A nice little tower defense game. The toolbar needs some tooltips though to understand which tower is which.

A nice little tower defense game. The toolbar needs some tooltips though to understand which tower is which.
Had a weird bug where the game wouldn't let me place the first tower inside the u-turn on the bottom left of the first map. Otherwise, seems fine.
it's tower defense and that always works, the theme sure makes you think of how you play differently
I did not realize I could fix towers the first time around. I also didn't realize the towers cost money, because I could put down seemingly endless green towers. I lost at wave 10. Then I made it to wave 32 with $3500, that's when I got bored and gave up.
The betrayal mechanic feels a bit tedious, like I have to babysit my towers. The end result is that long-range towers are bad. If there's one thing that I would improve is that the cool thing about tower defense is how you place different towers and how their effects stack, e.g. one slows, the other splash damages, the other has a fast fire rate. If your towers are different, aside from range, I couldn't really tell the difference.
Still was fun to kill dots, and the graphics were really nice and clean. Thank you for the game.
I like the idea of your turrets going rogue for "unstable". I wish they were a bit harder to fix though, it felt like the biggest threat was actually your own towers turning on you, but they were fixed quite easily. Good job overall.
A nice tower defense! The different maps were a nice touch, also the tutorial was well laid out.
All the basic components of a tower defence game are present here. Multiple towers, enemies, gaining money as time goes by.
I wish I had less time to set up and less money at the start, and instead got more money later. I spent all my money on the very first tower I had available and that caused me to not really have money for the other towers that appear later on.
That said, would love to see you work on this more, get a chance to see tooltips on the towers, more effects, etc.
Simple but enjoyable little TD game. I enjoyed the simple art style of it. I think a projectiles from towers would got a long way to make it look even better. The repair being hover over only made it much more enjoyable to play with. The theme execution was okey, nothing ground breaking but it made for spin on the classic genre.
Well made TD game, good job. I like the idea that if you get the better turrets then it makes it even worse when their AI makes them an enemy, good risk-reward
First of all, thanks for playing my game! Quite fun and I personally enjoyed the "unstable" mechanic here! Although people have mentioned the tooltips, I generally think you also pretty well conveyed the purpose and strengths of the towers by their look and the range that they have.
Personally I think the game is tad bit too long (100 rounds), since the average attention span for ludum dare players is about 3 minutes haha. I got to around 50 before I gave up myself.
Of course there are rooms for improvement but I assume due to time constraints they would have been difficult to implement, such as keyboard shortcuts for pausing and slowing down.
All in all, great little game for this competition, and good luck with ratings!
Nice tower defense!
Cool idea of turning allies into enemies! I think, it could become a really good one after adding sounds and more levels
Cool aproach to the theme. I got really pissed off when my own tower started to attack another one. haha
It's a fun game! The towers betraying me is definitely interesting, it made me really think about where to put the turrets so they don't shoot each other. Getting new towers as the game goes on is cool, but I didn't have the money because I filled the field with 40$ towers, which didn't work in hindsight. The game goes on for a bit too long, and the novelty wore off quite quickly though, especially if you filled the area with towers like me. Still, fun game! Played it until round 42.
An interesting tweak on regular tower defence. I like the instability of towers going rogue, but I think it could maybe be expanded on mechanically - some kind of minigame or operation, beyond just mousing over them, to bring them back online? Also agree with other comments, some kind of tooltips would be nice to explain the difference between the towers because apart from different ranges, I couldn't really tell.
I really liked this. I already like TD games and this is a solid implementation of the mechanic with an awesome twist. I could play this a really long time. for version 2 Id like to see more speed up.
