Visual style consistent, pleasing and good to look at, however how-to text way too cramped and a bit hard to read. Music matches the game very well. Really like the trophies system, takes the game to a whole new level feature wise and adds more of a goal. If you slowed the game down a notch it would get more strategical and allow for a moment to think - right now I just found myself clicking on whatever was red :)

Overall I liked the game, matches the theme fairly well in my opinion. Good job!

Gameplay is very minimalistic, the art style works. First I did not know where to click, then ended up clicking everywhere, but ended up dying anyway (at 3:30).

Oh, and the font on instructions screen is hardly readable, so i'm not sure if I understood everything!

Good job.

@mrtnldm @sebastien-bourgeois thanks a lot for the feedback! I'll make sure to get a cleaner font, or keep the layout readable next time - the help menu was a bit of an afterthought :P

Solid game. I liked the UI and menu system a lot and the trophies are a nice touch!

Nice art!! It's a cool approach on the theme! Good work!

It was a bit overwhelming at first to understand what on earth is going on, but after I understood the idea it was quite fun, even though a little bit repetitive.

The art was cool and the sound effects as well. The background tune worked did it's part too :) The core gameplay was a bit basic and wasn't really fun or exciting, at least for me. It felt more like a chore to click the icons. I'm not a fan of licker games and without any real strategy involved, this did feel like one of those (just without the upgrades)

I think it would've made a better experience, if there was some kind of risk/reward system and some time to think about what to do next. The current gameplay was way too fast and just required clicking everything every once in a while. After 2mins I just sopped because there was also no real progression of any sort or an end in sight.

As I said, really nice audiovisual presentation but the games lacks some involved gameplay

@duke Thanks for the feedback! I originally intended for this to be a prototype - a throwaway idea, but as I implemented it, I realised I had taken too long, and if I didn’t finish it I wouldn’t end up with a polished game I could be content with. I’m not really a big fan of clicker games either, so I don’t really know what differentiates a good one from a bad one, but I did my best to try and make it at least nice to look at and listen to, even better if the core mechanic may be a little lacking.

Very cool game! Fast and crazy. Great style choice, fun idea. Absolutely enjoyed it. Good job :)

Cool idea with a bit of humour.

archimagus 2019-05-16 00:47

Fun clicker type game. It got quite hectic, and was tricky to remember to pump the heart every time it got to 7 so you aren't wasting seconds. My biggest criticism would be the font, it was kinda hard to read. Other than that. Great entry.

kaisean-games 2019-05-16 06:53

Very nice. But I was unable to get any trophy. I'm bad at such games. Graphics style is interesting, tho :)

krammetje 2019-05-16 09:46

It was much more challenging than I expected. The events add some RNG but don't make it feel unfair. Also like the achievements.

simplepotential 2019-05-18 11:16

At first this seemed easy but then... not so much :) Generally I liked this. The Tutorial screen was good though the font was a bit difficult to read. The scene transitions were a simple and nice touch.

chuckeles 2019-05-18 11:44

Nice game but very challenging! The achievements are the best part of the game. I played a little and still don't know how to survive longer than a minute or two.

alex-davies 2019-05-18 13:14

@chuckeles I agree - the achievements really added a lot. It was a bit boring before I added them. It seems like everyone had trouble reading the help screen :P I think it’s a kerning issue with the font.

glimaleite 2019-05-18 15:36

Pretty nice game! I usually dislike clickers, but this one doesn't involve that huge inflaction based gameplay, which was a relief. I had fun playing it, and only died when I was close to 4 minutes. It's fun, the writing is fun, I like the mechanics and the balance (though I think it could get harder faster, but only if you take more time to explain the consequences of each organ).

Looks good as well and the sound is ok.

Congratulations on the entry, one of my favorites so far!

snails84 2019-05-18 16:39

I agree with most of the comments here! Nice achievements, great visual style (really really liked the graphics), good idea, but hard to read the help screen.

alex-davies 2019-05-18 22:40

@glimaleite Thanks for the feedback! I didn’t have much time left to make balancing changes, so the balance wasn’t based off much testing. I agree that there needs to be a better tutorial - I should dedicate more time to it next time, to avoid confusion for players. At one point I even toyed with the idea of a difficulty slider, as it seems a lot of people found it to be too hard, and a lot too easy, but decided against it to keep the game simple. Something that I did want to add though was a special hard mode, where as well as managing your organs, you had to remember to breath (with the lungs), otherwise you would rapidly lose health. I actually made a lungs sprite (you can still find it in the source code), but ended up running out of time to implement it.

Awesome game, I really enjoyed the graphics and music, sounds but it's a great game overall. Nice take on LD44 theme!
