Very interesting concept, well balanced. Enjoyed it very much and I could see me play this in a full release. I get some "Luck be a Landlord" vibes. I messed up at the end by planting my pineapple on a non plowed earth tile... :( Great entry!

Love the mechanic! I could totally see this game being expanded further! [LudumDare_Screenshot_01.png](///raw/723/d4/z/54938.png)

A turn based growing game is something I haven't seen before, interesting idea. I couldn't figure out why sometimes the watering can would give 2 diagonal watering areas while some would give only one.

vasco-freitas 2023-01-09 02:37

@sean-esopenko The number of areas and the positioning is random. Originally I wanted to show the next areas to the side, which would make that more clear, but didn't have enough time.

Cool game. I'm trying to play all games with the word "Space" in them because that's where I went with the theme as well. I like the puzzle of having different grid patterns for planting, watering, etc.. Other games like this are usually just min-maxing, but this requires much more strategy.

Really cool concept ! Well done !

Relaxing farming game! The tilling hoe is a little bit confusing for me, as it can remove my plants, and plants not on it will not grow at all :(

vasco-freitas 2023-01-09 20:29

@youjing The land only needs to be tilled for the seeds to grow, after they start growing it doesn't matter if the land is tilled or not.

christian-zommerfelds 2023-01-09 21:02

Well done! Reminded me of some block puzzle like Tetris mixed with a farm game, but there was not much "puzzliness" involved, as you don't know the shapes in advance. Overall quite polished. It was a bit hard to understand what ordering of tools is needed. I'd also recommend to explain/make it obvious how much money the plants give you. I didn't know what was best to plant.

And that's a wrap! Won with 5200$ on day 17. Great job, I found myself engaged on a planting puzzle game. That's rare! ;)

I liked it a lot. Kept me interested all the way, wish there was some kind of infinite play. The placement of the seeds are somehow hard though. Sometimes they start left upper corner, sometimes on the right. Would be cool to better plan where seeds will be placed in the current pattern.

It was a bit cryptic at first, but it's interesting once you understand what's going on. Having a time constraint feels a bit at odds with the calming feel of the graphics, music and farming theme, specially because it mostly puts pressure when you're figuring the game out. It could be expanded in a lot of cool ways.

Nice game, I really enjoy the tetris mechanic. Initially I thought it would be similar to my game from screenshot but it isn't :)

It took me a while to figure out how to play the game, especially why I could plant seed without tilling.

Thanks for the game :)

Very interesting mecanics, good music. I have fun to play your game. Good work =)

paloobi 2023-01-11 20:57

I really enjoyed playing this! I was a little unclear on what caused time's up when I was playing? I changed my strategy part way through and tried to just till all the land, then plant, then water, and I lost, but it wasn't clear to me what caused me to run out of time. So maybe you could add something to make that part a bit clearer in-game.

Regardless, the only issue I had with the time running out was that I really enjoyed the mechanic of planting and I wanted to keep planting and watering crops! I particularly like the random element of the selection size/shape changing, it added variety and challenge.

Overall, I found it fun and engaging - great work! Also love the art!

harmadillo 2023-01-11 21:02

Trying to optimize the actions against available shapes was engaging. Minor annoyance was not knowing where the seed would plant if they did not fill the shape. Also hoeing planted seeds/crops, but that was an issue with me not the game.

phillip-scott 2023-01-11 21:12

Could not figure out why seeds can be planted on un tilled ground, and why they would never grow. reading the comments has not helped - made it to the last level though

Art is simple and nice. But feel like the gameplay doesn't explain it's self that well or I am just missing it  good job though

vasco-freitas 2023-01-11 22:09

@paloobi In the top-left corner it says something like "Day 1 / 12", which means you have until day 12 to meet the objective in the top-right corner. I totally agree this could have been clearer. Thanks!

@phillip-scott Seeds planted on untilled ground are wasted, the idea was to make the gameplay more interesting by the player having to decide if it's worth it to lose seeds in some situations. But it seems that's causing confusion  I've updated the game's description to make this more clear.

lone-wolf 2023-01-14 17:32

I was able to pick up on the mechanics pretty quickly, but the mis-clicks or use of the wrong tool never stopped :P

It would be nice if you didn't have to guess/calculate how much you were going to earn at the end of a turn where you harvested something, but other than that this was a fun, well-rounded game!

I submit my highscore, a Day 16 finish for the final level Saturday_14-09_22.png

brusi 2023-01-15 11:10

Nice game! Liked how you needed to strategize the shapes, trying to fill the land with digs and be prepared for any future random shape of watering/planting. It was satisfying when I got the hang of it and was able to survive in space!
