Very good! Only problem is it wasn't a big enough story to develop. You can also cheat by holding down 1. :P
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD33 → The Much Loved Monster

Very well written. Which there was more, but I know that can be difficult :)
The writing is good, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere? You just get to go in a loop and address a couple of issues?
Awesome writing! You could make a story for my entry!
Really nice seeing text adventure. The game was quite nice.
It is to much finite. Very much unfinished.
Very nice! I wish it was a bit longer, though. The monstrosity meter was very funny too.
The writing wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly engaging either. Between the relatively limited number of paths that looped and the lack of any real mechanics other than "doing bad things and being a bad person", the game as a whole was rather uninteresting.
This is one of those games I really hope to see a post-compo version of.
great experience, loved it!
Excellent mood, great writing!
As others have said, it's a bit short, but that's expected.
It might have been nice to have something of a conclusion, and encourage multiple play throughs rather than the looping.
It fit the theme well, even without noticing the monstrosity score, I felt like a monster =D
Pretty cool!
Hi,
what I liked :
- The very unconfortable feeling of being forced to act "bad"
- The cohesion in the universe you described
Where imo could be improved :
- Have a proper end (or did I missed it ?)
- Avoid repetition, or add variants to repeated lines
- More originality in the universe, eveything sound like "imperialism cliche"
Thanks for the game !
A bit unfinished but a good game from a developer's standpoint (java/C++ or other non engine languages is always a +).
Well yeah writings were very very dark. Some of these games are about bad people in charge. Who voted for this theme B/. The game is good anyway. I would like read more of it actually. Keep up good work!
I like very much the console style.
The game reminded me of 1984 as if it were a batch game and you played the big brother. The writing was nice, but the problem is of course that it doesn't go anywhere you can repeat what you're doing and there are no consequences.
This game is great! I wish it was longer.
Neat little game for as little time as you had. Most people go too ambitious even for as little time as 4 hours, yet you kept it reasonable and the outcome is worthy of playing.
I found the story surprisingly easy to paint a picture for... does that make ME the monster? :o
Nice strory. Would have been better if there were more issues and if solving the issues in a certain way would create more issues, so that player would get the feeling of an actual story.
This is great! I really liked the whole setting of this game. Too bad it's so short. I would've wanted to see how Terrovium fares under my iron grip.
Also I think you should take the [1] option out of the first screen of choices if you have completed that already.
I really liked this! Hopefully you will expand on this.
That was a flash from the past. Dang.
I found it confusing when I realized that aside from two branching paths, the game doesn't progress. You can kill your Deputy Grand Leader, but apparently he comes back as if nothing happened when you "attend to other issues".
So I guess that means I found the game incomplete.
But good work on the theme! It was quite chilling to see the choices I had before me.
I had the game in a maximized window and saw that the monstrosity meter was missing because apparently it is too far to the right.
Certainly a unique game and a very well written text adventure, but the game doesn't have any win / lose conditions which would make the game far more interesting!
The writing was fantastic but there weren't enough choices (though I understand there were significant time constraints)
Excellent written story! Nice compo ;)
