Well, it's a tower defence game. The power twist on the formula works pretty well, and the graphics and music work fine together. Since I don't really play tower defence games myself I can't say much about whether it holds up as a game in that genre.

NICE ARTS!!! NICE GAME !!Congratulations 3/5!! GOOD LUCK ^..^
I like so much the graphics, nad the audio too. It's not very intuitive, but it dosen't matter, because when you play, you can know what to do, i like it xD!

Awesome game, well done :) I liked the idea of having to run around collecting the crystals and converting them into zest to power the defences. I didn't fully understand the conversion machine, when I was trying to generate more zest but with the little time you had you've done really well :) Oh, nice art and soundtrack too!

Cool! I love the graphics and the music. I thought it was weird that I could walk through walls. I never had enough zest lol

Pretty cool entry, I liked the idea of using the energy to activate towers, it took me some time to figure out how it work but good job!

Man you're pretty inventive during hangovers ! That was really cool, love the harvesting mechanic, art is nice, it works really well.

Thanks for the feedback everyone (:
@shinmera - Yeah, I forgot to mention that in the description, admittedly I was very tired when finishing up and forgot to do a lot of things :P
@swav-gav - Essentially stand on the left of the machine to deposit, in my rush to upload I forgot to mention this, sorry.
@seanw - The walls are just there to make sense of the enemies routes and I figured a ghost should be able to pass through them (it's also required to complete the game as you need to be everywhere at once!)
@hairaz - Thanks! At first I though it was a terrible idea and didn't really start believing until a few hours before the deadline.

Took me a while to understand all the mecanics but it's a really cool game! Love the art, music and concept!
I really liked this game! very nice job, the graphics are excellent, I love these minimalistic designs :) As other comments said, it's takes a few waves to really understand all the mechanics but once you do it's very enjoyable. Very good job! I'd love to see a version with more content.
I lost twice, both times because i didn't manage to kill the big buggers- but after realising i forgot to turn the mortar on i managed to win the third time around. Very fun game. I really liked the graphics and though the music was repetitive it never bugged me, cause it's pretty catchy, though the charged square pickup sound was pretty gratingly loud compared to the other sounds. Otherwise, very nice job!
Yeah, Had fun playing your game, It was very nicely designed and the mechanisms where placed very nicely (Traps actually)
Here is what I liked and what I didn't like
I liked the system of wave where enemies spawn randomly and each wave, the difficulty is more, I liked the cause of the game, safeguarding your rocket from those bad guys.
I liked the way the surrounding reacted like the enemies, traps etc
I liked the background looping music
But the only thing I didn't like was the collect sound, It was pretty annoying and loud I guess.
I loved the game, No issues.

Loved most everything about this game. Except that you don't get to choose when the next wave comes, that would've been nice, a little down time to focus on which towers need to be re-charged and to mentally prepare yourself haha. Still, awesome game and the challenge was fun!
Surprisingly well balanced, though I don't know if it's possible to destroy the Sage at wave 10 -- I had all towers activated and he still got through =X

Once I understood how all the mechanics worked it was a pretty fun experience. The art and sound really bring the game together.
Art is great, and the music has a tune! The concept of powering the towers is somewhat innovative, but the gameplay is really slow and thus it feels like no challenge for me. I guess, a little bit of balancing might turn this into an awesome tower defense game.
Nice twist on the tower defence genre, very fitting to the theme. The difficulty is progressive and in the end you need to define well your priorities. I tried a little to beat the game, but didn't manage so far.
I like how it feels pretty polished with the nice graphics and music, just a bit glitchy when the ghost overlaps the walls. Not much to say, you could probably do some more levels and that would be a neat HTML5 game.
Well done!

Lovely graphics and good soundtrack. I love tower defence games and I think it's a good way to apply this theme. You mentioned you make this game by your own in 48h, don't you? so it's double merit!! If I need to say something would be related to the light / black energy and how it's working, I think it could be more clear for the player. Anyway, good work!
Awesome foil of the tower defense formula. Causes the player to juggle priorities rather than just expanding. Really great art (love the palette). Definitely something that could be expanded to a full game.
Solid compo entry. Very nice graphics, sounds, and the music was not bad. Took me a bit to realize I could collect the flesh of my enemies and grind them for power! lol because I found this first on itch.io and must have missed that part of the "how to play". Regardless, very nice work
There's so much potential with this game. The mechanics could have been conveyed better (I'm not even sure if I full understand it now), but I had a blast playing it. I'd love to be able to play a more polished version on my phone.
Also you gotta add a link on your itch.io page to this one. It was a pain finding to get here to comment.

@ganbaregameskyle - Cheers! Wish I'd planned better and made an in-game tutorial, it would've been a lot better :stuck_out_tongue: I've added a link to it as you have a fair point! There really needs to be a search feature on this website.

Very polished and stylish game, the graphics and music really pull you in. Gameplay is fun too, I like the idea of a tower defense game where you scramble to operate all the contraptions and to collect energy. I think a tutorial level would be a great addition.

Very nice, I like this "time management" active style of tower defense game. Good idea, good execution. There's just couple of things I would change:
-The spikes draining energy all the time. Makes sense realism wise, but it's a big hassle in game. Maybe have them come up only when enemies pass over?
-I didn't realize at first you could pass through walls. I guess it makes sense since you're a ghost, but why not just not have them there at all since they serve no gameplay purpose? The path on the floor should be enough to let the player know the route enemies will take
-The big enemy should have something to distinguish him from the rest, a bright outline or something. Couple of times I didn't see him from under a horde of smaller enemies. He seemed like the only real threat in the game so it would really help if he was easy to spot and follow.
Not meaning to sound harsh, it's just that this is an actual good game so I'm giving actual critique. Great job on it, definitely one of the best games in the jam I've played so far. Good luck!
cool game, cute art style and pretty fun version of tower defense. It did take me a little while to figure out first that I could pick up the black stuff and then that just refilling the crystal wasn't enough and i had to take its output back to the machines. Obviously no one reads instructions :). The only issue I had is it lacks the feeling of progression you usually get in tower defense, where you can build more stuff as well as upgrading the weapons, which helps to stop them feeling too repetitive. Like @sma if i'm being critical its just because I genuinely liked the game
Very fun entry! I played longer that I should have... The only difficulty I had is to charge the towers.

@sma & @automatonvx - Cheers for the great feedback :grinning:, don't worry about giving critical feedback, that's what Ludum Dare is for! If everyone told everyone their games were perfect(or even just omitting feedback) they would never learn how to improve their creations, thanks for playing!
