LD38 — A Small World

Invaders of Yekithar by skippuku 2017-08-01T12:25:31Z

great game! if you want to make games more proffesional in 2 minutes use this page http://icoconvert.com to make an icon quickly. Then in game maker go to game settings and change the icon. Small things like that make your game look much better ;)

LD39 — Running out of Power

Escapade ! by Togimaro 2017-08-01T16:40:00Z

Awesome game! Not much criticism to do, it's very fun. THe only thing I could say is that the flamethrougher is too weak. Even if you buy it it's not worth wasting the fuel when you can just jump the enemies and it's less risky than getting close to kill them. If it shot bullets or something like that, even if it was too OP it would be fine since it's pretty hard to get 19 coins

Running from Power by dirkinz 2017-08-02T12:36:58Z

Great game!

Power Crisis by Gulyasarni66 2017-08-01T11:51:42Z

Controls are a bit uncomfortable. Try the classic Z for jumping and X for attacking. Also, a "bweep" sound when hurt doesn't really work that well. At first I thought the moving spikes were good stuff that made you jump. If you had some camera shake and some "brrrt" sound when hurt, it would be clearer. The enemies just wouldn't make their way to you if there was a wall between you and the enemy. Some more advanced path finding would bring the game to the next level. Try making the bullets bigger and appealing. Even if the damage they do is the same, the player will feel much more powerful if the bullets are big, they make particles when they hit and if theres some little screenshake when you shoot. I recommend watching a talk on that on Youtube called "the art of screenshake"

The art is great and the level design is cool too. I liked the fact that there were different levels with different tiles and sprites. Good job!

I hate Snakes! by mennchen22 2017-07-31T19:21:59Z

Great interpretation of the theme! The idea is very cool but I didn't know how to interact with stuff. I found chests, levers and a book thingy, aswell as many doors, but only the chest seemed to give me more damage. I guess you were short of time but it would've been cool to have the lever activate some doors and the book give you some spell attacks or something like that.

Other than this, I really liked the feel of the game and the concep ;)

@pio after you beat it there's no more levels, you keep looping in the same levels. to get out there's an old school trick called alt+f4 ;)

Console Commander by kryptarchy 2017-08-02T12:08:34Z

Great game, but I didn't see any badguys! I followed the red line but never came across andy bad ships

Running Out Of Tiles by BORB 2017-08-01T17:17:42Z

Good idea! but kinda short game! SOme more levels playing more and going deeper with these interesting mechanics would be cool. Also the music stopped for some reason at the fist level. Overall, cool game, good job!

Escape from Solar Sea Fortress by designernap 2017-07-31T23:31:57Z

Graphics and music are amazing. Gameplay seems very fun but I couldn't play much cause it was very buggy, I couldn't pick up the objects easly and it was kinda laggy. This is probably the only flaw. I have watched the gameplay and it really seemed like a good puzzle game.

Plasma Arena by red-fan-games 2017-07-31T21:32:31Z

It's funny cause now I really wanna play your game but it's for Linux xD

I actually think my game can run on Linux but I don't know for sure (You commented in my game you'd play if it was for linux, remember?). Could you help me with this? Could you try if it works for Linux and tell me? just download the windows version and it will detect that you're on Linux, I think. here's the link :D https://pere-dm.itch.io/batter-e

hope it works, hope you like it! -thanks in advance <3

I Once Had Power by jackyjjc 2017-08-01T12:39:38Z

Awesome game! The sound when you hit an enemy is very satisfying and the minimalistic style of the game feels really good too. The way the story is told is very cool too. And being able to choose what power to lose is also much better than just losing a bit of everything. It gives you a little of strategy to do and you can choose what style of playing you want. I really liked it. It would be very cool if it had an ending. If you could possibly kill them all at the minimum power, then you could add some ending or something

Airship Engineer by ryte2byte 2017-07-31T23:46:28Z

Cool original game. Controls are a bit hard. EEls sometimes dont get into the eel engine. I really liked the mood of the game. Very silly, funny style. I'm not a big fan of read-a-lot tutorials. Try to keep tutorials as short as possible, and ideally unnexistent (teaching by gamedesign instead of text). For example you could have drawn a cat over the cat engine, etc...

But overall its a good game ;)

Evelyn by Everbrave 2017-08-03T23:33:07Z

I love this game! The art is obviously amazing. The idea is very original, you chose an original style, world and design rather than make a robot in a robot world that collects batteries to not die. The game didn't have much in terms of gameplay, but the mechanics are there and they're pretty solid and cool, too. Very creative game, overall.

Crystal Rush by jakylgamer 2017-08-01T00:13:16Z

Cool game! The idea is very cool but it's very tiring to go back to suply the cristals. Making it closer to the cave and be like the center of the map would make it more pleasant. As everyone has said already, fist jump was freakin hard xD

Static Man by tifu 2017-08-02T11:52:31Z

Cool game! I freaked out first time I saw the monster xD As others have said, the normal mode is very hard

Hold Back the Night by dnp 2017-07-31T19:04:57Z

Cool game! The core mechanics are great but there's lack of "game feel". I sugest you watch a talk on youtube called "the art of screenshake". Basicly, you should add some screenshake particles, sound effects when you kill an enemy or shoot a bullet or basicly when the player does anything. Especially the upgraded guns. The cool weapons should have a lot of particles and screenshake to make them feel good. Other than that, I really liked the game.

Hive Attack! by Runuchok 2017-08-01T16:35:01Z

Cool game! I love the art, it's very cute! In terms of gameplay it was honestly a little boring, since you don't really have to think much. YOu could add different turrets or showing the bees and make every turret point in a direction so you have to choose what turret to feed first. With things like that you make the player's actions really have an effect on the game, and the player has to make hard choices. Other than that, everything was very good, good job!

LaserDefense by Gildar76 2017-08-01T00:19:58Z

You can opt out of humor if your game doesn't have any jokes, so that doesn't effect your final score. Also, about the game, the player should have more control over the game. Just repairing the cannons doesn't require skill nor thinking, so the player might get bored and feel they don't really affect the game. Awesome for your first time, though, keep it up ;)

Recharged by EX3D0 2017-07-31T18:15:57Z

Cool little game. But there's not much to think. Everything is good so the player just goes around picking stuff and doesnt have to think. If there were some bad things, the player would have to think more. To bring it to the next level there should be some stuff that deppending on the situation might play in the player's interest or against it. For that you'd have to think of some other mechanics, but what I mean is that, as someone once said, a good game is a "series of meaningful decisions".

The sounds feel good. They give a very cool vibe

Power Insufficient by theoddpotion 2017-07-31T23:15:14Z

Awesome game. It's amazing how such simple thing can be so addictive and so fun! really! Nothing bad to say. Awesome game.

Power Crystals by chispaLBC 2017-08-01T17:32:00Z

At first it was a bit too easy but then it got more challenging when the hooded guys came. I love the art, especially the explosion animation ;)

Losing Troops by Adtberp 2017-07-31T21:58:02Z

I love the idea of the game and I found it to be quite fun! The controls were a little hard to use, cause you had to deselect every time you wanted to select another group. Nice take on the theme, too ;)

Space Miner by ytaha 2017-08-01T00:39:48Z

Cool game! It is a very fun game! There were no dangers, it was very hard to die, but that's not necessary a bad thing. You could add some mines or enemies or and then add some laser weapons in your rocket so then there's more things to worry about and gets more interesting. That's just what I'd do, it's pretty good as it is, actually ;) Good job

First Ludum Dare Submit (Hackerman) by Tiberiusuciu 2017-07-31T20:48:02Z

cool game! Once I got the feel of it it was very fun. But first it was hard to understand the controls. When you hack the door and it unlocks it, I didn't notice the ball changed from green to grey, so I kept hacking for a little more and was very confused. Try making theese things clear. Making it red when its locked, and very visible, and then changing to green maybe, and a sound that makes you understand that something has happened. And making him stop hacking when theres nothing more to hack. However, it's very impressing for your first Ludum Dare! I know there's no time for perfection in short gamejams, but just try to make everything very clear for the player, and try to avoid text for tutorials. Instead of telling the player right away that he can't go through this door and that he must hack it to go through it, show "Press E" when he gets closer to the wall and then use audio and visual effects to make him see what's happening. This way he feels smart for discovering how to do it. Players want to play, not read.

I really liked the stealth mechanics, though sometimes you had to just risk it and run cause the guard wouldn't move out of the way. Maybe making them have defined paths would make would make it more interesting.

Overall, good game!

Battery Low by Freedom Is Slavery 2017-08-01T00:03:18Z

I'm really amazed how addicting and fun this game can be! The difficulty is perfect.

Delivery To The Underpass by Bocodillo 2017-08-03T23:08:46Z

Good game! It was hard to understand that the orange platforms unlock orange doors since you don't really get a chance to interact with the orange door before getting to the orange platform. If the doors and platforms where iconic stuff like keys and doors, it would be intuitive, but since they are not, you have to make sure that the player first sees and tries to interact with the door, then he sees it's closed and then he sees the platform and ideally the door should be visible at the screen when it opens. To make it clearer you should have a happy sound and some satisfiying particles too. That, of course, is only necessary at the first time you show them, to itroduce. Other than that, the level design is pretty good ;) good job!

Run to Dragsil by Nekonemo 2017-08-01T16:53:48Z

Cool game! The idea is very original but it was basicly random if talking to the dog or talking to the magical thing would be the right thing. If there was some kind of logic throughout the game that the player could see and then use it to think every time what action would be better, it would be more interesting. Right now it's pretty much about restarting a lot of times and dieing a lot till you randomly find the best way to go. Other than that, the art was very cool. Good work!

MotherShip by rigdonware 2017-07-31T18:27:56Z

When you die, make it very easy for the player to try again. If you put the quit button over the main button, youre saying to the player "go ahead, quit". If you put a "quick restart" button on top, the player would uncounciously keep playing for hours and hours, and that's what we developers want. Also, to increase difficutly it's usually better to put more enemies with little hp than few enemies with a lot of hp. Mechanics-wise its the same, but the player feels better cause he feels like a heroor god or something. Also, its very important to have screenshake, particles, flashes and some death animation when an enemy dies. Every time the player kills an enemy, you have to reward him with these little things that will make him feel awesome, unconciously

Marvin's Message by ryluu 2017-08-03T22:47:49Z

The art is very cool. Especially the use of colour to make contrast between the bg and foreground. The gameplay was very unfair when (i think its at level 3) there are some rocks that you can press space to make them fall, and right after that you see that they block your path. And you have to restart the level and waste about 15 seconds just for that. When designing games, think about the player's experience. It's not about making the player think "oh, the developer was very genius to make such level" but making him think "oh I'm so smart to figure this level out!". And, in general, making the player feel good. I'm not saying "never make the player fail", but make it fair and close to the checkpoint. If you look at most platformers the first time you die you have a checkpoint right behind you.

Attack on battery by FabulousDesu 2017-08-02T11:40:18Z

Awesome game! at first I didn't know that you could pick up the batteries with the right click but once I got it it was a lot of fun. I'd recommend putting the controls in the page

Attack on battery by FabulousDesu 2017-08-02T11:40:46Z

I just realised the controls are actually there xD

S.O.S(Spaceship Out of Supplies) by Sancho 2017-07-31T21:52:40Z

Hey! I recommend you opt out of humor cause you don't really have any jokes in there, this way it won't be taken into account when giving you the score, and you'll score higher!

As for the game, it's one of the funnest games I've found in this Ludum Dare! The difficulty curve is very good, at first you can just mess up but then when you start getting comfortable with the controls you have to start being more careful and using the laser! However, there was one level I just couldn't beat! The rocks were spinning too fast and there were too many rocks! I think this game would be even better if the controls were more precise more direct. I see that the drag-y movement is part of the experience, cause you're in space, but the you shouldn't expect very precise and quick movements from the player. Then maybe the laser could be more powerful or the spining rocks could go slower.

I really found myself quite addicted to that game! Good job :)

The P.U.R.G.E. Protocol by hhsaez 2017-07-31T20:57:00Z

Love the idea! Very original take on the theme

Forgetting Things by player2point0 2017-07-31T20:25:06Z

Awesome game! Most original take on the theme that I've seen xD The concept is very original too, but I think you could have gone a little further level-design-wise. If the square forgets things, maybe make a level where he forgets how to walk (you can just jump and there are moving platforms that move you). Making the levels a little bigger, going deeper into the idea of forgetting an ability. The level design was not bad, though. The learning curve was good, too. The last level was a bit hard. Maybe a level about moving stuff to get used to it before would've made the learning curve even softer. Good job, you're gonna win the "theme" ratings!

I really wanna play this but my antivirus doesn't want me to!! Could you please upload it as a zip or rar file? This way more people like me will play it instead of going to the next.

The Breach by Vlad Chechyotkin 2017-08-01T18:28:39Z

The art is amazing and the idea is very original. But it was a bit frustrating and boring to go through all those platforms and waste almost all your energy just to hit an enemy twice and then die and do the same. If the spawner was closest to the action it would be better. Maybe some checkpoints would've been great. Other than that, everything is awesome, especially the music ;). Really, I really liked it a lot once I opened the first gate.

Power Down by Levi Willrich 2017-07-31T18:37:29Z

I like the mechanics. The fact that moving in the air is cheaper than breaking walls makes you think the best path to get a lot of minerals. But it is very unbalanced, so after 10 seconds or so I stopped caring about making the shortest path because I had too much power. I guess tweaking a couple variables you could balance it more. I really see some potential in the idea, I think it can be improved a little adding more stuff like different minerals so the player has to think hard to guess which mineral should he go for first. Even powerups.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

you are the coin master by Sean S. LeBlanc 2017-12-20T16:22:33Z

I found the distortion very annoying. I think games can be hard in a challenging way, which is fun, or they can be hard in an annoying, unfair way. Games that are hard the second way are very easy to make: you can flip the players controls or put invisible traps or distort their vision or just kill them randomly or simply increase the number of enemies. But a real challenge, I think, is beyond that. A true challenge forces the player to develop skill in a nice learning curve, or to spend some time thinking about a solution,... Other than that, the game without the distortion was very beautiful, the music was cool too. Maybe the slippery movements and low jump were a bit annoying too though

Shiny Dream by Peredom 2017-12-07T12:07:24Z

@secretpocketcat yeah, the upgrades are supposed to last. THis way there's some progress to be made and adds variety, cause else some players might get bored buying the same stuff again and again... But maybe it would be more fun if you had that risk/reward thing going on... Usually I would try all different versions and see which is more interesting and fun, but there was no time for play-testing! ;) glad youliked it!

Shiny Dream by Peredom 2017-12-21T10:45:29Z

@notime4games Thanks for the feedback! I think the cause of slowdowns might have been enemy stacking. I should have programmed it so the enemies despawn when they're far away! And yeah, the money starts being useful when you reach the throne, but before that you can spend it on upgrades, and when you get them all then you should avoid it.

@finntastico thanks for letting me know!

@4Knights Thank you for playing!! <3

Shiny Dream by Peredom 2017-12-27T23:30:54Z

@terakorp comment above is 4 you <3

Shiny Dream by Peredom 2017-12-29T00:41:45Z

@pkenney Thanks for the revieww!! :D I dunno what you mean by the jumping thing... But I did put quite an effort on making the controls responsive and satisfying :) I agree the ledge-grab sucks hahahah cause you can actually jump very fucking high, so theres no need for that ledge grab and it just slows down the game... Lesson learnt: sometimes you dont have to put all the tricks into the game, and different games will require different controls.

Glad I got you hooked! xD I think the shop and upgrades give a sense of growth and also a curiosity that makes players want to keep playing. ANd of course I like to reward the player for his time by giving him a new challenge after they won.

And I really agree that the player shouldnt be holding a button all the time. Actually I've pointed that out in other games, but I didnt realise I was making the same "mistake"... And I dont know what the right way to fix it would be... maybe auto-firing or maybe some bullets stuff... but I'm not a fan of bullets... I thought about knockback but then your jumps would be different if you were shoooting or not so some people might get frustrated by that...

anyway.. thanks for the comment dude, it really helps when someone looks into your game and really thinks about it, and give you a good, deep comment. :)

Game's cool! If you weren't under the effect of any substance when you made it, then I gotta say you're very fucking creative dude! I loved the talk they have at the beggining, and the game mechanics seemed cool, but I kept spawning in the first level so I just saw that one :(

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-20T15:58:59Z

It's a grreat game! it is pretty fair and the learning curve is nice. It's one of those games where you learn from every "run", and get better. The only flaw there is is that when you are breaking the tall piles of boxes, it takes quite a long time, so somtimes a box will fall over you and you cant move. It's so unfair cause getting a high pile is hard and when you get it, theres a big reward (2500 ponits! i think) but theres a chance that you will die unfairly. Also controls are fucking weird ahahahha why not make it just the arrows, or maybe spacebar or enter xD

Other than thta the game is very fun

Just eat just enough by zeu31 2017-12-22T17:46:20Z

I made a big score but I didnt see it cause the score numbers are so small! I realised there actually was a score when I read the comments and ppl saying their score... And also healthbar was very small, and kinda hard to tell how many shots left you had. So I'd say, make GUI bigger and more visible. Other than that, the gameplay could have a bit of polish, or more enemies. I freakin loved the sound effects! How did you make them?

A simple man by edmond00 2017-12-21T11:14:05Z

interesting game! It was very cool the sense of exploration that it gave me at the begining, but then it became kinda boring when I had to find bamboo and cherries and I was in a rocky biome, and then I reached the end of the map and I still hadnt found any bamboo, so I quit cause I didnt wana go back and waste like 2 minutes just to get to a normal biome. So the world limit sucks. And having nothing to do in a specific biome also sucks if you happen to be there. A solution might be being able to run faster so you can get out of those biomes, or giving the player more stuff to do so they can always do something in any biome. I really liked the concept. There arent many real exploration games out there, and this one I think has the potential to become a cool exploration game

OverPowered! by Sir Mr Dr Prof Sr Jr PhD 2017-12-21T00:20:02Z

Great idea, great game, shitty graphics.

I recognised that procedural music in the first 2 seconds! ahahha I used to use that procedural music thinking it was saving me time in ludum dare, but actually you still need a couple hours to make it sound decent, and you probably have spent some more hours learning about that software that makes the music for you. I really think all this time would be better spent trying to improve your real skills in making simple music with FLstudio or some other program. I think a simple track with a couple chiptune chords and some base is much better than the random notes of the procedural music. Not only that, but if you start making your music you will progress, and you will get a skill for the rest of your life.

ALso, the tutorial had too many words (you wanna keep tutorials with least words as posible, ideally none). Things that will be instantly seen by the player (like "this powerup even bounces once!", the player will see that), you don't need to say those in the tutorial. I understand you didnt have time to make a super-dope tutorial, but anyway it was so fucking colorful I almost died when I opened it! xD Also the size of the different instructions was different: some lines were bigger than others without any reason. It made it look unprofessional.

I really think you could further develop this game and even sell it if you added some better sprites, gamefeel, polished gameplay and a decent tutorial xD

Great idea, great game. It is very fun, but the page blocks my controls sometimes. SOmetimes my left or right arrow gets stuck and I lose control till I press that button again. And mouse keeps selecting the text in the page. I dont know how that could be programmed, but in pages like Newgrounds that doesn't happen. Still, great game!

Dude looks dope! The gameplay might be boring but the graphics are awesome! Musics pretty cool too!

Vlambeer talk about this: If you don't lose anything when you are not shooting, then why even have a shooting button? If you dont lose bullets, and theres no knockback it could be just shooting all the time nonstop 24/7

LD40 - SirPumpy by SirPumpy 2017-12-27T23:27:19Z

@sirpumpy Cool that sounds more fun! YOu can make a great game with that with some gameplay polish dude! Good luck with it!!!

Sugar Addiction by Landford 2017-12-21T10:55:58Z

The game is very beautiful and fun, but controls are a bit uncomfortable cause you cant move once you've jumped. Even if it's not "realistic", at the end of the day what matters is that it FEELS good. You should let the player move horizontally when theyre in the air for more control. Restart didnt work for me and I had to close and open the game to play again xD

I realy liked the idea of getting fat and therefor losing jump height. Level design was a bit poor. Art was nice. GUI was very technical, too many numbers, these symbols[] and decimals make it not appealing for average people. But we are programmers so its ok XD. I understand theres not much time for that in a 48 hour jam, but GUI should match the game theme. If it was about robots it might have been ok, but if your art is cartoonish and colorful and childish, the gui should match.

Awesome game! Very fun and loved the art! so cute :3

Don't get drunk by tulipekoni 2017-12-10T15:39:55Z

Cool idea but it's almost impossible when you go fast. Why see half the screen of whats behind the guy? In these games its better to see more what you have in front of you

Great game dude! Simple but polished! I love how you always make everything fit in style and mood, from the art to the fonts and music

Zlinx by frontlinesaint 2018-08-14T07:51:59Z

Interesting gameplay. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you did the first jump or not, so it'd be useful if the first jump had different effects/sounds.

Space Run by mitsu.artemius 2018-08-13T15:06:26Z

Nice game! The powerups are cool cause they give you a reason to keep playing. Also the new planets, but maybe if there were more variation with the planets (new enemies...) and more upgrades I would've played till the end. Btw, in Game Maker when you export you can hit "single time executable" and we wont have to install it, try to do that next time please :)

LD54 — Limited Space

Droplet Dungeon by aucguy 2023-10-20T13:14:01Z

Interesting concept. Move speed is too low. Continuous spawns of enemies doesn't work well with the continuous attack (i.e. tons of small particles instead of more typical, more infrequent, more damaging projectiles); instead, enemy spawns should be more infrequent, maybe in batches, so there's an assymetry in the timing, and you can use the "down times" to attack more safely. Or the enemy spawns could depend on player proximity, or some other indirectly controllable thing.

Next time put tutorial in-game. Thanks.

uniVersus by Substain 2023-10-20T14:25:15Z

Fun concept. Wait times between games are a bit too long. Just allow skiping everything.

Kung Fu Alien by betovf 2023-10-20T14:05:24Z

Nice concept for a simple game. Reactions are too slow, it's annoying. Make the movements much faster. Controls should work with keyboard.

S. P. Ace Ltd by Cookie_CHR 2023-10-20T12:31:14Z

Nice concept. Levels are too easy. In penultimate level there are like 2 free spaces. Could be developed further. Improve UI. Having to click back and forth the same item when you wana place multiple is stupid.

Pickle Packer by Tiseno 2023-10-20T13:38:34Z

You could've tried to make this work instead of making a joke. Just have an area where the pickles don't fall, so you can use it to tidy your jars. Or a way to delete pickles to avoid overload. Ideally have a key or two keys to rotate the object you're grabbing. And just make it possible to make money and progress. Just try man, it's funny anyway with the physics and the pickles.

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-20T14:36:00Z

Nice little game. Would be better if you could rotate the incomming piece yourself, with Q and E for example. The thing about going into the walls to rotate doesn't seem to work very well: I trigger it when I dont want to and when I do want it, I'm sometimes too far to make it on time and back to the right position. Especially when you've filled half the screen already so things fall faster.

Farmer Bob by Tod Semple 2023-10-20T14:15:51Z

Nice little game. I could imagine a 3 hour game based on these kind of simple mechanics and a lot of possible combinations and actions, and having to figure out how to get things you want...

Cell Caster by Ethan Goldreyer 2023-10-20T14:01:42Z

Good game! - I think all the mechancis are well thought out and work well together, but I think the game design is a little cluttered. You're asking the player to put their attention in too many different things. - You could get rid of the counter that kills you. You already have 2 things that kill you: enemies and your shots, so focus on that, and make more dangerous enemies (maybe they shoot at you?) if it's not hard enough. Or make enemies persistent instead of going away, and keep them building up if you don't shoot. Maybe another option just to avoid idleness would be to have a counter that makes you shoot automatically if you don't shoot for more than 5 or 10 seconds. - And the blue bar automatically depleting is a little confusing and annoying. Just keep it full, and let me use it whenever I want. It's still not ideal to keep it full for too long, because you're losing potential blue points by not emptying it and letting it fill again. Maybe you could also even purge that mechanic by making enemies shoot "orb purging" bullets at you, that you can use to clear the room if they miss. - So yeah, I'd say you need to focus more on the core of the game. The fun is in movement, dodging and shooting carefully. So strengthen that. - There's not enough time to react to the automatic weapon change. And I think it might be more fun if the weapon didn't change as quickly. So I'd say, either (1) show the next weapon, like in tetris where you see the next pieces, or (2) make the weapon changes come from pickups that appear in the world, maybe static or maybe passing by like the enemies. - I'd change the insta-death for 3 lives. It's annoying as a player when my focus and flow are broken just by a small mistake. Let me feel the pain of the mistake, so I can learn, but let me keep going so I can continue the fun. At least use the lives for when an enemy hits you; but maybe you could keep the insta death for when you move into the balls.

Maxwell's Demon by TPace 2023-10-20T13:25:09Z

Too hard to understand. Make tutorial more understandable and UI as well. 3D confusion also unnecessary. A tutorial stage without a timer would also help.

Sushi Puzzle Party by daniboygg 2023-10-20T12:23:05Z

Not challenging at all when you have much space. Make boxes smaller and add obstacles to the boxes, or add more food shapes so there is an actual challenge. UI needs to be more convenient to use. I'd make the selected item automatically switch to the next item in the list of what you have to fit. Rotation could be Q and E, I think it'd be more intuitive. Selecting specific item could be allowed still, but since it'd be rare, use less accessible keys like arrow keys or whatever. GUI could be simplified and made more readable.

Implant by fredial 2023-10-20T13:32:12Z

- Nice graphics. - Controls suck. 99% of my mental effort is spent on coordinating the right keyboard presses with the mouse click. If it's supposed to be a puzzle game, controls should be intuitive so I can just think and act about the puzzle. - Got stuck, had to restart game and eat all the intro again. Escape didn't work and I didn't find a way to restart.

Detachment Undone by Gossioss 2023-10-20T13:02:19Z

- Controls are akward: when you drag a thing and it merges or something, then it stops being dragged, but there's no feedback, so the amount of time it'll take you to figure out when it has been detached from your mouse cursor is unpredictable. So, if you had a sound, for example, the exact moment the two balls merge and your ball detaches from the mouse, then I could know I have to click again and just click to grab it again (because that's usually what I wana do, just carry the same ball around merging it with everything, which is a shame that that is how you beat the game). Also make the balls merge from farther, so it's easier. Better yet, don't detach my grabbed ball from my mouse cursor when they merge, if the most common thing I'll wana do is grab it again! Help the player out with the UI.

- Game is not challenging at all.

- Game design is unfocused; is it about click reflexes? is it about strategy and thought? Is it about discovering the rules? Is it aobut conveying a narrative? Pick one and do it well, and smooth out everything else. Seems like you're just forcing some narrative/story/abstract conclusion into the game mechanics, and that's why they are not fun.
