I really liked that it get slower near the target. It's simple and fun. Good job!

glaas 2021-04-27 00:04

Really loved building up my combo ! Good work !

tucan 2021-04-27 00:50

Nice! haha! lots of clicking! I liked the music and the slow down for you to shoot the targets!

zeusonator 2021-04-27 12:14

It's a really simple concept, but it's still a lot of fun. And the music that comes after about 50 seconds is really nice.

ditam 2021-04-27 13:45

A cool game, and it's actually quite hard, I couldn't get much past 300 points.

The automatic bullet time effect is a great touch.

ahmed-hamdi 2021-04-28 01:14

What a great masterpiece presented to Ludum Dare 48. Keep it up

seebass22 2021-04-28 09:00

@filipe-leal Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!

@glaas Thanks for the kind words and thank you so much for encouraging me to take part in this event!

@tucan @zeusonator Thanks! I'm really happy that the music I made for the game is so well received. I had a lot of fun making it. It was good to finally use my mini bass harmonica for something.

@ditam Thanks! Yeah, the game can be a bit punishing and maybe even feel a bit unfair at times. If you aim to get combos (but not missing any shots), you'll likely get a score in the thousands. a target hit at max combo (16) should get you 85 points

@ahmed-hamdi thanks!

sirfist19 2021-04-28 09:50

Awesome game! Even though I kept dying, I kept playing! The music is fantastic and I love the dodging mechanic for the enemies.

verlanman 2021-04-28 10:18

Very nice idea. Good joob!

shone 2021-04-28 12:25

Loved the music and the slow motion effect, nice work!

emrod 2021-04-28 12:27

Slow down to shoot was a very good decision, good job

doctortm 2021-04-28 13:01

Great jam! The slowdown is a nice touch :)

joelchrono12 2021-04-28 13:15

Its always good to see more Godot games. And I really liked this mechanics, graphics were a bit weak but hey, nothing wrong with that in such a limited time. Nice work!

zwodahs 2021-04-28 13:52

Nice entry. great arcade style game. I like the slowdown effect, really nice

justcamh 2021-04-28 16:25

Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream! I hope my feedback is helpful, I really enjoyed the game! Here's the twitch vod if you wanna rewatch:

@sirfist19 @shone Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy you liked the music!

@verlanman thanks!

@emrod @doctortm @zwodahs thanks, glad you liked the slow motion! I wanted to it feel satisfying :)

@joelchrono12 Yeah, always makes me happy to see more people using godot! big fan of the engine. started using it recently and I much prefer it to unity (for 2D, at least). Thanks!

@justcamh thanks mate, appreciate you trying out my game. wished you'd played a bit longer to hear get to hear the full song as I think it gets a lot better. thanks for the feedback!

@eugenik thanks! glad you liked the look. I wasn't so sure how my game should look in the start. I'm happy I landed on a simple aesthetic in the end.

ahmed-hamdi 2021-04-29 03:58

@seebass22, your welcome.

charliegray 2021-04-29 15:56

The slowdown is a cool mechanic and the combo is a great incentive to shoot fast but accurate. Visuals and sound are nice as well.

Only the spike blocks felt a bit frustrating. Maybe it would have been better to have more of those, but also apply the slow motion there.

All in all still a fun little game.

ahmed-hamdi 2021-04-30 02:00

By the way @seebass22, may I add some improvements to your project? This is a kind request.

rick2112 2021-04-30 17:30

You made good audio. Maybe add some enemys to the game.

steffy 2021-05-05 14:23

A fast paced fun game.

jonrei 2021-05-05 16:12

Im a sucker for this kind of audio :D

seebass22 2021-05-05 17:57

@charliegray Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Totally agree that that spike blocks are frustrating. The first thing I'd change on a post-LD version is to make those spikes less punishing. A lot of deaths do feel unavoidable and I'd want to change that.

@ahmed-hamdi Feel free to use any of my code for whatever you want (it's under the MIT license), but please don't use any of my assets (audio and art). I haven't yet decided what license to put them under. I'm not taking contributions on github or anything, if that's what you're asking.

@steffy thanks, glad you like it!

@rick2112 @jonrei really happy you like the audio! thanks!

ahmed-hamdi 2021-05-09 09:08

Thanks @seebass22, no problem. I am not contributing to the repository. Do not worry, as you said, I will not use your art assets, but it's ok☺. I just want to see what improvements I could make to it, and post it on itch, if I am allowed to, as I was so inspired about your game and the way you presented it in Ludum Dare 48 👍. By the way, does this mean the project can be posted on itch without the art assets?

itsboats 2021-05-11 02:41

Really fun game, it was a cool idea using slow motion for attacking the targets and I especially like the combo system you have for rewarding precise gameplay and scoring more points. (The increasing pitch sound for hitting consecutive targets make it increasingly satisfying :P)

Here are the suggestions I gave on stream (that I remember): -Different color/shade for the parts where you are slow motion (I die a couple times while Im holding left or right and then I go back to normal speed and hit the wall xD) -Boxes were a cool idea, but I think they should also reward points based on your combo multiplier (also the points you get from distance maybe) -slow down the music during the slow motion too might be cool, I think I would have to see it in effect to decide haha -The moving spiky guys felt a little unfair sometimes. Giving them a few different presets could help with this, or if you could slow/speed up your guy with w and s

Good job with this, it's simple but addicting! deeper-4.png

seebass22 2021-05-18 21:59

Hey, thanks a ton for your feedback and for trying out the game on stream! I'll definitely keep all those points in mind if I do end up updating it. Really enjoyed watching you play it. And congrats on having the current world record (that I know of)! :) @itsboats
