It kind of reminds me a bit of spleefing in good ol' MC. A game of knockback on unstable surfaces.

So much room to grow this. Fragile weapons with knock back of N units? Thrown bombs? Bridges or jumping to aid navigation? This is and always was a great competitive game concept.

Nice graphics, but somehow my first playthrough I managed to survive death and eventually getting stuck.

The look and idea of this game is really nice. But sometimes things happen, and I didn't know why. A bit more tutorial would have probably come a long way. Now, I don't know what's bug and what's feature ^^

The level design has to be a bit better than just an empty room in the later levels but nice game overall

The idea is good, I like the turn based setting. However, I don't understand why enemies could move and shoot in the same turn, while I can't do the same.

Like the turn based tactic. I couldn't figure out how to dodge their attack, so it feels very unfair that they can move and attack immediately but I can't. (as bloodbane pointed out above)

I also think that there can be more ways to play with the unstable mechanic.

Good job on the submission =)

(I'd rather not talk about how long I was right clicking on the bottom right square wondering why I couldn't move ...) Very cool idea. Slowly isolating yourself and the monsters. I could see where this could go places! Interesting puzzles, enemies and treasures could definitely be in future versions. Great job. Thanks for submitting!

Cool game! Once i got the rules it was fun tricking the monsters. However, i couldn't really figure out how to not get hit - the monsters being able to move AND shoot in one turn seemed really tough. Is there a winning strategy? Still, cool job, and nice start to... lets call it an arena-rogue-like!

Nice and promising concept with a cute graphics. I had some issues with full-screen resolution, I'd really want to play this game on full-screen because it's hard to see what's happening game world from a small view. I also encountered with a bug where I was basically invincible ;) With more polish (and especially with a music and sound effects) and more content, it's a promising game with lots of potential. Keep up the good work <3

I like the graphics and the main mechanic of the game!

It was a bit confusing before I realized that this game is turn-based

As already mentioned above it's a bit frustrating that your enemies can move and shoot at the same turn, while you cannot.

I was streaming my playthrough of some games and made a recording of it. I hope it will be helpful for you to see a first-time player's perspective of your game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88rtTOXawsw I'm starting to play your game at 1:20

Love the concept, would be cool if you kept building on it to add more enemies and areas!

domantas 2021-10-08 17:54

Aren't you supposed to create your own graphics from scratch during the jam? Player sprites are from gamedevmarket.

commanderstitch 2021-10-09 15:36

a different kind of movement. Could only move where i could see. The feel of the game was nice. Tho a bit jarring, it works. :-) i was just happy to have a knife. :)

papabirb 2021-10-12 07:51

The resolution leaves quite a bit to be desired; my two options were either play it in a tiny view where everything looks correctly but the font is hard to read and the details or so tiny, OR full screen it to my monitor and see all the nice pixels get stretched by width...

Weird bug after I hit 'R' to get back up: lost all my health but instead of dying again, the next hit gave me half a heart? in the middle heart?

Could use some music and/or SFX. Maybe more rooms? Seems like after the tutorial it's just a single arena? Or I just never got to see more since I died and couldn't get the golem to die.

Also not sure I get the name; I get it's a play on Enter the Gungeon, but don't really get what an Ungeon would be by comparison. Good work on the theme otherwise! I hope you had a good jam too

Although, @domantas is correct: your player and enemy sprites come from [this person's free asset packs.](https://www.gamedevmarket.net/member/elthens-pixel-art-shop/) I don't mind it too much, but since you are not supposed to use pre-existing assets without heavily editing them (per compo rules), I won't be rating the graphics. They're 5-star quality, but you didn't make them, nor does it seem you changed them in any way to make them a "derivative work".

huntthewumpus 2021-10-12 19:58

I liked the concept a lot. With a bit more addition to the level design this could make a cool puzzle RPG where you have to figure out the right moves to kill stuff.

kumber 2021-10-12 22:06

Cool concept! I hope next time you'll have more time to refine it. Great job!
