Very interesting concept! It took me a few tries to beat it. My only major feedback is that I feel like the randomized input detracted from the gameplay and ended up making the game mostly luck-based. Something like keeping the output you had from the previous round or something would have helped a lot I think.

tinykidtoo 2022-10-03 05:15

Interesting concept, I found the control scheme to be a bit confusing at first, but once I understood that I need to make a certain output, I quickly came to grips with it. I found it quite innovative.

It might be interesting to assign hot keys for each block, this way input would be much faster.

daandruff 2022-10-03 05:37

For some reason, the timer didn't start at first, so I couldn't do anything, but it started after a while. I like the concept and style very much. 10 seconds is far to little time for me to set the correct pattern most times though :( It would've been nice if you could put the modules in a quicker way maybe? Cool game though :)

sdelay 2022-10-03 05:42

dungeon-io.png Finaly made it! Took me 4-5 tries. Great concept. +1 for the Hotkeys. Also I suggest a user feedback when you match the correct number, for exemple if you reach "50", the output AND the text "50=Fire/Start" should change color a bit.

speakwithplants 2022-10-03 05:47

Interesting idea! It would be a lot easier to control using the keyboard rather than the mouse, but it's a good idea and fairly well-executed otherwise. Nice work!

robowarrior1982 2022-10-03 05:50

The idea is interesting, but honestly i think that made thing too complicaly for nothing, without the timelimit of 10 sec and just a button "play my turn" than can be better. But you made a good work on procedural generation and graphical effect on the dungeon.

coke 2022-10-03 05:55

@rein Thanks for the feedback, yeah, you're right, that almost becomes a lucky-based game, and thanks for the advice. @tinykidtoo Thanks for your feedback, maybe add a hotkey is a good way to make this game more faster to control.

coke 2022-10-03 06:03

@daandruff 50 = FIRE/START, you have to start first, and then do the other thing. And I'm so glad that you like this game, I'm not sure whether 10 seconds is not enough to put these modules or not, If I do more easy way, this game almost have no diffcult I think. Thanks for your playing!

@sdelay Thanks for the playing! A user feedback is a good idea, so thanks for the suggest too, that's will make this game more clarity.

coke 2022-10-03 06:06

@speakwithplants Thanks for the feedback! And glad that you could say that. But if I'd like to improve this game, maybe I'll find another way instead of using hotkey.

khaotom 2022-10-03 06:11

I thought I would never be able to do it, but eventually my brain worked and I was able to solve the equations.

coke 2022-10-03 06:11

@robowarrior1982 Thanks for the feedback! And actually I spend a lot time in dungeon generator and graphic effect :)

mdotedot 2022-10-03 06:16

way too high learning curve.

I like the noise in the graphics.

gcrexx 2022-10-03 06:23

Not my cup of tea but i will admit it is excuted well.I think the theme kind of made the game worse because sometimes i want more time and sometimes i want to execute right away

coke 2022-10-03 06:28

Why I ticked the casual-mode... So sad...

zwodahs 2022-10-03 06:31

Interesting concept for sure. +1 for hotkey.

It is better to think about how to get to certain numbers before you start the game. For example, 2 ways to get to 75, 35 * 2 + 5 or 40 * 2 - 5.

After a few games, you learn a few tricks to get the to number you want, then the game become a roguelike with extra steps :/

Cool idea tho

coke 2022-10-03 06:34

@zwodahs Thanks for the feedback! That is what I want and I designed for the game, at first I was thinking of combining roguelike with puzzle games. Maybe hotkey is a right option.

coke 2022-10-03 14:04

@rein @tinykidtoo @daandruff @sdelay @speakwithplants @robowarrior1982 @khaotom @mdotedot @gcrexx @zwodahs Hey guys, I'm sorry I ticked the casual option that you guys can't rate my game, could you please came back and give me a rate? That's will be very helpful! Thanks!

daandruff 2022-10-03 14:11

@coke Done!

sheol 2022-10-03 15:30

Pretty innovative and interesting gameplay! I also like how the level sort of reveals itself gradually as you move, I think it's a nice touch. Overall great submission!!

zwodahs 2022-10-03 15:37

@coke don't worry when I played the game it was already rate-able

coke 2022-10-03 16:15

@sheol Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear that :)

malcom-thonger 2022-10-03 20:17

Took me a few tries but i got it and its great :) love it

coke 2022-10-04 03:57

@malcom-thonger Glad that you love it

projectcolorball 2022-10-05 13:36

nice idea!such a complex game!(求互投!)

rein 2022-10-05 17:48

@coke all done, thanks for letting me know!

denvil 2022-10-05 20:13

Nice idea but not sure if the theme was best for this. Had to try few times before my math brain kicked in and I managed to make any progress in the game. Visuals were nice for the idea.

Two things would make this better: Allow keyboard hotkeys to keep inside 10 seconds. Other is to change countdown from 0 -> 10 to 10 -> 0. This makes more sense to me when trying to do math at the same time.

coke 2022-10-06 05:31

@denvil Thanks for the feedback! Many people mentioned hotkey, and I think that a good way to improve the gameplay. About change the countdown, I will consider about it.

harmadillo 2022-10-08 14:26

Took me a few rounds to get the hang of it. Mostly remembering how maths worked and realising the timer was counting up. From there it was lots of fun.

coke 2022-10-09 03:29

@harmadillo Thanks for the feedback!

hawkin 2022-10-16 16:18

Very nice idea! I would have liked to be better at it. I don't think the 10 second timer was the right choice for this kind of game, at least in the beginning. I needed more practice to be that quick at math XD Especially when the input constantly changing. Maybe if the enemy got to move every 10 seconds, but my input changed the same until I "submitted" it, I would feel similarly motivated, but more in control.

But controlling the player with mathematical operations is a really novel idea! I like it!

la-bread 2022-10-16 21:19

its def unique, maybe having the controls be based on keyboard inputs would be better? I kept finding myself soo close to the right input but barely running out of time!

gabriel-chan 2022-10-17 03:43

Cool idea! Took a little bit to figure out I had to get it to start first, but it became a lot better once I got the hang of it. Really like the idea, not something I've seen before. Good work!
