Jeffz, Jsjwooowooo, Aaron and Summaky Thank You, for trying my game and providing some great feedback.
Great job, well done!
Nice little game. maybe staring off with things slower would make it more fun, or a simple levels option based on speed with score multiplier.
Intro text first screen:
Mayday! mayday! this is officer first class Fred Crusoe from the starship HMSS Titan.
We have abandoned ship and 6 of our passengers have crash landed on a small panetoid.
I’m trying to keep them alive until help arrives.
mayday! mayday! oh bother best get to work!
Keep the survivors alive as long as you can!
bms Thank You, Yeah I'm just threw together a simple controller for Unity's physics system, I'm learning.
Thank you for the great feedback. Quick note I've got an improved version in the works will Update with a link when I release it.
Nice. Needs a move to command for the defenders.
Liked it nice simple style but atmospheric, could have used more variety in individuals, taller, thinner and more colours.
Hint: head for the yellow nebula, and after leaving the dock turn around and check out what your asteroid base looks like.
Thanks You for the feedback everyone, I am going to work on enhancing this game so any and all feedback welcome.
Will add a link to the Enhanced WIP version as soon as I can.
@jamesa forgot to upload the source, now you can play about with the controls in unity.
Looks interesting and could be fun but, couldn't get my head around the controls, maybe using mouse driven controls with basic icons or a menu would have worked better as you appear to be going for a TD/RTS type game here.
If you added an enemy sound effect the player would know when they are close also it would add tension and make it more fun. Good effort.
Still got 1 day and seven hours to improve it ATM. I'll look at reducing the speed of the roll cheers.
Cheers imagnity and JohnnySix, Just put version 0.1b online, more enemies, tweaked mechanics, improved explosions and sound effects lots of little things but trying to keep true to Minimalist theme and improve the gameplay.
I've got my mouse on max sensitivity so try upping it for the game that should help.
OK New version turn sensitivity reduced 50% still plays OK for me. Also ramped up the difficulty a bit it was way too easy, let me know if it's still too easy?
PS if you're an owner of a Rift check the Oculus Dev forum there might be a treat there for your eyes only!
Cheers OK So post LD update with, Ambient music, Light switch locking, End level find the enemy problem resolved, xbox controller, also going to add strafe up/down keys.
Managed to get a new non LD build up and running, with Xbox controller, music, light switching, beginning of a Rift compatible HUD and Vertical Strafing.

There is a bug in the way Unity handles the Xpads triggers you can only press one at a time so the right shoulder button also fires.
Thanks for the feedback working on the post LD version in the above comment link. Same link as above but now with targeting HUD (just direction indicators). But you need to turn the lights/sensor on in each room for best coverage. Warning turned up the sfx volume a bit. What do you think?
Great game! I think it just needs mouse controls to aim.
Looks and sounds great but why use a side view, sorry didn't get the flight mechanic, possibly due to the camera angle.
Great little game. Keep working on this it's great! You might want to add camera roll when the ship turns, a way to speed up and slow down and a constant fire mode to save on the fingers.
Great little game. You could add maybe more levels with more obstacles and build on it.
The gnomes only have 1 hit point and if you lose one it's game over. You have to save them all.
The block building is a two step process, you build the block then select a direction to drop the block.
Thanks for all the great feedback I am going to start working on a new version with improvements. Cheers. :)
DON'T STOP providing your views and impressions, suggestions and thoughts!
Got a rift DK1 but on Windows :o(
Great work! Would it work better without having to move to the beat?
Wow nice work, the dark clouds could be blocky or have lightning to show the player they are blocking. Doorway needs to have bright light not dark.
Nice Game. Like the concept. But wondering if a thrust/gravity control system would make it more fun.
Liked the way you can use the light cast from the stars to find them. Nice little game, needs a bit more maybe a backdrop, sound effects, and a few obstacles or enemies maybe.
Nice Idea, You need to tell people the controls. E.g. Use mouse to draw a line from the world on the left to the world on the right, that avoids the hazards. It's also very hard.
Nice game but really needs mouse for shoot direction.
Wow 48 hours to make this just amazing work. I want to see the code for this!
Great work. You could probably add the ability to switch FPS control between characters then players could reposition their units.
Nice Retro Game. If you download the Unity 4.6 beta (1gb) it will install the 4.6 web player.
Looks like you have a problem with dropbox, you could migrate your game to itch.io
Now if you add the ability to make a fleet of faster than light (or even slower than light) recon ships that you can launch to new worlds that can build new ships on empty worlds and expand from there then you could have a great little Fermi Paradox simulator.
Liked it great idea. Do the bacteria next to each other join up in the game of life so the meta picture of bacteria is simply a zoomed out view of the game of life?
Nice idea and good work! But needs keyboard input, it would have been so much more fun.
Not bad. Maybe if you had used 'worlds' instead of cubes it would have tied into the theme more.
Great looking and sounding bio-sim. Would be cool if you had boids like shoaling and a basic fox/rabbit/carrot population simulation.
Nice work.
Further improvements and you will have a great little game here.
Maybe if the zombies were hiding in the houses as well. The players could have range attacks and specialist weapons abilities. Or usable items as cards.
Variety of Zombies.
Clearer objective to win.
Have fun making this great!
Like the idea, although I think you should have included the dog image as a sprite in the game.
You need to look into A*Pathfinding for the AI or you can cheat by using physics and just adding bounce and a test to see if the AI has not moved to change direction.
Or there are some simple rules for finding your way out of a maze that might have helped check on wikipedia.
Nice little concept. I think you might need to make the arrows for assigning ants more like buttons. Took me a while to work out what to do.
Arrow keys or WASD for scroll would be nice. Great little tune as well.
Great little game. Found it very hard to aim, the speed of the wool was slower than the amazingly fast speed of the runners.
Mouse cursor not working for me on webgl version here!
Liked the puzzle style graphics and sound/music but lacked control. A way to control your character may be either choose direction, path or just pac-man style controls and you could have an amazing little puzzle combat game.
Like the concept, the game was fun but lock up after i played for about 30 seconds not sure why. The little people stopped moving.
Nice idea. For me the WASD keys didn't work and it took me a few tries to work out which character I was controlling. These two things could be linked.
Looks good, but found the controls hard to use.
Seems fine for me, latest version of firefox, chrome, webplayer and webgl both fine. Anyone else having problems?
OK You need fitters and electricians to set up the panels, vans to deliver the planes and cars for the electricians and managers.
More fitters and electricians speed up the build times.
Managers and admin staff reduce the the build times.
Found the controls really hard to get to grips with, maybe you could try a move to mouse click control system or have wasd map directly to the screen space left/right/up/down.
Great little game good work.
Good effort. Keep working on it, you could add flight, enemies, weapons just have fun!
Got a null reference bug in the browser, you might want to try and find and fix the bug. The game still plays but an error console pops up.
Nice Work.
Classic experiment (might have taken it too far thought), but you missed the impact of having an authority figure in a white coat with a clipboard give you the test.
Also needs an aiming crosshair/dot, interaction highlighting or a bump into to get onto chair thing.
Excellent work.
Amazing work for 3 hrs well done.
Great work. Might work better as a side scrolling, flappy tune game?!
Great work. The Gravity did not seem to be very 'realistic', or I would have liked a larger gravity field effect as it could have made the game easier.
@NinjaNic Thank you, did you find both Miners?!
@Aiursrage2k Thank you, I think.
@krish8L Thank you, good point I didn't want people to get confused with the camera tilt and the attitude of the drone.
Nice work, controls too slidey, e.g. jump too high
Great work for solo 72 hours.
Nice work, keep working on it!
Nice work.
Could the controls be simpler, e.g. wasd into a wall moves the room in that direction.
What if some enemies destroy chunks of your room, so your movement gets more limited. Maybe with deadly but depleting 'spiky' armour on the outside.
Amazing flow in this game, great work. Could you make it look more visually appealing with some color?
Great work. Could the zombies just stop when they get to a destination and cough in that direction, it would make it so much easier for the player.
Great work. Could maybe be simplified e.g. removal of saftey limit so endless charger chains, allowing the removal of the need to clear the screen. Automatic charging of phone and depletion of new batteries.
Also dropped batteries should keep their shape then more complex moves ahead power chains can be created. Even dud batteries could allow for reconnection a power chain.
Great work only thing is why 8 direction shooting, it needs more accurate shooting to mouse pointer position.
Really liked this. Could really do with some health bars and maybe bigger ships. great work.
PS Using the ESC key drops out of fullscreen mode so maybe you could use a different key to return to the main menu.
Great game, the only issue was camera zoomed way out as my dodo squad moved past the second egg arrow on the right and some died offscreen.
Great work. Maybe some kind of build/upgrade circle around the crab to help people know that you can only build within a certain radius or just have the crab move to the build location.
Maybe higher towers could force the birds to go around them to give the game the full TD walls of towers affect.
Great work and concept. Just needs to be a bit harder. Maybe adding an extra column or two of enemies with occasional blocking walls and treasure chests could make it more interesting?
Great work, could have used a bit of colour for the different stats/planets.
Also even a few different shades of colour can work really well to make things look better.
Things tend to look better in retro pixel art style when you keep the same pixel resolution.
Note in Unity if you render to texture then scale the texture and put it in front of it's own camera you can ensure all the pixels have the same ratio.
The buttons did not work for me using chrome, got stuck in the how to play screen then restarted and was unable to begin the game.
Great work. Like the sprites but the game seems to speed up too quickly making it nearly impossible to keep playing for very long.
Any chance you could build to webgl I think it's an option for Unreal?
Great work and great looking game.
I think it lacked agency I didn't feel as though I had any control over where the robots went, is that even an option?
Also as the game is so dependent on power and appears to be on a mineral rich desert world why not add solar and wind farms to provide additional power.
Noticed the robots run out of power and have to return to the harvester to recharge so would the option of building out a power grid allow for closer recharge points and more efficient robot useage as they will be wasting lots of power just returning to the ship.
Didn't come across any enemies but critters that eat mineral plants would really add another layer to the game.
Nice work.
Not sure why but the left right A/D keys didn't move the bear for me (Edge Browser)?
Maybe getting the bear to wade and adding a wider river with fish lanes could add depth.
Great work. A bit frustraiting that you can't climb back up the mushroom for people not great at jumping/platformers. Especially as it's stem looks similar to the plant you can climb bumps. Maybe if the mushroom was more rounded and drooping at the edges people could jump climb back onto them.
Great, got stuck on the area with the super tall trees? Unless I was suppose to throw the fruit to knock down fruit from high trees I was stuck as I scored the last one I had. If so this could be fixed with another fruit or key basket fruit pairs e.g. coloured fruit blue high fruit and blue lock baskets so I couldn't use the red fruit in the basket.
@toomblercazz Not instead but to help prevent the player from using the fruit they have to unlock the next level.
What if the tall trees have blue fruit and the next level lock is two blocks a blue then a red. Now a player moving to this sector with a red fruit can't use it to unlock the next level yet but can use it to knock down the blue fruit and unlock the first blue lock before using the red fruit to then unlock the red lock behind the blue.
It would prevent a no fruit to throw situation.
Nice work, atomospheric sound used well.
Got to the last bag and took it to the table and hit enter but nothing happened there might be a bug there. The monster had no torso but head, arms, legs. There could be a logic bug.
Then there was a lightning flash and the monster was fully formed and in the room and nothing seemed to happen after that?
It could be more fun if there was a night watchman you have to avoid or can attack and harvest but triggers mob storyline ending? Or rats that eat the corpses and you have to scare away/kill.
Great work on a 3D jam game.
Not sure what I was doing but seemed interesting, a kind of beet harvest swarm FPS?
Could have really used a UI/UX score/timer or health bar as there is very little indication or feedback on what is really happening.
Tried the Web version but it's not working.
? Cut the Rye and then got stuck nothing happened. ? Bug.
Great work.
Would the game have been more fun with an over the sholder view and a chase/physics camera? Or the ability to zoom and move the camera as just orbiting does not get the viewing angles needed to see what's going on all the time.
A bit more sfx might help with immersion e.g. fox 'barks' rabbit, feet noise.
Not sure why but the keyboard controls did not work for me in Edge browser?
Maybe mouse input would be good and allow mobile users to play via touch screen.
Great work. Found it odd/jarring that the mushrooms are background art you can just walkthough.
Got stuck early on is there a double jump or climbing ability I missed?
Great work. Think it would be cool if you added a gravity simulation so asteroids can end up orbiting planets as moon-roids. Also you could then have a planet killing asteroids that you have to use small asteroids to knock out of the solar system or break up. Maybe more of an asteroid mining take could be added with different asteroids being made up from metals/water/minerals and having values and a multiplayer mode where players compete to mine asteroids?
Great work, nice sci-fi font choice, good graphics and great audio.
I didn't last long but maybe some obstacles early on that could shield the player from bullets.
Or being a rabbit maybe rabbit holes to help the player outwit the killer carrots?
Great work, a bit of music or a countdown between day night cycles and maybe a larger arena with a few bails of hay for the zombie chickens to hide behind.
Maybe more green in the zombie chickens.
Nice work. The music is great. Maybe a bit more work on the graphics and UI/feedback/sfx.
Bravo great work, especially for a solo effort.
For a jam effort maybe you could have just had a wider rake for pushing/pulling the harvested crops as it would have simplified things (and allowed players to harvest and till more land) for you and allowed you to spend more time on sound fx.
Having the number keys and icon/UI elements could make tool selection easier.
No real threats or enemies to take on maybe like my 3D entry you could add some enemies, and have fun doing that with monsters from the black lagoon wanting lungs, zombies wanting brains and witches/necromancers wanting hearts.
Fun game I suspect the game is random as unless I can combine adjacent cards/plants then there was a point where there was no way to win.
It should be possible to build a completable deck of cards if you run the logic over the card deck.
Also could adjacent matching cards auto cascade or maybe the wildcard does not need a number match and will match to the most cards around it that have a matching number or the card it is dropped onto?
Great work. Just think there should be some economic/money system to tie it together e.g. score/credits from killed bugs/harvested plants.
Or dead bugs could create fertile squares giving the game an odd meta system?
Not sure why the farmer is needed, maybe camera follow on farmer and some kind of transporter/constructor wand/gun that ensure you can only build things with the farmer.
Or the farmer could be just like a builder/harvester in an RTS game, the farmer goes to where you want the job done.
Great work, a pity the guns don't lock onto the sides and rotate to the right angle automatically.
Only saw guns, but turrets, missiles, beams and a bit more variety and this could be really fun.
Maybe engines as well as they could limit speed and manoeuvring if they are damaged.
Bug? Noticed that once blocks are linked they seemed stuck together so couldn't change configuration easily.
Great work.
With more variety in levels, animals and weapons it could make for a great little game although it might need a meta game/story. e.g. Harvest Guardian.
Nice work great 3d elements. Really needs a UI, just some buttons as well as keys and maybe some status bars to show how different parts of the factory/process are running. Add a bit of variety to each element e.g. size/speed/cost of tractor/harvester and you have the beginnings of a burger sim.
Great work.
I just think the movement could have been grid based to help prevent moving half way then when trying to change direction double hitting a square you are on.
Or this could be viewed as a bug where you have to move to another square before it's classed as visiting a square twice.
Great work. Would love it if the star dust was sucked towards comets and the players planetoid.
You might be able to do it with a particle system or a texture and compute shader then again would it be possible with just small sprite quads?
Maybe you could have competing planets, or black holes.
Just get a blue screen (game area not PC)!
Tried the WebGL build, controls worked, no other player? Shots seemed too fast and eratic did not hit the ball.
Tried the WebGL version does not work in Edge browser but works in Firefox.
I won the battle but the game did not progress only giving the option for retreat.
Just add some music/sfx and improve the text feedback on resources and you have a genre breaking classic on your hands! Good luck.
