All right well shoot, you win. I haven't played the game yet but I know I will and I'm pretty sure I'll love it because that UI is just so crisp and clean and inviting.

Adorable sprites, super cute and very clear what the smaller art variations between different cards mean once you've read them once. I can see this getting very addicting as you watch your money go up and down with each passing day. had quite a bit of fun!

It may be too random in playthrough but it's enjoyable

Interesting concept, that's actually my first time playing a drafting game, so you made me discover a new genre, thanks ! Cute graphics too

zahkros 2023-01-10 10:58

Visually pleasing, but it was a bit confusing for me, maybe you could make a tutorial phase, if you want to continue this project (which you really should, it has a great vibe!) I know if I read the instructions it is understandable, but it would have been good to learn while playing. Overall great game, that's my only comment really <3

@rhum Glad that you found a new genre :)

@zahkros Yeah, I wanted to do a tutorial but it was late when I finished the game. Planning to make a full game from this so tutorial will definitely be there :).

Thanks all for playing !!

Very crispy UI and graphics, i love it!

Took me a minute to catch on to how it worked but it was quite fun once I figured it out!

Elegant game design. The dynamics and mechanics mostly explained themselves well. I think the different behaviours and traits of plants was designed really nicely resulting in a fair amount of different strategies being tenable. Figuring out these different strategies is fun. If anything I feel like providing some kind of visualisation of the day as it passes could help players understand how time works during a turn, this still feels a little fuzzy to me.

Cute game. I think this *really* needs a tutorial or a guided explanation. I probably got the gist of it but didn't ever feel really in control or like I was making much of a difference to the bottom line, before being presented with another choice of another set of crops that I haven't seen before.

reivilibre 2023-01-12 20:36

I found it confusing that the game 'plays itself' other than the card discard, but interesting and nicely presented. Agreed that a better explanation would probably have been helpful. Thanks for the game!

zwodahs 2023-01-13 04:09

Yeah I think the game requires a lot of explanation. I kind of just assumed that people do have some ideas on how "Drafting" game works.

rosypenguin 2023-01-13 06:06

Very unique game idea, there was a lot of randomness and probability involved, but just enough skill needed to balance crop value, rent, etc. Really good work for a compo!

rickylee 2023-01-14 14:42

Very addictive! ^^ I played for a while to get an idea for the cards, I feel like some are natural upgrades like apple -> orange and grass -> clover. I had a few good decks but my last one was the best.

I just wanted to see if something like this would work and it turned out to be the most op deck I'd played, and the money just keeps going up so I stopped at 1k as a win haha

image_2023-01-14_144043193.png

The clover especially next to apple can make the it worth more than 4x its base value for each harvest. Great game had a lot of fun playing! ^^

harmadillo 2023-01-14 22:09

I had a nice grape farm after 100 days. The cards have nice variety and they are all very readable. While you can try new combinations it is slow to reconfigure your hand.

cannibalgirl 2023-01-15 00:12

wowowo respect for compo

very nice simple, yet giving a lot of interactions, elegant system, i feel like i choose cards more intuitively but with more play you start to grasp how everything works together. would def benefit from some more explanation what exactly is happening during the steps with the option to speed it up for advanced players later

beautiful pixelart!!! thank you for making this :metal:

zwodahs 2023-01-15 09:43

@rickylee @harmadillo @cannibalgirl thanks for playing !! I am planning to expand this to a small game, probably by Apr or May. :) if you like to see more from this genre, do follow me on itch. The new expanded prototype will likely be on itch around end of month.
