I really like that we can customize our ship entirely and give it some weird shapes. Unfortunately it's really hard to control so my big battleship gets always destroyed really quickly. I like the idea of looting the parts of your enemy.
I would have suggested to give more controls to the player in combat, with snappier movements and rotation, to be able to dodge enemy bullets.

Neat idea! But pretty hard, and we can't rotate pieces so it limitate possibilities!
I remember an older game called S.P.A.Z. (Space Pirates and Zombies) that had a similar mechanic of building your own ship, I think. I really love that idea. I struggled a bit with the interface and things locking into each other. I think that some rotations are preserved, even after you disconnect things and stuff was locking together in unexpected ways. Overall it was pretty cool though! :D
@pauljs Actually you can rotate pieces with the R key, I forgot to add it to the description, will add it now!
It's so cool to customize battleships and pirate the enemies! I did have a lottt of collision bugs though, either colliding with an enemy and getting perma-stuck, or trying to attach blocks/cannons and they would not attach no matter where or what direction but instead would send me launching. But besides those minor physics bugs, it's super fun to play! Great job :)
this is awesome, it must've been a pain to program the physics
it's a little glitchy but when it works it's very fun
you should put the controls in the game somewhere
It's always very fun to be able to "build" your own stuff. I think maybe restricting where to place your "guns" would be great as the first couple times I ended up destroying my own stuff (I think).
Also is easy to get lost on the map. Maybe arrows pointing the enemies when off the scren would be a good adition. (I just read the R to rotate stuff. It helps a lot)
Physics are always hard to work with specially in so little time, so great effort on this!
Very cool!
Wow, very cool! Starting the game, I got guns stuck inside my hull and self-destroyed by shooting. The other times went a bit better, with the occasional spawns happening behind you or outgunning you at the very start. The unresponsive movement means there's no way out when that happens :) Were there a bit more action and ease of use for building, I could've been hooked. Looking at this as a compo game, it's a technical feat. Great work!

Didn't see the key to rotate pieces, couldn't figure it out. Had a pretty bad drop my second round, all guns and only one structure piece! Didn't really feel the theme come through on this one but there's an awful lot going on here for a 48-hour game. Nice work!
@rjerez192 There actually is a radar in the top right, perhaps I need to try and find a way to make it more obvious what it is.
Also thanks for the feedback everyone!

Great work, a pity the guns don't lock onto the sides and rotate to the right angle automatically.
Only saw guns, but turrets, missiles, beams and a bit more variety and this could be really fun.
Maybe engines as well as they could limit speed and manoeuvring if they are damaged.
Bug? Noticed that once blocks are linked they seemed stuck together so couldn't change configuration easily.
Wow, this game is hard! I found the build stage a little glitchy - kept getting guns stuck in places I couldn't remove because they were too close to other blocks and snapped back in. Then, when I did eventually get a decent ship, I was terrible at the combat. Not sure it's that on-theme. I had fun though! The random part drawing and building was cool and the battles were enjoyable even though I got wrecked every time.

Very nice concept! The building does have a few quirks (sometimes the autosnapping can be a bit confusing, and you can move your ship by moving an object with the mouse), but it's still a lot of fun to play. The idea of harvesting parts has a ton of potential and could easily be made into its own game (with more parts and maybe different resources to collect). Controlling the ship may take a bit of practice, but it's totally worth it! All in all, great game!

The custom designing of the battleships is such a cool idea, really neat. The first round I played my mystery boxes had nothing but guns, so that was a bit of a confusing first go lol. I did have a bit of a hard time maneuvering my ship and I often got pinned between two ships with no way to escape and all my guns blown off. Still, good stuff! Would love to see a post-compo build.
I like the idea, but the game was too hard for me to really enjoy it. The controls were quite sluggish and made me think that there was a bug that kept my ship from moving at first. However, I think the concept is really cool and would be pretty fun if the ship was a little easier to maneuver. I also liked the radar screen in the corner that helped with finding the enemies.
