I love physics-based games; they remind me of 'Stick Fight.' I have a good feeling about it, except for the jar reversing—it makes me shed a tear when it goes from full to empty just before selling; it can be somewhat anarchistic! I'm not sure if you used the vanilla Love2D physics (Box2D) or another engine, but it's very well-configured. I found the physics to be really stable! Well done ! 😉

I discovered a technique which I call the 'Jar Jar Beens.' It involves spawning multiple jars to compel the physics to do the job. It works sometimes... PICKLE.png

Very original game, I loved playing it.

- pretty interesting idea, I liked the physics of the pickles and some of the chaos. - The game became too chaotic too quickly, it's fun to watch the world drown in pickles, but up to a point, the sell area also gets overrun by pickles pretty fast, especially when you try to move your jars there, making it even harder. - It felt weird having only 20$ where the jar is 15 while some jars don't give you that much money, you might want to consider raising the jared pickle price to 2$ instead, I spent a lot of time trying to squeeze the pickles together to at least get the money back for the jar, but I went -4$.

Nice idea. Fits quite good with the theme

I'M PICKLE RIIIIIIIIICK!!! (sorry xd it had to be said)

While packing pickles is no joke, this game shows it can be fun. The core gameplay is there, just missing the win/lose conditions and balancing. Theme of the event is clearly taken into consideration and executed well. Visuals are extremely simple but the color choices are nice. Solid entry for a one person project, keep it up.

I loved this! I think it might have been a bit overly difficult, but I think that's kinda the point as well, and made it fit the theme better. I loved messing with the physics and throwing pickles around. Very fun!

The game is interesting, it was quite nice to play it, keep working on it and everything will be cool

It was fun playing around with all those pickles. Nice play with the theme - I didn't have access to a mouse, but had a touchscreen, so I really felt immersed in the little game, trying to stuff as many pickles in the jars as possible. I was just too slow, the screen got filled with pickles really soon. Ran out of space eventually, that crushed the physics engine. ^^ But I had fun. Thanks for your game.

I think I should get into the jar industry instead of the pickle industry, it seems more lucrative. Very fun game though! I loved scooping up a ton of pickles with the jar and cramming it into the sell area. I'm not sure if it was a bug or intended, but the spawn rate slowed down a lot when the room was almost full so it became pretty much impossible to lose at some point.

Physics game are always fun, good job !

I envision this would be an excellent minigame for a warioware style game. Very silly and very fun. I love that it's basically impossible to turn a profit. The only winning move is not to pack pickles.

The game was fun and chaotic, whenever there was just that one little vertical space that I could not fill, agh lol. Much fun!

cool game, keep up the good work

Enjoyable game, very good fit with the theme as the room fills quickly with pickles. Kind of odd how every jar costs $15 but some are so small you can only fit like $6 worth of pickles; I could see it being fun to add multiple size options to pick from of different costs which might be more useful in different situations. I see a lot of potential!

madbarron 2023-10-15 23:07

Extremely frustrating but in an almost funny way. I feel like the jars should only cost $5 and it would be nice to have a keyboard shortcut for buying and selling jars. Creative concept

tiseno 2023-10-16 06:22

@madbarron hotkeys for buying/selling is a very good idea, that did not occur to me at all during development

This is a fun game.

magnanix 2023-10-19 12:18

Interesting take on the theme, my wrist is definitely complaining after fighting against crazy pickle and jar physics XD. The start confused me as there didn't feel like a way to sell for more that 7-9$ when the jars cost 15$, maybe that was just my poor pickle packing skills though. I agree with the other comments, hotkeys might have come in handy (especially late in the game when pickles start pushing the jars our of the receptacle XD!). Nice work, even if it isn't fully complete!

You could've tried to make this work instead of making a joke. Just have an area where the pickles don't fall, so you can use it to tidy your jars. Or a way to delete pickles to avoid overload. Ideally have a key or two keys to rotate the object you're grabbing. And just make it possible to make money and progress. Just try man, it's funny anyway with the physics and the pickles.
