Wordquake by phi 2021-10-19T03:50:18Z

I really liked this. Clever idea - I'm not amazing at word puzzles but I still enjoyed this a lot. Nice visuals and audio as well. My only slight criticism would be sometimes it felt a little unresponsive.

Tilt by PTSnoop 2021-10-18T06:03:27Z

Nice one, I enjoyed playing this.

I made it about 2 minutes, it's satisfying to jump around as cubes rain down on the platform. I also thought the sounds and music were nice.

One thing I would say is that pushing the cubes felt a little underpowered; for whatever reason, I found it really difficult to try and push the cubes in order to balance out the weight, which seems like an interesting potential strategy (I guess this might be necessary if you are trying to optimise the maximum number of cubes on the platform, but as I said I found it difficult). As it was, the best tactic I found was to continually jump in order to balance out the weight.

I also didn't really take advantage of the other perspectives, but I wasn't bothered by them either, they're pretty neat.

Solar Disturbance by svntax 2021-10-13T06:33:40Z

I like it! Good use of the theme, and I think this idea could be expanded on. The risk/reward aspect is interesting and I think could be leaned into if you work more on this after the jam.

A good deal of polish and appropriate music choices - the effects with the sun and black hole are really nice.

Maybe I was just unlucky but I went looking and I couldn't find any planets :/

Horse Rider by Lawrence 2021-10-17T11:05:53Z

This is definitely one of my favourite games from the jam: Great use of the theme, super nice sounds and visuals which create a mood and complement the mechanics.

I did feel a little dizzy at points, but I had a lot of fun.

There might be a small "exploit" where if you continually steer right, due to the way the obstacles are generated you don't run into any of them - but you can't score this way so not a big deal.

Thanks for making this!

UnstaBall by WilloXs 2021-10-12T12:20:56Z

I really enjoyed this! Fun to control, and a nice set of mechanics. I couldn't quite beat all the levels but those I did I had fun with. I think I had the most fun when I was casually bouncing my way along, but I also appreciate the puzzley elements you bring in as the game progresses.

I like the visuals, and the sounds were pretty good although I turned off the music.

ENTROPY by egawag 2021-10-18T07:00:07Z

Very nice entry! Beautiful visuals and audio (my only nit-pick on the visuals would be the font rasterisation looks a little off to me).

A simple but fun mechanic with nice correspondence to the them as well.

Floor Falls by Toomblercazz 2021-10-09T05:18:55Z

@tjm Thanks! This is useful feedback. I agree about the inner walls - I added the perspective at the last minute and didn't really apply it to anything else.

Floor Falls by Toomblercazz 2021-10-18T09:18:04Z

@veloev thanks for the feedback!

Also thanks to everyone else for playing and leaving feedback, I appreciate it :)

Birds by Jammin 2021-10-17T11:57:20Z

I like the animation of the man and the birds, and the background art is nice.

I would say I agree with other commenters that the gameplay and visuals feel a bit disconnected. I played using arrow keys, and found it really easy to stay near the middle of the bar. I was mainly looking at the bar, which is much less interesting than the image of the birds on the stick. A solution may be to animate the gameplay state, with the man tilting to represent the state.

ch1Pik by NinjaCatz 2021-10-13T07:17:54Z

Nice work! Great visuals and nice music.

The puzzle mechanic is good, and not something I've seen before. For me some of the levels (like bridges, after which I stopped playing) are a little too heavy on the number of required inputs compared to how much you have to think about stuff - especially with the lack of key-repeat. There were definitely some nice moments in the levels I played though.

I think at one point I noticed the undo didn't work back past when I separated the phases.

Dimensional Degradation by Ty Victorson 2021-10-12T07:49:39Z

I like this! I agree it sorely misses sounds, and it's a bit rough around the edges (with the time constraints totally understandable)

Honestly quite an ambitious jam game though - I enjoyed jumping and dashing around the environments, and I was pleasantly surprised by the different maps you made, which have character even despite the lack of textures.

Atom Forge by Kpedatte 2021-10-12T12:57:03Z

I really liked the music, I was tapping my feet the whole time. I also enjoyed the graphics, and the concept is interesting and very on-theme.

Like others I found the game very challenging (I think I successfully made one atom). I wasn't totally sure sometimes what I was doing wrong (sometimes the atom would sit outside the third obstacle, and wouldn't move even when I pulled the plunger - maybe I had the wrong timing?).

Overall I enjoyed playing this, thanks for making it!

Saturday Night Cleaver by bramreth 2021-10-18T06:32:26Z

I had a really good time with this.

Super polished visuals and sound, with nice music. The weapon effects are very cool.

I like how you combined the block, coin collection, and secondary attack into one thing, it makes it satisfying to use. Sure there's not a whole lot of depth beyond that, but for a jam game it's really impressive and fun to play.

I had something happen a couple times I think where it would start fading to black, then because I thought the round was over I would stop doing anything, but then I would die and have to start over.

My First Game Jam Game by thedude3600 2021-10-17T11:37:16Z

I really enjoyed this!

Apart from agreeing about the speed, I thought your puzzle mechanic was super interesting. Very impressive for a first jam game. I think there's definitely room to explore more ideas here.

My favourite moment was when the crab was introduced - incidentally it was also the first time something happened without being described by text first (not that your tutorial is bad (in fact it's reasonably entertaining), but my sensibilities definitely lean more towards puzzle mechanics that the player discovers themselves without being told - I think it's often a more fun moment, and more elegant, although I understand it can be difficult to design)

In the final puzzle, I thought there was perhaps a bit of a missed opportunity - it might have been interesting if you needed to lower the middle gate for the crab to climb up in the second room (something to think about anyway).

Nice work!

Run Under Duress by iajrz 2021-10-05T04:00:32Z

Nice work!

I did get a bit frustrated at points (I felt like a pinball trying its best to will itself upwards), and at one point I realised mashing the button is sometimes the best strategy which I'm not a huge fan of (although I could only finish the last level when I stopped mashing funnily enough). I think I enjoyed the beginning better when it was a bit more lenient.

I really like the music though, and the animations and sprites are nice.

I think the restart on finish bugged out for me; both texts display over each other and it doesn't restart.

Orbitize by Pratik G 2021-10-12T07:14:20Z

Really interesting idea. As others have said it's a little unclear what to do at first but I'm ok with that :).

Good use of the theme, and there's something hypnotic about it. It's also interesting to me how your score goes back down if you swipe.

I feel like the way the physics works is a little unintuitive - especially when you move the planet manually, it feels like it ceases to move like it's in an orbit (maybe this is fine, it just feels a little odd to me).

Thanks for making this, I really like it.

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-09T14:08:11Z

@pie0 Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I can't believe I forgot to mention the reset, that's one of the most important controls. Thanks for reminding me!

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-10T03:03:32Z

@reflextions thanks for the report. There was a mistake which lead to the player going out of bounds at that part, which should be fixed. Not sure what's causing the floating point error though

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-10T14:37:53Z

@arowx Thanks for your feedback - honestly not sure I understand your problem or solution. You’re saying to introduce another kind of fruit instead of having the tall trees?

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-11T00:27:17Z

@arowx Thanks for the idea. I think for me the resource management with the just one fruit type is part of the puzzle, but I can see how it could be done differently like you say so you don’t end up in a lost position.

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-22T10:24:43Z

Thanks everyone for the feedback :)

@zungryware sorry to hear about the crash, it was likely a floating point error (I’ve seen that crash before), maybe from fruit falling out of the world. Thanks for the report

The Circular Reaper by greenphox 2023-01-11T11:37:43Z

Cool take on the theme, I had fun. I like the strategy of multitasking by converting multiple at once. It does get a bit claustrophobic at some point, which doesn't lend itself that much to dodging, although it can be fun to tunnel through enemies to get away. I got up to 4030. (And yeah as others have said nice tutorial)

Organ-ized Crime by ZungryWare 2023-01-22T13:18:15Z

Cool idea, fun take on the theme. Well written dialogue as well.

Hamburger Harvest by Tuomas 2023-01-11T11:19:57Z

Fun bite-sized game. The audio and visuals really sell it. Once I realised the control snaps to the side when you hold down it was easy enough to get perfect every time. Thanks for the game!
