LD52 — Harvest

Tile King by MiltonNH25 2023-01-15T10:47:02Z

I loved this game! Mechanics and strategy elements were easy to learn but had a lot of depth for a jam game. Especially the UI was very nice and clear which I feel is not an easy task in such short time to implement! I went on minus with my gold several times and I couldn't find how that was possible. If that was planned feature and not a bug, you could maybe communicate the logic behind that to the player better. I also found the music irritating so I played the game muted which worked just fine as well. All in all very impressive little stategy game. I find lots of furher development potential for this one.

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-09T17:55:43Z

Really impressive game jam entry. I loved the music and the mood. Controls feel nice and the mechanics were unique and innovative. Puzzles were also well planned although pretty difficult (at least for my brains :D ). I almost got stuck in the second level as well. The graphics were pretty simple and but rough but I think they suited the atmosphere of the game well. Good job! :)

Harvest City by digital bacon 2023-01-09T19:19:06Z

Congrats for submitting even if you didn't finish everything you planned. The game focuses lot more on driving in the city than growing the plants on the farm. Maybe you could have focused more of your development time there insted of the city. :) Like you said, the game feels like you spent most of the development time on drawing art assets on city screen. I think its good to pick a single thing to focus on if you have limited time or resources. And you did well with the pixel art! Especially on the house assets. I think you managed to capture the looks and feeling on lots of materials like sheet metals, bricks and wood planking. Little details like highlight and shadows on the doors hint the shape of the door framing nicely. I recommend to check Pixel Architects YouTube channel if you haven't already. He has really good tips for drawing different materials and surfaces in a pixel art style. Keep on practicing, cheers! :)

Moon 2023 by Ladymarengo 2023-01-09T18:18:10Z

I loved the mood and the music. For a such small game it was quite text heavy in the beginning and it took me a while to figure out what the different interfaces ment and what I needed to do to advance in the game. Maybe a bit longer playtime or extra UI in "driveing mode" could have helped me to figure out what was the initial goal. After going through all the instructions couple of times the game loop itself felt really nice. Pixel art looked great as well.

Farm Fighter by MegaFocus 2023-01-09T18:57:11Z

The game feels and looks amazing. Pixel graphics and the game feel is spot on. I died couple times without knowing why. Do the skulls on the ground cause damage? I didn't find any "close game" button and had to kill it with alt+f4. The harvest theme was present only in the background graphics but I guess that was just an excuse to blow up some goblins ;) Weapons felt really nice and music and sounds make the hole experience very enjoyable. Loved the little details like the shadows from the skulls to indicate bullet blocking. Very impressive game for a solo developer to pull off in 48 hours.

Vegan Zombie Crop Apocalypse : Plant Defense Edition by Divyansh 2023-01-09T18:34:09Z

Very nice visuals. Did you make the assets yourself or where they downloaded from somewhere? If they were external assets you should opt out from graphic ratings. The main menu looked really prefossional. I absolutely loved the idea of vegan zombies threatening wife's meal. The controls felt a bit laggy and I had lots of problems with the grab mechanics. I either grabbed a wrong thing or had troubles when trying to aim for the bucket. Also zombie's hit detection bugged for me and I mostly shot through them without harming. Loved the humour and the initial idea!
