LD38 — A Small World

A Bloody Small World by blinry 2017-05-01T14:42:57Z

Very cute and quite fun! the only problem was that sometimes the little blood cells would get stuck somewhere and I'd just have to keep going until I found them again. If I passed by somewhere that needed oxygen at this time the game would add the oxygen as if all the little cells were there.

Small World by Calzep 2017-05-01T20:13:03Z

I somehow didn't even notice the talk option at first! I just kept killing to get money so I could get recruits and kill more so I could heal by leveling up. Oooops.

But once I noticed the talk option I went almost full pacfist (just had to see what happens when one fights someone one talked to).

It's interesting.

Though does no one in this small world have friends?

Finding your loved one by Laaph 2017-05-11T22:25:34Z

A cute and interesting idea! I am just going to note a couple of things that I didn't see mentioned:

I think it would be a good idea to move the tutorial point about getting bigger meaning you can jump higher to the point where you are told about the cookies in the first place. I had to work out that I could eat the big cookie again in order to be able to jump to the next platform and not just get stuck on a rock. and at one point I ate two small cookies and wound up attached to the bottom of a platform, upside down until I ate a big cookie.

If you use this to make something better or just use what you learned here to make new things, good luck! You could make some very interesting things!

An Adventurer's Exodus by Aggrathon 2017-05-01T19:56:49Z

An interesting battle system. It could be better tied together themantically, the 3D tiles and the 2D drawn aesthetics don't really gel well, but I only really noticed that once I thought about it. Having to take into account that abilities may not be usuable once you select them or at the beginning of battle was a challenge.

The equipment system was a bit hard to work out: it's not immediately obvious that when you buy something it's equipped to the relevant character.

Still, fun!

The world is (a) flat by Jordgubben 2017-05-01T15:49:00Z

A little silly, but I was able to work out what to do in the end!

50ft by 50ft (or How I Died In Space) by RockhopperGames 2017-05-11T21:58:24Z

Quite interesting, and I liked how you played with the medium itself. The best twine games tend to do that. And the story of course.

I found one bug when I was thinking of friends, and I think I chose the last option when thinking of friends, and it was about someone called "Jose".

I don't know why he chose me as a The (link-reveal:) command should be assigned to a variable or attached to a hook.►This tagged hook doesn't have a matching ].►We shared an house for a while, and he decided that he liked me.

It seems to me like when you die you become one of the skeletons that the next 'you' would face.

Quite simple, the 'fighting noise' is satisfying even though the combat could easily be worked on for more satisfaction mechanically. Just a little more complexity or variety (combos? dodge?) would help a lot.

The graphics work well!

A Game with Bees by x1212 2017-05-11T21:38:22Z

For some reason the game seems really zoomed in and I can't zoom out to a reasonable level. It's annoying to have to scroll to one area to interact and then scroll to another just to see stats. Firefox, windows 10.

I am not sure how the comedic timing rating works at all. Funny little graphics at least with good animation!

A World In Her Eye by OrbitalBlueprint 2017-05-01T17:15:41Z

Kinda cute and I was a bit gutted when I couldn't go back to get the robot some biofuel because of the time. I'd played the pre-deadline version and it ran at a consistant 59fps. I found that a bit funny since your description said it was best experienced at 60fps. I do like the music of this and am glad you provided a download.

I also enjoyed the story when I got the full version with the Calm mode.

A very cute little game! I shared it with a friend whom I think would really like it.

Rain Climber by Katana314 2017-04-24T20:03:06Z

Surprisingly fun and cute!

Ctrl + S the World! by Fury 2017-05-16T10:43:52Z

Interesting little concept! It took me a while before I managed to get a swipe that took out the blue planets but even so I was able to survive a while! It would be cool to see this mechanic in other things.

Galactic Girl and the Puzzle Planets by GerardB 2017-05-01T13:17:19Z

I like the ideas of this but I find the double jump too inconsistant to work right. I find that when I manage the double jump I can't then change direction. The art is good to and I do want to be able to find out more.

Sandblocks by stokori 2017-05-01T19:13:21Z

Still quite fun!

Why Go Outside? by epiplon 2017-05-01T19:36:04Z

It was quite easy to work out what to do once I went insane once from attempting to call the Ex. The effect of going insane was fun if a bit eye searing for me. And it was, like other have said, a bit fiddly to work with the phone.

@testlab @tommyflower @gerardb

Thank you all! I will have to think about how to add some more interactivity should I ever do a post ludum dare remake.

The Glass Marble Tour by icecheetah 2017-05-16T10:30:02Z

@zelos Thank you! I will improve the graphics when I make a post ludum dare version. @kevtukk Thank you! I will announce any releases of a remake here. @bunnery Thank you! I will definitely be working more with these characters. @scornz Thank you! I am glad you could relax with this game! @dark-power Thanks. Since it was my first time I focused more on story, now that I know more about how much I can do I will certainly make more in depth mechanics for future ludum dare efforts. @candlesan Thank you! And I do hope to make more games! @lord-bobyness thank you very much! @rockhoppergames Thank you! That is an interesting idea (and Ellen, at least, would be willing to do that!) @aggrathon Thank you! @r8berto, @vivoubos and @spaceman Thanks! I am thinking of how to add more interaction and puzzles already.

Insufficient Data by lord-bobyness 2017-05-12T16:25:46Z

I love "The Last Question", and so I didn't expect the ending (though I don't know if I had just played so bad at the colonising the universe bit that I got the technology stuck at 99% and thus I got a bad ending or if it was meant to be like that).

The colonisation mechanic itself is cool, and I liked the progression even if it suddenly got really hard to keep up energy supply with the rate of consumption (and me wishing I could use the masses of banked energy I had to fuel technology).

Also, the game crashed in the "Solar System Colonisation" stage. Something about an access violation.
