Pretty cool game! I think the artstyle is really good and the player is controlling very smoothly. It's fun to play and you did a really good job with the game. A few things I noticed: 1) I had phases where next to nothing spawned and I just ran around aimlessly. Then something spawned on the other end of the map and I got hit constantly until I could get there. That felt pretty unfair. 2) The SFX are a bit too loud and the music is a bit annoying after a while. 3) The 'Wave' text is flashing so quickly that you can easily miss it if you blink. Other than that I really like your game.

Lovely idea and a nice use of time in terms of scope. Really cute characters! I thought the overall gameplay worked well and felt fun. I would have liked the camera to extend a bit to where your aim was in addition to it simply following the player character but it wasn't too much of an issue. Again, super cute.. Great job!
A solid game! The art is very well designed and suits the theme so well. Everything was sharp and easily distinguishable, a big plus for me. Audio was pleasant with nice music. Good pacing and sharp controls made it very enjoyable to play. I had some problems with jittery movement mid-jump and the fact that to get any power-ups I had to leave the target completely undefended.
I like the level of polish, and great vibe. Evetrything in this game: art, sounds, gameplay, work great together and you have preaty complete product, that look and plays great. Only bad thing for me, was camera movement, because enemies could get behing my back, and I wouldn't see them until too late
Thanks to everyone for the comments, I really appreciate the feedback! @zelos I'm afraid I know what you mean with the enemy spawning, because the spawners are randomly placed I didn't have the time to make sure that it always worked out. And the wave text thing was a bug that I was in no position to solve at the time. But thank you for taking the time to play it and I'm glad that you otherwise liked it!
@drestuff @kabalatrance The camera was indeed one of my greatest issues and I had already lost too much time tweaking it. Nevertheless, thanks to both for your nice comments and feedback!

I love most everything about this game, I just thought it was awesome. My biggest problem was that if you wanted the camera angle to remain like that, you really shouldn't have that bottom lane. You can't really see monsters coming from the bottom until you about walk into them. On the other hand, you probably could keep everything as is and simply move the camera to a much closer over the shoulder third person view.
Overall for a compo game especially, I just thought it was great and a lot of fun.
Neat game! Like the mechanics and the idea of defending.

Did you consider an alternative way how to use powerups - like you can collect them first, and then activate with hotkeys. Because now I'm forced to collect them and waste on low waves, or keep them and in case of immergency rapidly jump accross the platforms while 4-5 enemies killing my heart
Also I did not notice the bottom platforms at the beginning due to cam angle. But I don't think that you should change it, just maybe a quick zoom out / zoom in between the waves to give an overall view on all the platforms.
Game feels consistent in term of art, style, humor and gameplay.
https://youtu.be/rkzQ782GdaA - here is my playtest.
@icxon thanks for your suggestions, those are actually some great ideas! The pickups were the last thing to add, only as a means to spice up the gameplay a bit, so I didn't think their functionality trough. Nevertheless, thanks for your comment and for taking the time to try my game! :D
Great game ! My first impressive was that the graphics looks really nice. It's pretty impressive all the enemies you created, power ups and the whole environment. Thats quite a thing to pull off. Gratz.
I was missing a bit of challenge and I kinda felt cheated when I felt of the platform and just died because it was going so well :/
Really nice entry, the music is also spot on :)
Lots of fun! Fairly traditional, but well executed. Great variety in the enemy types. They were all distictive in both form and function. Loved the recoil forcing caution to avoid falling. That speed powerup is suicide, though, lol. The background elements are superb! I'm honestly shocked as to how well dressed this scene is.
@ryte2byte yeah, the speed powerup was not my best design choice, but I should stop the player from spamming bullets somehow :P Thank you for your feedback, it is very much appreciated =]
Nice game, the music fit it well. Let me tell you as a biology student that your interpretation of the immune system isn't as inaccurate you may think:)
@toonteamj I knew it! Deep down I was sure that leucocytes carry laser guns :P Nevertheless, thank you for your comment and for playing my game! :D
Ah so fun! This is similar to one of the ideas we had when we were starting. Thanks for the game! I love the sound and the gameplay, very fun. Is it compatable with a controller? Feels like it would play a lot better that way. Great job!
@alex-williams Thank you for your comments! It probably would play better with a controller but I didn't think of adding support for that. And also I didn't have much more time to do that, especially since the way the player rotates is really hacky and unstable as it is :P
I had quite a bit of fun with this. The graphics were good, I liked the brightly colored enemies. It really made them easy to distinguish. I wasn't a huge fan of the recoil from the laser on such thin catwalks, but it didn't prevent me from enjoying the game. Great job!
A really simple and cute game! The controls felt good, although the angle of the camera made it hard to see when enemies were coming from the bottom. The aiming felt a bit off, but it wasn't bad enough to stop me from playing. The powerups being in hard to reach places was a good design choice, forcing players to take risks. Overall, a cathartic and enjoyable experience~

Very polished game, I didn't come across any bug. Music is preety good, sfx is great. Graphics and animations are also very good. I really liked it!

A nice simple game!
REVIEW =====================================
-Gameplay It was really solid, and fit really well. It was not just good to play, but fun (yes there is a difference to me) The gameplay was really well executed, and had me coming for more over and over. It was really interesting running around with all the blood cells, trying to save whoever's body I was in xD The gameplay had a certain level of depth to it with the powerups and such.
-Innovation: The idea itself was very solid. Theme was small world, and we were inside a person, in the microscopic level saving them. Very well put together. The gameplay itself was just the normal shoot em up style, but still put together well
-Theme As said above, it fit the theme pretty well.
-Audio This part was not shabby at all! The overall SFX and music were very nice additions.
OVERALL =====================================
If you add more content and polish, I'm pretty sure you could go places with this game. Overall it was a nice shoot em up style game that had held its title by being cool in its ideas. (idk if that sounds right)
@kataware What a nice and complete review! :D Thank you so much for your comments! ^^
Fantastic job! Game was a lot of fun and amazing that you got it to such a level of polish! I loved the models and their little changing faces when they got shot! Right from the get go from the menu (lovely) to the main game I was smiling.
I liked the little touches as well, like when firing it pushes your character back a bit. All adds to the polish feeling I got from playing this game.
Sound effects were nice, and the visual effects of exploding cells was also great.
A lot of fun, and very impressive!
Thanks for creating and sharing.
@binaryferret thank you for taking the time to play and to comment! I really wanted to invest in the game feel and the polish, I'm a bit obsessed with this kind of stuff, although it does not always work to my advantage :P I'm glad you liked it though! :D
Fun game! This felt really polished for a 3d game in a game jam. (Esp. the compo!) I got to wave 7 before dying.
I didn't have issues with spawn rates or anything. The difficulty grew as I got to later levels. It seemed to work quite well.
It would have been really nice to have a way to regain health for your heart - maybe just another pickup or something. Also, trapping the mouse would have been good. I got knocked out of the game 3-4 times because I clicked outside the unity window. (I use 3 monitors on my desktop, so that's why) That said, this didn't hurt my enjoyment of the game.
Well done; thanks for a fun game!
@cppchriscpp Actually there was a pickup that replenishes some of the heath for the heart, but maybe it didn't spawn for you (it's random between the 3 pickups). Working on my small laptop screen I didn't think about mouse trapping, and I didn't lock the cursor because my stupid aiming system relied on where the cursor is :P But thank you for your comments and feedback, I'm glad you liked it! :D

Fun little game! But there is too much red for me!
@mikea well it IS set inside the human body :P I could make a really creepy homicidal joke here, but I opt not to :P
Ah, I was wondering if I might've just missed it. Good to know!
This was really fun to play! I do like that shooting has a bit of recoil so you have to be careful when you're around the edges (I made the mistake of shooting in mid-air while I was jumping between platforms and ended up falling :( )
I think with these kinds of games where you have waves, it's better for it to be more challenging than too easy. I felt like a lot of the earlier waves were very straightforward and very hard to lose. What kept me going was just watching the cool enemies/animations/particle effects.
One thought that occurred to me: it would be nice if I could move the camera since at first it seemed like more enemies were coming from the south. I think there's probably a lot you could do with the camera. You could keep it fixed and have it rotate by 45 degrees each wave, to kind of focus the player attention to a new perspective/area of the arena, so it feels fresh and changes things a little bit. Just an idea!
@omarshehata I know what you mean about the difficulty of the waves, you are completely right! The first waves however was my attempt of showing the different enemy types in a smooth way so that the player can get familiar with them, before throwing them all in. I'm well aware that the camera angle was a problem, but the idea with the camera is really good, I didn't think of that! Nevertheless, thank you for playing and for taking the time to leave me some feedback, I really appreciate it! :D

Lots of work here for a compo game, so well done! I like that the art is consistent, nice low-poly models and colourful too.
I actually liked the camera angle, it has a cinematic feel but it does leave you at a bit of a disadvantage to enemies coming from the lower right.
I think all of my deaths were due to falling off of platforms because I was shooting in midair and got knocked back by recoil. But that was just me being dumb. Still had plenty of fun with this!
@garethiw I'm glad you're willing to blame yourself about it, but the whole jumping and shooting wasn't really well implemented :P I added the """platforming""" elements late in the game, so the jumping was hastily added, and the recoil from shooting mid-air became really deadly. But I'm happy to hear that you had fun nonetheless! :D
An awesome entry with stunning visuals and fun audio. I found the knockback from shooting too intense, especially when having picked up a speed powerup. Also, as mentioned above, jumping and shooting gets you dead nearly every time. I didn't quite get the point of being able to move around since my most successful tactic consisted of just standing right in the middle of the map.

Lovely graphics, well made game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDPVuoHG3u8
@gurkenlabs Thank you for your feedback! I guess staying in the middle works pretty well, I haven't tried it to be honest :P I believed that the pickups would motivate the player to move, and if they didn't, the bouncers would force you to :P But I guess that depends on the type of player. In any case, thanks for taking the time to play and rate the game! :D

Love the visuals. Very cool game, defo work on it more! :)
Interesting game. Oh god the knock-back got me so many times. Maybe I liked it more if there was no platforming so the knock-back wasn't so punishing.
But in any case it was a fun game, and I enjoyed resisting for as long as could.
Nice job!

One tip for you... (Made the same mistake - And it's regarding the ldjam game page not your game) If you write comments on your own page this results in wrong counting on the "feedback friends" as far as I know. But as I see now you have a lot of comments and ratings anyway.
Awesome. Your project reminds me a movie for kids which I have seen more or less 15 years ago - Osmosis Jones. If you have not see it, I suggest you to take a look at this movie so as to work on your game. I like the aesthetic and the main gameplay which fits with the theme. I think that you could improve mechanics, but in less than 72 hours, this game is amazing. Well done. Thumbs up. Highly rated ++

Woohoo, this was fun!
I only stopped playing because I'm playing and rating at work :D
Really impressed by the level of polish and mechanics you got in for 48 hours.
Not sure if it's worth pursuing for further development since it will end up being "just another shooter", but maybe I'm being a little too pessimistic now
Art was on point, music kept me on edge and the blast sounds were satisfying (maybe a little more base to increase impact, but that's a minor detail).
Overall, really nice and fun game!
This game is really well made! I love the character design (especially for the main character). I think red blood cells would be more appropriate if less "polygonal". The effect used when enemies hit the heart is a bit too strong, but it definitely attracts the player attention! Amazing level of polish overall. Great entry!

I really like your game! Kudos for you doing this all by yourself. I liked how every disease had different stats and behaviour. I actually fell off the platform in my first try because I didn't realize the shooting pushed me back a little, but once I got used to it, it kind of added to the gameplay and I used it to manoeuvrer around. The camera didn't really work well for me though, sometimes diseases were hard to spot because they were behind the heart, and I felt that the diseases that came from beneath were too close already when they appeared on the screen. Overall a very nice, funny and well polished game. Great work!

Oh my, this is so cute! Even the sounds are cute. This is really one of my favorites so far. I like the artstyle, the mechanics were really intuitive and it ran smoothly. Totally adorable. <3
Nice. Really enjoyed the graphic style and it felt nice to play. Impressive for 48hrs!

Neat ! I love the funny & cute graphics. Amazing thing can be done in 48h, great work :)
Awesome game, love the theme. The game plays rather well, loved the controls and the idea  The graphics are nice, even though everything is red; it doesnt really clash. Nice wave system and overal a lovely time waster!
