Star ReaperZ is a fast-paced, action-packed 2-D arcade shooter that offers a unique and challenging experience. The game's controls are tight and responsive, making it easy to maneuver the ship through the swarms of enemy ships and avoid incoming fire. The enemies come in two forms, "Agents" and "Defenders", which each require different strategies to defeat.

The game's core mechanics are simple, but the added layer of strategy offered by the energy harvesting system adds an extra level of depth to the gameplay. The player must decide when to focus on destroying enemies and when to focus on harvesting energy, and this adds an additional layer of complexity to the gameplay. The difficulty increases as the player progresses through the levels, with higher spawn rates and the addition of asteroids that block projectiles and destroy the player's ship on impact. To dodge shots and asteroids, players can boost or slow down their ship's speed at all times.

This game is a fantastic card matching game that takes a familiar concept and turns it into a well-developed and engaging system. The art is delightful, the audio enhances the mood, and the variety of mechanics keeps the game interesting. The game's offline version is more stable and the art, lore, and audio combined make for a great presentation overall. However, some players have experienced issues with the moon not changing and the card flips being slow. Additionally, some players found the cult mechanic to be too sudden and complex. Overall, the game has great potential and could be iterated on and released commercially.

Hi everyone, thank you for the amazing feedback. The gore system is made from scratch. The zombie skeletal mesh asset was from the marketplace. The main problem we faced was retargeting the skeleton for the zombie mesh we got from the store. Somehow, it got triangulated and messed up the hitboxes a little bit. Since the game jam had a time crunch, we decided to use the zombie asset instead of using the mannequin with excellent hitboxes. Probably stuff for future update. Every other system including lighting, LOD etc is made in house. We intent to add a tooltip to our grabbing mechanics so that players can see exactly what they are about to grab. We really appreciate the feedback and will try to improve it in the next coming weeks. Please let us know how you feel about having a day and night cycle and a daily survival statistic. We hope to make this into a build/survival emulator in the future.

We listened to the community feedback and have released a feature update taking it into account. Note that this patch is not applied to the game jam game. We have included the following in our latest patch:

-Dead-eye effect on Middle mouse -Added ammo system and ui -Added ammo pickups -Ammo hover effects (bobbing and rotating) and sfx

-Also fixed ammo spawning and bobbing into the ground (now gets zombie death location (x and y), and spawns it at a constant Z so it never goes into the ground even if the zombie dies crawling. -Added intuitive ammo and clip system -Adjusted sfx volumes -Increased reload speed
