the audio is not that bad though it gets a bit repetitive quickly. This game has a very strong mood/style to it with the graphics and audio. It's a very good idea I just think it needed better execution. I understand it's your first ludum dare (my first ludum dare was probably worse than this!), so I hope you have better luck next time :).
Now, this might me because its timed in frames, and it was running at like 200 frames on my pc, and the timing made sense. That's my prediction. Next time i'll be using actual timers, and a decent target framerate
Nice little game! Just one remark, the camera should show what's ahead the player, not behind him.
The controls scheme and camera were pretty wonky, but the game was fun.
Maybe a score during the game would be nice or something... Or did I miss something?
The button layout was really odd, but I liked the music.
I agree with the rest of the comments. The floaty controls could use some work. I like the idea of an escaping monster and people trying to subdue it. I think it could make for some good pandemonium, and the music helped with that feel. But there needs to be more than 1 or 2 enemies on the screen at a time, I think.
Somehow i like the sound, but i can“t really explain why. The idea of your game is good, but i find your levels a bit too empty? Sometimes it feels like i am running minutes in on direction and nothing happened. I saw the movement, but no obstacles and no enemies? But overall a good game.
