Graphics are nice. The gameplay is fun. First time had problem with too many enemies but after farming it was easy to deal with them.
Maybe you could add a new type of enemy with a different movement pattern?
Very nice!

Very nice!
Very fun mechanic! It was a bit hard to kill the enemies even while not missing a single shot. I would love to see some upgrades. The bullets also make a fun beat.
I had fun! 🙂 Maybe it's me but I would prefer to use right click to plant & harvest. Also, I think the enemy movement could be improved, they often end up really packed.
This was fun! I like the mix of farming game and action. There was a lot going on, i think it might be better if instead of having to press E to take an action if it just automatically plant, harvest or pick up if you run over something, since I can't see many cases where you wouldn't want to take the action (and even if there were, that would add more strategy to the movement). Overall nice game and felt pretty complete for a compo entry.
Really cool! This game was fun, and I got into the groove playing it!
My first play I got 1900 points. My second play I got 6450 points. Using the watermelon to kill a bunch of enemies at once felt super satisfying!
- One thing that I didn't like was that you needed to press "E" to pick up the seeds. I think picking up seeds should be automatic, since you are usually doing it at the same time as you are dodging the enemies. - On the other hand, I loved that you did not *expire* pick ups, so I could take my time dodging the enemies before going for the seeds. That was really appreciated! - It is really nice that the enemies slow down when getting close to you. It allows the player to try and "herd" the aliens to make dodging easier and also saving ammo. - I liked the choice of random ammo... it gives a bit of that "gatcha" feeling of "come on watermelon, come on!" - In the middle of the second game, I noticed that you could walk under the score card (and the enemies could too). It might have been cool to make the score card move out of the way when you are there (or maybe turn transparent), specially if an enemy leaves a seed pick up there. - Music please!
But really, I loved this game. Great job!
This is rad, I could barely crack 2000 points but I enjoyed it, I was probably trying to hard to let the aliens form groups so I could take them out with a melon bomb. I really like that the game doesn't make you rush to pick crops by having aliens eat them or letting seeds despawn
As all Unity HTML games, this one lags to on my PC. I would love to have a Windows binary. Played a little though, and this game seems a good one. I would like to get mouse right click binded to plant, as it is uncomfortable to press E while running around.
I'm way too scatterbrained to multitask like this. But that's me. The game itself is really tight, fun, and a very neat concept.
TFW I realized that I didn't have to press the fire button repeatedly and could hold it down instead! ;) The game is very well-designed and enjoyable. The tutorial isn't even necessary because the gameplay is self-explanatory. Very fun and satisfying, yet challenging game!
Nice entry. This got nice mix of smooth and easy to understand controls while having engaging action. Once there is a lot of enemies, it gets pretty tense. Thank god the pickups don't disappear, that would be nervewracking even more. Great job you did here, had a lot of fun. :)
What a great game! My favourite thing is the main character, he's adorable! Great job!
This is so fresh and fun! I really like the graphics. Could use a soundtrack but its okay - you did a compo. Very nice entry, really enjoying it!
Very fun! I was just running in circles for most of it.
I made it to 2025 points :D I really liked the gameplay loop of this game. Having to juggle two compeltely separate mechanics (shooting and planting) was interesting on its own, but on top of it they were heavily connected. Neglecting to do one meant that you would not have a good time doing the other. I really enjoyed how they interplayed, meaning that you have to keep two things in mind at all times. Some music would have been nice, but the sound effects were simple yet very effective. Really great job :D
As a bit of feedback, I really liked playing, but it became a bit repetitive after a while. As others have mentioned, a bit more content (like varying enemies or more plants) would make this game even better. Although that is more for if you want to extend the game. As a compo entry I think you already did a great job with what you have :) Another thing is that at some point I did not have any plant ammo left, and I was just shooting the monsters with zucchinis. This meant I had to slowly chew through the monsters with very low damage output to get a seed again. This felt a bit frustrating.
That said, I have to say again that I really enjoyed the game and its interesting gameplay! Really great submission and thanks a lot for making it :D
I found your game through your comment you left on our game, thanks for the feedback! I tried your game out and I like what you did. I was playing it long enough that I even had to pause it to go do some chores before coming back to it, it's fun! I wish there were more monsters which dropped different things and would like to see you do more with this after the jam, if you're still into it.
Doing this for a compo is impressive!
Nice game! The shooting/farming mechanics was a good ideia :)
Great entry, especially considering compo! I managed to get 2200 points despite not fully knowing what was going on. I looooved the watermelon shot, it was very rewarding :)
1475pts, and 1900pts on my second try. * Leaving the mouse to use E to plant or harvest crops is not convenient. * Pickups seed should be automatic, not pressing E. * I love the watermelon attack (is this a watermelon? I looks like so). It is quiet efficient. Is it random ? or every 15 shoots or something ? * All art is perfect, really : colorfull, animation. * Yeah, aliens do attacks farmers, and farmers do defends themselves with vegetables !
I really loved your game. Congrats on a such a polished job.
Interesting mix of twin stick shooter and farming game. I had a very hard time with the controls. But that might just be me. I am used to play with game pad. Nice animations, nice 8 bit graphics. Sound is very basic. Doing all of what you did in a compo is fantastic! Congratulations!
great idea,I got 3000+
1850... i'm not very good. The gameplay is simple but it feels nice, the hitboxes are cool, we can easily dodge enemies (said the man that scored 1850 x) )
That was fun. The graphics is simple but works just well with the concept. It is definitely not easy game, but its difficult enough, so it's still fun to play. The main theme of harvesting was interestingly incorporated into fighting aliens. It is a bit shame, that there were only sounds and not music. Maybe it would also work better if collecting seeds doesn't need pushing E key and I don't also get, why you sometimes shoot melon bombs.
But overall great game, good job!
I've long said farming sims need more aliens and this game delivers.
Fun small game with a very simple balance, but lack of goal is a big problem. Score does not give enough motivation unfortunately.
That was great! I love that you combined the idea of planting and using the carrots as ammunication. The core loop of killing enemies -> get seeds -> plant seeds -> harvest -> to shoot more enemies worked really well!
Neat game! Not too tough and has a good balance. I think that it'd benefit a lot from having some kind of goal to work towards (maybe you could alter the game a little and have a big crop you're trying to grow for a fair or something?). It'd also be nice to add background music of some kind so I have something to jam out to while playing. Otherwise, great work!
This is charming! Great pixel art and I like the basic mechanic, though the balance seems off—I only ever saw one seed packet drop, so almost all of the time I was just shooting zucchini. I did love the game’s note about zucchini doing very little damage, though: that’s true!
Simple game but works well and fit the theme! Congrats!
Fun game loop and nice graphics. I feel like the seed pick-ups should be automatic. Great job.
Great concept and this plays really well, my high score was 2525 . Balancing the combat with managing your resources is fun, and if you built on this with more plants and enemies it would only get even better.
It would be really cool if you added some interactions between plants and enemies, you could have a plant that acts as a land-mine for instance, or maybe an enemy that digs up your plants if you don't stop it - there's so many cool ways you could build on this post-jam if you want to!
Appealing visuals and nice audio. Also gameplay is fun, with game feel and feedbacks. A very solid entry for an 48 hours jam, great job! If you would like to shred some zombies in slowmo, be sure to check out my entry, I would love to hear your feedbacks!
I love how juicy the crop-is-finished-growing animation is, it makes it really easy to keep track of where to go. I also think the grow-your-own-ammo system is a great way to make movement decision more weighty than simply avoiding enemies. I Think it would be cool to allow for growing different types of plants with their own pros and cons, perhaps making them take different seed packets, number of plots, growth times, etc. for more on-the-fly strategizing!
