Cool, I think you did well for your first compo! The game is fun and interesting to play, and I'm sure you learnt a lot from this experience! The graphics are quite simple, but I think it works very well for the simple style of the game. Good job!

@danidev Thanks for the kind words ^-^!
annoying indeed xD.. I did level 1 and failed in level 2 so I had to make level 1 again .. so exactly what you promised ;). For your first game in a new Engine this is very god and keeping the time frame in mind this is very vell made.

My browser crashes for a few seconds when I try to play online and then It displays a "WebGL context lost, please reload the page".
I'm Windows 10 with google chrome.

@erudis I had that issue sometimes under linux with chromium. Firefox should work.

Wow this was a fun game! It was infact super annoying to have to click every single unit instead of being able to drag a square and target all inside but i think you have struck a great balance with this game, well done! By the way, the WebGL build doesnt seem to work and it actually crashed my browser :/

@lubaka Thank you for playing and the positive feedback! Sorry I crashed your browser -.- Think I need to upload a fixed HTML5 version. (~_~)\
Woaw DUDE, this made in 48 hours is INSANE and this wasn't Annoying at ALL , i was always engaged in clicking and moving. I cheesed the first level however since i didn't understand you where supposed to buy soldier Get Rekt AI.PNG
But the second Stage really Shined dude !! i am gonna appreciate Box selection from now on but i kinda liked the micro management. GREAT GAME wish there where more then 2 level :frog: HOLD the LINE.PNG
Also WEB version is very unstable (chrome) maybe remove it from the list or people might get turned away
It was a pretty good game, not annoying. The pathfinding wasn't great (they just move in a straight line), but what do you expect for 48 hours. However I don't see how it fits the theme.

hhh ,I like this game very much. Fortunately, I am a master of LOL. My operation is very good.

Thank you very much @rustycrow !! What a totally unexpected reaction. I would have loved to add more levels. But I didn't even have time to polish anything... or add music (I actually finished a track, but it sounded soooo cheesy that I left it out). Time was really flying in the end (~_~)\ Cheers mate!

@mika-la-grand Thank you! Yeah I didn't manage to finish the navigation mesh with houdini in time. So... I ended up with stupid-move-mode (~_~)\. The guy you are protecting gives you money as long as he is alive btw. I know it's not a very good interpretation of the theme. Thank you for playing :D

Thanks for playing @dreamer !! So when I finish the game maybe will have the difficulty settings "easy", "hard" and "master of lol" :P Glad you liked it!

It's funny! But I have to start with the first level when I died. That's frustrating.

@mantou Thanks for the feedback! Yeah you are right (~_~)\, it is fruststrating. I wanted to have multiple levels and then restart at the current level. But I didn't manage to finish that in time.

Fun game. I like the concept and I think you executed it well for the time you had. Better pathfinding and a mass select for multiple units would work wonders for this game along with not restarting the entire game when you fail.

I have always liked top-down control systems, but this is a unique take on it I don't think I have seen before. I like it! I think it could definitely benefit from a bit more time spent on things like pathing and balancing, but you only have so much time in a jam.

I love this game !
Amazing game for first Ludum Dare. Really loved the idea of body guards. Will be cool to have nicer graphics. But in general the game is complete and can be polished further.
Very nice entry. Especially for the compo.
I've noticed one bug though, when the suit guy passed thru a first corridor in the second level, it attracted aliens from the room to the right even though there is no line of sight. And one of my stupid soldiers started shooting towards them, but into the wall :)
I mean, it was fun, but probably shouldn't happen :)
A nice soundtrack would fit nicely but I know how it is trying to squeeze the game into 48 hours :)
So keep up the good work.

@wrimo Yepp, these are all valid proposals which would make the game better. I underestimated how fast time runs when you hit a roadblock (even a minor one). Thanks for playing!

@kaisean-games Hahahaa... yeah I changed the behaviour for the soldier like 15min before the 48h mark. The list of targets would mutate by distance to enemies. But something went wrong and I didnt find the bug in time. So I reverted to stupid fifo logic and ended up with soldiers shooting at walls (~_~)\ Luckily I'm not in charge of programming flight computers :P Your game ROCKS btw!!
Nice take on an obnoxious game mechanic, letting it play out kinda like an RTS/Tower Defense hybrid. Obviously there's room for polish and improvement, but for your first compo and first time using Godot, you definitely ended up with something to be proud of. Good work!
