Good game! The models made me rofl, the sound was great, and gameplay was tip top shape. No complaints. Good job! :)
Very cool game, how you make it in 48 hours! Absolutely amazing!
It was a spaghetti-fueled nightmare lol, it took me until ~4 hours before the deadline to get all the gameplay somewhat working, then I had to rush to create the art, sounds and music etc, and then you end up with this :D

Just finished playing, unfortunately, I am a noob farmer :(. This is a pretty cool game, using crops to gather resources for constructing towers and then protecting them from incoming threats is something that has potential! My only real complaint is that there isn't much to do after you construct your main defense and plant all your crops, something to keep actively doing or micromanaging tasks would take this experience to the next level.
@scolondev on the max difficulty you won't have time to sit around and do nothing because you'll get overwhelmed quickly :D
I agree with you, originally I had some wild plans on my if-I-have-time list, like towers needing ammo and building a supply chain for that, automated drones that help with stuff, making you hostile to the bugs and giving you weapons, etc. But as usual, I didn't have time for that lol

Struggled to get to grips with the controls, but I love the top down look of the home base, and the music!
Great submission, I like factorio style gameplay.
Cool game, I enjoy the top-down 3d graphics :) I wish I had more of an indication of how much it cost to buy different things, and how much money I had from harvesting my crops.
@maymay the resources you get from harvesting crops are used to buy the towers. I didn't have time to implement showing how much things cost, so here's a full overview:
* 1 biomass -> 10 seeds * 1 biomass -> 5 ferroseeds * 1 biomass + 1 ferrium -> 5 conduciseeds * 5 ferrium -> 1 machinegun tower * 5 ferrium + 5 conducium -> 1 sniper tower * 10 ferrium -> 1 slug tower
Apart from UX issues, I see solid game here. Some good humour too
A solid entry! The only thing I was a bit frustrated with was trying to exit a menu and pressing escape which then took me out of fullscreen mode, but that is just webGL not your fault. The music in particular was great.
Found instructions a bit lacking on how to buy more stuff, but once I figured it out, things went smoothly. The loop of farming and buying and placing turrets was solid, I found myself getting to 20 minutes on pro mode. Favorite building is the machine gun, least favorite is the sniper tower. Found myself wishing the sniper tower had more HP and didn't die the moment I placed it. Would have liked to clip through my buildings more often than not, especially as more were built. But having dozens of turrets turning to lighting up the bugs was cool. Music was a good choice. These kinds of games always have a really addicting gameplay loop and this one is no exception.

@error impressive! I think that means you've seen the uberboss that spawns at around 20 minutes. Congratulations on making it that far! Agreed on the clipping part, just another thing I didn't anticipate when building the game :D
I have to say. The concept is really fun. Gameplay is simple enough (If you ever played a defense game).
I really don't mind the UI since you put a lot of effort on other parts. The messages on the complaint button were so funny.

Great work. Just think there should be some economic/money system to tie it together e.g. score/credits from killed bugs/harvested plants.
Or dead bugs could create fertile squares giving the game an odd meta system?
Not sure why the farmer is needed, maybe camera follow on farmer and some kind of transporter/constructor wand/gun that ensure you can only build things with the farmer.
Or the farmer could be just like a builder/harvester in an RTS game, the farmer goes to where you want the job done.
@arowx some of the ideas I had (but didn't get to) was that the enemies would drop rare resources for new structures, and automated drones that would pick up and deliver stuff to different factories that produced different outputs. But that was a bit too much work.
I agree with the pointlessness of the farmer, but I needed it for the theme and could not pivot to something without the farmer in time. Originally the farmer had a gun as well but I had to remove that due to a change in how projectiles worked. So yeah, in short: I had no time! :D
I like your idea of dead bugs creating fertile squares, that could create some really funky risk/reward tactics
interesting choice of genre. i did struggle with the controls a bit though. also saw the list of building costs you posted, maybe post them in the description too, so you know where to check them before playing :)
I'm amazed and find it way funnier than I should that you literally can harvest iron in this game :lol: I had a bit of a hard time understanding everything, but once I plastered turrets all over the place and see the swarmers get brrz'd I was very satisfied with myself. Super cool entry!
Also I love the top-down 3D idea!
