Excellent entry. I love it!
This is game is EXTREMELLY addictive and fun! :golf:
A great idea very well-executed- absolutely loved this! The overall look and feel made it super satisfying- especially when you get a good golf ball army going. :D
It took me a while to figure out how to grow more balls. I wish it were simpler and there was a single tool with everything integrated into the movement.
wow, amazing game. The graphics were really good, and the gameplay was unique and addictive. My highscore is 9 holes 38 strikes. Well done! wonderful game!
Really cozy submission and a unique idea! At first I did a really bad job planting new balls, but my second try went much better!
Great game mechanics. Needs a tutorial mode to explain things but great fun little game.
Really smart gameplay ideas. The visuals are really cool ! Amazing work for 48h.
A lot of fun, played it with a bunch of friends. Only thing I would say is that it took about 5 minutes before I realized that you could change your ball type(though a great sign that I was having lots of fun even without that feature).
A very innovative idea that had me click-dragging for quite some time. I could see coming back to this and playing it more. It feels like a minesweeper-style game, and that's a really good thing. Excellent stuff.
Brilliant concept superbly executed. It's an inspiration
@danman9914 wow, thanks so much! means a lot from you :)
Amazing! ^^ of what I've played this is my favourite by far. Not even sure I've seen a mechanic like it before, great stuff!
very fun and apparently perfectly scoped. well done.
Nice job! One of the more enjoyable entries I've tested so far.
Were you inspired by any similar games? I rated it highly in innovation since the gameplay was very intriguing and new for me, but I'm curios if this is somehow a genera piece for something I've never heard of before?
@sirlich i wasn't inspired by anything in particular, no :) I generally try to think of unique ideas for my ludum dare games, just as a personal challenge.
Nice idea and great execution!
Very nice and innovative game. Great gameplay mechanic and also looks great.
This is a ridiculously cute and fun puzzle game! So many great details in animation! This feels like a super polished game. I could totally see this being my new obsession for a fun time waster! I honestly have no notes, this is awesome. Well done!
as usual with your entries, the game is really addictive and polished! the idea is really good and well executed. It was a little bit hard for me at the very beginning, because i had now idea of a strategy, but the more you play, the more addictive it gets
Wow! What a great game! I'd love to know your design process. Was the concept crystal clear from the outset, or did you have to pivot to "find the fun"?
Well thought-out concept! The mechanics feel really fresh
fantastic as usual
It was quite easy to get into, considering it's quite an innovative concept. Very intuitively designed game.
I love this idea! This is so easy to pick up and play, and gets really fun as you perfect your strategy on subsequent runs. This is a fantastic example of being inspired by the theme and letting your imagination run wild. Very nicely done!
@plexsoup i think this ludum dare takes the record for longest time i spent deliberating on an idea before going forward with one. in general i try to mentally design the entire experience first and foremost -- or at least come up with a complete game idea with understood goals and mechanics and their purposes, certain ideas can absolutely come up during development (for instance in this case i hadn't come up with the idea for the dirt ball until near the end). but in general if i can't formulate a purposeful game loop then it means either the idea wont result in a good game or at the very least it will be hard to grasp for players.
Wow, this is such a genius concept and the execution is great too. It too me a while to figure out but there is so much depth to the gameplay with relatively simple rules. The atmosphere and sound effects are great too. I ended with 11 holes and 43 strokes.
Awesome work. Brilliant concept and so fun to play. I didn't understand at first and was only doing 10/15 holes, then I looked at your gif and got it. It's incredible you got that in 48hours. I see you only add the mud ball at the end. Great addition to make the game last longer and be more interesting. My only regret would be firefox crashed after i'd say a hundred holes with around 50 balls and the ground so I don't get to know my score :D. I'll try with the exe. My favorite so far and by far ! Can't wait to see your other games.
Amazing game design and also very addictive. Perfect!
This concept is incredible. It's simple to grasp and there's definitely some depth to the skill involved. I want to keep playing it!
Very well executed as well!
This is so cool, innovative, smooth and easy to get into. Big fan of it :sunglasses:
Cool game. I realy like it but it is too hard for me.
This game is amazing ! really love it i want to play more and more
I'm very impressed with this! You've managed to make a hugely fun and repayable game with such simple and intuitive mechanics. Amazing job! I would LOVE to see this expanded on, if you choose to do so.
Really creative concept! I love how much strategy there is in trying to decide when to water, when to plant, and when to go for the hole. It took a couple tries to get a good run going, but it's really fun when you have a lot of balls flying around the screen at once. I will say that the soil drying and falling apart happens a bit too quickly. Feels like the game's pretty much over at that point unless you already have a massive amount of balls. Balance could use a bit of fine tuning in that regard. But I had a lot of fun with this one regardless. Nice work!
Someone really wants to make a golf game :P
Okay this entry surprises me. The biggest twist is that the board start to disappear and the game changes from a precision game to a chess game.

I thought I could last forever, and in theory I could if not for me accidentally throwing 2 of my balls into the abyss.
Great entry !
Really cool combination of golf and farming! A bit hardcore :) Was motivated to reach a state similar to gif but failed. I reached my best score when just tossing one ball around until felt in void. Great game. Congrats!
I really like its "Easy to learn, hard to master" style. Also very nice art and sound. :)
Really fun and clever combination of a farming and golf game. I really liked the animation of the ball going into the ground and growing. It felt so good and polished! I really liked how the game has a "tutorial" and slowly gets harder over time. Also great art and sound. My favorite entry so far
The physics were just perfect! Enjoyable to play :D
really fun to play, nice game :)
This game reminded me of Autoball, then I saw it was from you as well :)
Interesting mix of farming and golf, of all things. The gameplay is easy to get and there is some strategy to it. But I still find the dirt loss to be extremely punishing! Losing the mud balls when they don't hit a gap is quite discouraging but I suppose it makes important.
It's quite satisfying to reach a large number of golf balls where things become *almost* automatic.
Brilliant concept, brilliant execution! Found myself playing it for a while, great work!
Amazing concept and execution! Cool art too. I was not good at it but had a lot of fun
Things I enjoyed: - Very creative way to use the theme. Core game mechanic is fun and addictive - Controls are simple and intuitive. - Art and sound is very cute- enjoyed it. - Gameplay and animation is very smooth and intuitive. The game feels very responsive to my actions - The game is legitimately difficult and interesting.
Suggestions (maybe out the scope of the constraints of LD): - It was not that obvious to me at first why the water or mud balls might be useful until the field started changing. Maybe prompting earlier that something like this will happen will make it clear. - There is quite a lot of text that I have to read outside of the game to workout what to do. I think it is likely possible to add some hints-in game without doing a fullblown tutorial, to make it clear who the game works and what the controls are. - High-score board. Could maybe be some interesting mechanics for multiplayer or coop. - Would be amazing as a mobile game.
@aurel300 thanks! I do think allowing dirt balls to fill adjacent gaps when hitting land would be the first amendment I'd make, and then slowing dirt decay rate would be the next.
Very interesting. Looks easy but a little bit hard to play well.
So when's the post jam app coming out? This is such a great idea.
I loved the concept and the mechanics. Great experience.
I could have played this just for the golf aspect of it. Such a nicely executed idea!
Wow this stuff is addicting! 5/5 compo
Nice concept and very well executed, congratulations! Thanks for the fun time!
Great idea, you just get more to do at each run. I like it to grow in my mind like this :D
I wish there was music, but the sound effects are great. I had a hard time with watering plants - every time one grew was when I landed on it so it was like only having one ball most of the time :sob: overall pretty fun, I played it a couple times around to try and Git Gud, but I was always too worried about scoring the strokes in time.
Edit to add: I wish that the soil got darker (at least briefly) when watering. It helps to give a feel for the 3x3 area.
probably one of the most creative mechanics based on a theme i've seen for a jam submission, very well done!!!
Amazing! Such a solid game, great mechanics. I literally have nothing bad to say!
This was quite a fun game :) The controls are simple and it was quite intuitive.
really unique game idea! was even fun before a figured out how the blue balls work. i found out a little trick though. when trying to make hole in ones it's much easier to drag from the pole halfway towards the ball
Very good simple game mecanic. Addictive. Pushing you to masterise it.
Very interesting idea ! It really fits the theme in a smart way. I also adore the stroke animation, and the ball going inside the ground, feels great and makes sense.
This game is really addictive! The animations really add value to the game,
Wow super clever game, well rounded and polished
the screen edges prevent some power being used but other than that it was very intuitive - can see myself coming back to this one - make it work on mobile?
Well done!
@phillip-scott thanks! it already works on mobile, feel free to try it yourself! and if by "prevent some power being used" you mean you can't drag far enough to get full power, you can drag from anywhere on the screen so it should always be possible.
Wow. This has to be the best entry that I have played so far! Lots of fun and incredibly addictive, you could turn this into a mobile game with that swiping mechanic! Props to you and thank you for sharing, I had fun :)
Funny concept, although too complicated and strange tbh, but the game is solid and very well made! Here are some thoughts:
- Graphics and animations are very well done! Everything is smooth and nice, color scheme is pleasant. - Sounds are nice and gets the job done. - After phase 3 the game become way too complicated, so it's pretty easy to lose interest (and lose the game as well). Difficulty curve is incredibly steep, and it doesn't fit the game well. - I understand why it's now shown where the ball will land, but I'm think that it would be more fun to show the landing area to make it more tactical then pixel-hunting-skill-game. I understand that it's not how it was supposed to be, but it's just a thought. - Having some easy-to-understand end goal would be nice, so there's some motivation to continue.
Generally the game is very well made, good job!
Amazing entry and very well made!
This game is actually very fun. Reminds me of the old Nitrome games. It was very funny when I turned all the balls into dirt balls and lost the game instantly. Great game!
so well done! really intuitive mechanics (although I had some trouble when I was just a space away from the hole), and super unique idea. well done!
Very nice game,,this one is my top 5 good games in this game jam,,although I feel it is a little hard to play, playing golf is simple ,but keeping the earth tile stay is hard
Very cool! Took me a few tries before I could do something similar to what you have in the gif but it was worth it. Moving a lot of golf balls at once was really fun. Great work on this game
Wow this is a really great concept! It's definitely very challenging but addictively so. The art and sound are also really well done and overall feels like a fully polished entry. My only minor nitpick is how hard it is to get a good match rolling. It might have been easier to start with more than one golf ball. Or maybe have that as a difficulty option.
It looks like golf, but it is full of star acutally.
An amazing game, strong what the connection with golf is. But each reverse displacement is curious and slightly random, with corresponding follow-up effects depending on the choice of material. Later on, new materials can be unlocked to deal with new challenges in the future, such as square droughts and disappearing squares.
It's just a shame I didn't achieve the effect of flying around like in the game's introduction, but it's still cool/cool.
Very nice game! Pretty difficult at first but a really amazing concept! Well done!
Really cool and unique mechanic, haven't seen a game golf like it before. Also loved the graphics and the polish, great work.
This is very cool! Feels very original. I thought that I'd got the hang of it and had a bit of a cheese strategy (a cluster of lots of balls, a couple of water, mostly regular) then the ground started disappearing and completely killed that strat. Perhaps the game could have eased us into the vanishing ground slightly more gradually, but that was a good surprise!
I had a couple of small issues, like the ball spawning underneath the UI at the bottom where I didn't see it. Apart from that, excellent and creative entry. An unusual interpretation of the theme, but a well justified one.
This is very innovative and fun as well!
Very Fun, first time i play i did not understand the principle easily, but when I finally understood, the game then reveals its full dimension. Congratulations to the team
I love this take on the theme! Maybe it's just me but I did find it difficult, and even after figuring out I should grow a little army of golf balls right from the beginning, it *felt* like I was doing good but in the end my score was only a little higher than my previous scores. Maybe I'm just not very good at it. Still super fun anyway though, could definitely see myself play much more of it haha
@trasevol-dog thanks :) one day I'll break the curse that causes all my games to be hard
Brilliant entry! Very original idea and extremely well executed. Game is well presented, looks adorable and feels great to play. Amount of polish is on point.
Gameplay is engaging but definitely somewhat frustrating. It takes a few minutes to understand how to play and figure out the strategy. One does have to go and read the out-of-game instructions to know what to do, which takes a bit of extra effort and always breaks the immersion. Game does get very difficult very quickly as well, and I was surprised at the pace the terrain starts breaking, feeling it was very overwhelming. I don't think there was any need to force short playtimes with that much difficulty, especially since the basic gameplay loop of just throwing the ball around already feels super satisfying and I would have been happy to have more free-form fun with plant management.
Overall a very good game that I feel might have been superb with better balance decisions.
Very addictive game, love your content. Very pretty and a very creative twist on the genre.
Sound design and graphics are very nice, making the game very pleasant to play. Congratulations for making it!
At some point, my browser (Firefox) crashed while playing. I don't know why, though.
This game is wonderful. Super fun to play, super unique, very polished. Definitely one of my favorite submissions so far!
Fun and innovative! I think it would benefit having a tutorial. I booted the game up 3 different times after realizing I had missed some important game mechanics.
I think the terrain breaking should happen more slowly and perhaps in specific areas instead of all over the map.
I'd like to see where you take this, it has a lot of potential!
Really clever game idea! Love it.
Very neat game with some lovely dynamics. Only thing I would bring up is that when the ground starts falling, the control over things gets a bit too hard at times. Nonetheless great!
Incredible creative game design and polished af!
This is fantastic!
I think the best one I played so far. Very original, polished game. Fits the theme really well.
Great job!
This is a really creative concept, really liked it!
Really really great game, but I'm *really really* bad at it ()! I'm too impatient to plan out my shots, so I end up flinging all of my golf balls into the abyss and starting over before I even get to more than 10 balls; I'm awful, I can't do it!!! But thankfully I can appreciate the amazing quality of the game, even though I didn't get too far, so that's nice! It's wonderfully polished, especially for a Compo submission, there was never a moment where I ran into something that didn't work/look the way I thought it should've, and the deep simplicity of the mechanics lends itself to a lot of strategy I couldn't get myself into!
My biggest suggestion, though, is to add some sort of shot angle visualizer (dotted line style), so I can have *any* idea where I'm shooting. Other than that, fantastic job; keep it up, man!
This game is extremely fun, simple rules, but gameplay is very well
Out of more than 11 games that I've played this one might be one of the best :)
5/5
Brilliant! Tough but addictive, and balances being simple to understand but having enough depth and complexity to keep you playing. Great stuff!
Great game loop simple yet effective!
Great game, love the take on the theme!
Very innovative idea! Addictive gameplay, good job
YES. Such a good, simple, effective idea. So much fun, I would play a mobile version of this on the way to work for sure :) Any chance of a leaderboard? :D great entry
very innovative! It was really hard once the ground started to disappear, but had alot of fun!
IT'S SUCH A CREATIVE, NICE, ENJOYABLE GAME! :D Woow I am impressed by idea and how great it is! :D
Very cool concept and good, clear visuals. Though, I never really felt like I got the hang of it. Like I understand how it's supposed to work but the progression is too fast for my golfing skill and I can never get more than like 6 balls before everything starts falling apart. I think it could be really satisfying to build up a large golfball "herd" but I'm just too bad at it to make it happen...
I just played your golf+gardening game and I have to say, I love the unique concept. The balance between growing plants and playing golf was really fun and engaging. The graphics and sound design were top-notch. My only suggestion would be to add hotkeys for switching between balls, it would make gameplay even smoother. Great job on this, I really enjoyed it!
Simple, unique and fun! A great compo entry! Well done!
@daveco thanks! you can press 1234 or ZXCV to switch between the four tools at the bottom. you can also hold shift and press 1234 or ZXCV to set all balls to that type. you can also right-click or hold shift and click on the tool to do the same thing.
Cool simple core mechanic game
Of all the ludum dare 52 games, this was the most polished game I've played. I've played it over and over again multiple times. good job!
Wonderful take on the theme! I love golf games and this one is a really unique spin on the genre. Took me a few tries to get going but then it was amazing to just lob around my army of golfballs.
Wonderfully original concept, although it doesn't fit the theme overly well. I played for longer than I expected, and loved how it was one of those quick to learn, hard to master types of games :) great work!
Amazing concept. Hard to understand at first (like what you can do). But you get by fast. Very fun gameplay as well.
probably the best game I've played this ludam dare. love how you can extend outside the original gameplay screen with the dirt tiles, and i think the sound effects are satisfying and fun.
super polished and felt like a complete and balanced game. Visually very nice to look at.
Great job :)
It takes trial n errors to understand this game but after you get that, you can see how unique this game is. I need to try again to water my seeds while planting new ones next time.
This was quite a bold entry, and I think it paid off, once you figure out whats going on its quite addictive, especially on the harder holes.
Nicely polished too!
Wow the gifs don't make justice to this game. The way dirt balls work is brilliant. Good job Torcado!
I like the concept!
Something about losing all the ground quite quickly made me feel like the game was too hard too quickly, and losing the balls down the gap felt a little sad, so I think this game didn't jive as well with me compared to your other games. In some ways, getting a lot of balls made me want to be less precise, which then kind of conflicted with the increasing challenge and cost of being imprecise.
I ended up in the state with a small block of land left, which seems like a pretty valid strategy and had a few good turns there.
I wonder if there was some other way to ramp up the challenge aside from disappearing tiles that was less punishing. Or maybe some positive outcome from a ball falling off that could offset the outcome of losing balls.
If there was a bonus mode where the ground didn't disappear I feel like I would have fun playing with that, even if it was unbalanced :)
But super polished, as usual!
Super polished and fun! Very innovative. Great Work!
Awesome concept and really lovely visuals
What can be said that all the other comments haven't said already. Amazing concept and execution! Loved it.
Wow, this is really nice. It's by far the best entry I played till now. With some chill music, it would be even better. Awesome work! :)
As usual incredible game congratulation ! A simple innovative mecanics that make the game exxtremely fun
Superb and a close to perfect Jam game. SUPER KUDOS
Wow, what an elaborate and unique concept! Some ingame instructions / UI would've helped, but still: Great accomplishment, congrats!
Really fun and good game with cool mechanics
That's so cool ! Fantastic game design, immediate fun gameplay, great visuals, fun sound effects. Just lacks a bit of music. Overall my favorite entry, amazing job.
Really good take on the theme! Congratulations!
Hey, that's actually pretty clever and original! Fun game with great execution, simple game but to the point. The only thing that can be added to improve the experience imho is an in game tutorial and maybe some background music. Overall, very cool game!
I'm amazaed you could do this alone in 48h, it's a very nice idea and perfectly executed
Very cool idea, well done! Takes a bit to understand what's happening, but it's a lot of fun, great job!
Nice and unusual idea, I like it!
Cool and interesting idea. Plays very smoothly. I like it. Find it quite hard especially when the soil starts to disintegrate. Very good entry.
*Why the flower sometimes disappear without producing a ball, it overwatered or it just produces only sometimes?*
EDIT: Ah I think I'm getting into the game :D ... 24 holes, 57 strokes
EDIT2: The soil balls are very hard to use as they do nothing when you don't hit the blank space, I think they could repair the soil around the landing place too, the same as water ball.
To be quite honest, I didn't expect to see any creative entries this jam, but this was quite a pleasant surprise
An interesting concept, but I find it being too far from the theme. It was fun to play and the controls were polished nicely, the only thing I didn't like is that you can't swing too far when the ball is on the verge of level
What a great game! I could play it for hours.
A wonderfully polished and complete game with everything you could want from a compo game! It's soo replayable as there's very little "getting back into it" time and you always have a score to beat. The audio and visual gives great feedback making it very satisfying to play. I love that it has different aspects to it with the golf and farming and the snowballing aspect to collecting so many balls. Such an original take on such specific theme that pushed most people into farming themed games. Such an addictive game! I love it!
Simply perfect
Really excellently polished compo game - very impressive that you managed to put this together in a weekend. It's a simple mechanic but it's clearly very well thought through and is quite unique. One of the best that I've played - nice one!
Interesting take on a golf game. loved the simplicity of it. Easy to understand and play but hard to master. Good job on the game
