The textures really look pretty nice. Especially the metal ones look very... moist.

zenmumbler 2017-05-01 18:23

Well…, I _am_ an expert in drawing moist textures.

geckoo1337 2017-05-01 20:02

Nice work on textures. I would like a gameplay more exciting than a simple exploration. However I like it ++

Looks great! After a while I discovered that I didn't have to click and drag to look around, when enabling fullscreen. You might want to add that to the description :). Is there something I can interact with, or am I missing something? I'd happily play it again and adjust my rating if I'm missing something haha.

Well done!

zenmumbler 2017-05-02 09:09

Ok, so I've amended the entry text to hopefully make it very clear that this game was hopelessly unfinished and that there is no gameplay beyond walking around.

Thank you all for giving it a spin.

The visual is pretty astonishing (in WebGL in addition !). For the next time as an advice, think firstly of the scenario and gameplay before to start the dev. A game with good gameplay but ugly graphics worths more than a polish game with no gameplay. I didn't want to be rude of course :)

zondarg 2017-05-09 22:16

The graphics are really well done, yes sure there is no real gameplay, but if you declare it being a walking simulator it almost is a finished game ;) maybe add some hints or story that could be revealed by looking into the rooms or at objects to give it some substance. Really, not bad at all!

no luck getting this to run on linux firefox 53.0.2(x64). just a black screen until i gave up waiting after a few minutes

Really cool using your own engine, I was messing around with it but didn't succeed in getting it to run due to lack of the JRE on the machine I use.

fenwick 2017-05-10 03:39

Does look promising, shame you weren't able to finish it. Keep up the good work :).

toulou 2017-05-10 18:38

It could have been a cool base for a game, too bad you didn't finished it. But controlling the camera by clicking and moving the mouse is a really bad idea for me. The classic camera that follow the mouse is way better

nbilyk 2017-05-10 18:47

Too bad I can't vote for graphics, it's perdy. I like the specular highlighting. Needs fire, add fire please.

g12345 2017-05-10 21:25

I voted for innovation... I can't do an 3D engine in html5 yet. Also, it looks shiny.

Hope next LD you can use the engine for something more.

masterkrepta 2017-05-12 22:05

I always find people who embrace the challenge for custom engines interesting. I cannot imagine attempting this at all, let alone for a jam. I really do enjoy the visual, kind of a new age take on retro style graphics.

In regards to the click and hold to look mechanic, it is slightly offputting after years of FPS gameplay experience. HOWEVER... I do think that for a specific type of game mechanic it has potential if implimented well. Imagine a monster that needs you to maintain eye contract with but you need to still examine other things in the level, Ic an see something like that getting points for uniqueness.
