Very fun game, whole new take on Tetris :) love it

elastic 2021-10-04 08:37

Tetris is always fun! Good work!

pbg 2021-10-04 23:22

Spectacular! This is the best game I've played so far. I have no feedback - its so fun!

Actually, one thing - maybe be more explicit in your link to the game that it's playable in the browser. Downloads always discourage people from playing, and its not clear from your link that it is a web game. Maybe put a separate link for the binaries, but just send it to the same page.

AWESOME! Well done!

I love how you represented the theme within your game. The graphics were polished and the gameplay was very smooth. I really liked the added detail of the white streaks you used to show motion. I’m still a bit confused about what causes a player to loose a life, but that didn’t stop me from becoming immursed in the game!

mathiouza 2021-10-04 23:35

1900 on first try. Is that good?

The game was really good! Felt very polished for a jam game! The only thing is that we quickly understand that the lines will make themselves. Like I was not really paying attention at what I was doing at some point and apparently I managed to do lines ahah x)

Anyway the game is really pretty, the music is cool and the concept is really interesting!

Great work!

Nice take on a classic! gets a sorta Jenga like quality after a while, clean and polished, good game!

commentaccord 2021-10-05 01:05

Love the polish, effects, and aesthetic! Great entry.

Good implementation for physics Tetris. Adding this to collection to play later ;D

I like how you just let it drop and see what happen.

delta-key 2021-10-05 20:33

Thanks @pbg, glad you liked it! Also, the suggestion is quite welcome, I didn't really notice that the web version was a bit obscure on the link, thanks for pointing it out 👍

delta-key 2021-10-05 20:36

Hey @alec, thanks for playing! Great to know you found it fun despite the confusion.

Just fyi, you lose lifes by letting any pieces fall out of the center area, that is, pieces falling on the dark part on the screen removes one of your lifes. I thought that this might add a challenge to the player, by making them try to make a stable tower or something like that, without dangling pieces 🙃

Once again, thanks for playing!

delta-key 2021-10-05 20:40

@mathiouza oh noes, you found the secret haha

I mean, the lines more or less make themselves up, that's true. **However**, you might also get pieces going everywhere, and end up losing lifes that way. Well, you might end up losing lifes... balancing some things on this game was quite annoying, and the time was ending, sooooo... yeah, that ended up getting into the game, sadly.

If you have any ideas on how to fix this, feel free to send me a message 😅 also, nice score! Thanks for playing, and I'm happy to know that you enjoyed it!

mathiouza 2021-10-05 21:09

The only thing I could think that may fix a little bit this problem is to prevent the player from making a line with a piece that is already a bit outside of the platform. That won't solve the entire problem, but at least the situation of "a piece is falling but by chance is making a line when it's falling and therefor does not make the player loose a life" won't happen anymore x)

pandi 2021-10-06 11:05

The game is great, but I admit that I felt dizzy when playing it. Without a doubt, very successful with the theme, and perfect music. I'll keep playing!

totteriludum 2021-10-06 19:20

Great game! The graphics are enjoyable, and the gameplay is very smooth. The lines clearing themselves may be a tiiiny bit too forgiving, but it does make for satisfying gameplay. Cool idea to have the player unlock more palettes!

Good job!

delta-key 2021-10-06 20:25

@pandi , thanks for playing! Do you think that making the BG static would help with that? Initially I got a bit dizzy as well, but I think I got used to it. Still, I understand what you mean 🙂 great to know you'll play more too!

pandi 2021-10-07 06:56

@delta-key It is possible, although after playing a few more times I think I got used to it too. Thank you for responding and taking my comment into account! :)

guessimluna 2021-10-07 21:13

Very cool! simple, polished and fun. I could see middle school me playing this on their phone.

dsoberdan 2021-10-08 05:08

Super polished, from the music to the wavy effect on the bottom of the screen to the sound effects to the trails on the pieces, well done! I will agree with others about the line forming being too forgiving; I often found that pieces that were on their way to teetering off would actually cause enough of a line to fill, making them disappear rather than falling and taking lives away, so maybe that could be a specific way to achieve the balance I've seen you mention in some other comments. But seriously, great work!

Oh, and I loved seeing a Godot game  Mine is too!

glaciereclipse 2021-10-15 19:22

SO. MUCH. JUICE. Really well done with the polish in this game it feels so good playing it. The gameplay is very interesting, when creating a little bit of instability it's interesting managing the chaos and trying to get to a stable state, creates a new and fun experience every play session. The music is also so good. Overall just a really solid entry!
