LD37 — One room

Motel 37 by alxm 2016-12-12T20:00:00

@dunin Thanks for trying my game! Sorry about the text speed, I will fix it in a future update.

Time ran out before I could add instructions:

- You receive a request for treasure
- It's in one of the marked graves
- You have 3 tries to find it, or a zombie gets you

I added this part in the last 50 minutes, that's why it's so campy... :D

Detective Noword and the case of the floor tiles by dunin 2016-12-12T20:38:00

This is a very nice point-and-click adventure game. Linking everything together to solve the murder was fun without being obviously simple nor frustratingly difficult.

I really like the humor and the cop's expressive face. The music fits well too.

LD38 — A Small World

For The Love Of Money by KunoNoOni 2017-05-03T23:47:52Z

Fun platformer, the levels got interesting fast. I like how the player doesn't automatically drift with the platforms but you have to keep up. Given how unforgiving the traps are, I think the dpad would have worked better than the analog stick for gamepad controls.

PS: loved the green sneakers

Mallows World Adventure by geeitsomelaldy 2017-05-02T06:04:47Z

Nice music and art, and an impressive amount of content for a 48h game!

38th Century by alxm 2017-05-01T23:15:05Z

@skywilly and @occultone: Thanks for playing my game!

I'd like to continue work on this, since I wasn't able to implement my entire design for LD38. Missing things include using Science investments to evolve past living in caves, more content and better balancing, special effects, etc.

About the bars: when a disaster happens, it first drains your investment points (plague drains health, earthquake drains industry, etc.). When there are no relevant points to drain, people die instead. Also, when health drops below 1/4, the population declines every decade regardless of disasters.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Fukushima Robot by SoKette 2017-08-19T19:55:34Z

Very nice graphics and map design. I like exploration non-combat platformers, not that many out there.

Horrible Politics by Rocketship 2017-08-04T17:17:37Z

Great job, really made me smile :-) The art looks good and most texts are funny. I love how sometimes you have no choice but to put your foot in your mouth.

I did notice some small discrepancies, for example getting tough with the eastern region lowered my international popularity but the newspaper said they loved it.

Mr Mayor's Energy Crisis by HuvaaKoodia 2017-08-19T17:43:30Z

Mr Mayor fired! Charming game with lots of nice little touches. I like small simulation games where you have the whole world on the screen and there are only a few choices to make. The newspaper is an entertaining way to end each day and a smart way to give the player clues on what to do next. It only took me one play to get a grasp on things, now I'm on my 4th attempt at keeping everyone happy :-)

Zest & Goop by conk 2017-08-19T17:16:34Z

Very polished and stylish game, the graphics and music really pull you in. Gameplay is fun too, I like the idea of a tower defense game where you scramble to operate all the contraptions and to collect energy. I think a tutorial level would be a great addition.

Kings by nitzanel 2017-08-19T19:17:14Z

Nice interpretation of the theme! Impressive how much content and features you made in such a short time.

Mine Mouser by Knatt 2017-08-04T19:44:21Z

Nice take on the theme! The game is easy to pick up and the built-in levels are fun to figure out. Really cool that you included a level editor! The graphics are charming and have that old-school Windows shareware vibe. Runs great on Linux using Wine.

Expectations by thebmxeur 2017-08-04T22:36:08Z

My pet theory is that the mysteriousness of this game is itself the experiment, being run on the players :-)

Dauntless Run by Ninjascribble 2017-08-02T18:05:16Z

Fun game with nice graphics and sfx! Felt like *Vertical Shmup* meets *Helicopter Game* :-) Managed to get some powerup chains going that propelled me right through the middle of an enemy wave, precision flying right there! The fast pace and short length of each play is quite addicting.

Corrupted by Shess 2017-08-04T20:10:16Z

A stylish and polished action puzzle game. It's a lot of fun to arrange all your components and there seems to be a lot of room to strategize. Keeping this around to play it more later! Runs well on Linux with Wine.

The Defective One by gagapete 2017-08-04T21:43:23Z

Hooray, a native Linux game! :-) I like the graphics style and how smooth it runs. It's fun to bide your time and sneak on a drone as soon as it turns around. Quite difficult, only made it a few screens so far but I'm keeping it around to play more later. Nice work!

Turtle's Quest by orcdraco 2017-08-19T19:28:14Z

Really like the painted graphics look, and especially the walking animation when you're hiding in your shell :-)

I will mirror what others said about jumping being unresponsive and a little off (sometimes I would get glued to a tile as I jump into it, or not be able to jump when an enemy is approaching). Despite this I kept playing for a while, because the world was interesting and I was curious what I'd find next. Nice work!

President of Zorga by gimbalock 2017-08-04T17:33:49Z

I played this after only skimming the instructions, nice job making the game self-explanatory! I like that it's real-time, I expected it to be turn based going in. I do wish it was a little slower paced though, I was overwhelmed by everything that was happening even with my relatives, ahem, I mean staff, helping me... Grandpa catching some Z's is excellent by the way :-)

FYI, this runs great on Linux with Wine. I noticed a glitch where if you click inside your staffs' text boxes, the text inside clears and doesn't reappear.

BAT-BATTERY by cenullum 2017-08-19T04:24:01Z

The game world is charming, nice colors, and the low res works really well. I was confused about what to do at first, but I got the flying with a battery to the next after a few tries. In-game instructions are a nice touch. Works great on Linux with Wine.

Until the lights turn off by Chacho 2017-08-04T22:25:01Z

Haha, spotted Doom guy's face too :D

I like the game's atmosphere, you can really feel the tension when the lights go out and you know that the guard could be right around the corner. The graphics are funny and original, as others said a few walking frames would make it even better.

I really like the ability to close and open doors. There seem to be some accuracy glitches there when you stand too close to the door, but it's a cool mechanic.

Nice job!

Flappy Jet by Henry Sneed 2017-08-04T19:55:04Z

Nice game! As others said the difficulty is quite high, but depending on who you ask, games these days might be too easy :-) I think this would benefit a lot from being a little slower and easier to control. Would be cool to add some explosion effects when you hit the spikes. Runs well on Linux with Wine.

Trap in the dark by azziliz 2017-08-04T21:54:37Z

Cool game with the old Ultima vibe. Made it all the way to Level 31, where the tiles are the same color as the exit, and I wasn't fast enough to spot it before I lost power (Edit: stumbled around some more and ran into a crystal, now I made it out and the adventure continues :D). Nice work!

By the way, since you did not create the [graphics](http://statico.github.io/rltiles/), you should [opt-out of that voting category](http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/).

Float by MickeyG 2017-08-04T17:03:38Z

Nice game! I wish the player would respawn closer to where you died instead of always at the beginning - the levels got difficult fast :-) Also, noticed that if you die while the power is off, the respawned player sometimes does the jump you were doing just as you died without pressing any keys.

Bright Plateau by fmdkdd 2017-08-19T20:37:46Z

Very polished puzzle game, I love the low-res 3D graphics and ambient music. The tutorial maps at the beginning do a good job of introducing how this works, and the level designs are fun.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Mine Op 40 by alxm 2017-12-06T17:50:41Z

@cenullum Thanks for trying it out even though it's just a prototype!

The mouse needs more work for sure, I was in a rush to get it running since all the other games I made in the past only use controllers. Each Ludum Dare is followed by a game engine improvement sprint
