The main way of delaying the inevitable kind of boiled down to "barely play the game" which feels like it kind of defeats the purpose ╮( ̄~ ̄)╭

It's a solid twin stick shooter otherwise, and I loved the singing. ADVENTURE!

I love the aura bar and the music. OMG the music! So good!

frizuo 2022-04-04 05:42

DUDE THE MUSIC IS AMAZING, I was doing great unitl I cornered myself;-;. Great entry!!!

nicmagnier 2022-04-04 08:23

I agree with the comments above. The music is very fun and gives a lot of personality to the game.

My Highscore is 733 so far. I like the idea is controlling the mob to get the point since there is some risk reward associated with it. I feel player collision is a bit too big though and you can collide with enemies a bit too unexpectedly.

Nice job overall :)

Seriously, I opened the game and was like "nice this guy downloaded some cool music...wait a minute! It's a COMPO!"

Gameplay is rather fun for such a simple mechanics. I like the aura thing, it makes you engage more in combat. Overall experience is pretty cool! Music can do so much. Especially a homemade song like this one.

PS: You have a wonderful voice :)

nick-barrash 2022-04-04 12:29

Soundtrack on Spotify when? Nice entry!

forgin-bits 2022-04-04 12:53

Haha great soundtrack

damnscout 2022-04-05 02:47

Music was interesting, yay, but the gameplay felt fairly lacking. It was missing something. Maybe crunch, or something that made it feel like you were doing actual damage, or any sort of scaling. Also didn't really figure out what the bar at the top was intended for. Great music though!

victris-games 2022-04-05 05:21

The Music and voice acting really made me happy. Congrats! I was surprised when I won.... I thought it would be inevitable. :)

koningmathijs 2022-04-05 08:31

Nice job! Like the sound and look of the game, music is amazing!

itzemii 2022-04-05 20:15

Fantastic music, very fitting. And when dead the smooth switch to the other one is cool. The controls felt stiff, or it was the missing feedback and the feeling that I was not able to hold them back that hold me back from playing more often. Overall a solid game!

bucketh3ad 2022-04-05 20:23

@damnscout The "Adventure Bar" as I call it charges up whenever an enemy is in your combat aura. I intended that mechanic to invert the typical twin stick gameplay of "always be shooting, kill everything as fast as you can" and the optimal avoider game strategy "stay as far away from everything as you can" so that you want to stay close to the enemies, still without getting hit, and kill them as slowly as you can. I also added a special attack to the adventure bar when it is fully charged, making it a delicate dance to maximize your score before defeating the enemies.

I had some grander plans for things like level design, camera movement and effects, and multiple dungeon floors that scale in difficulty, so hopefully I can explore some of that now that I have more time and a solid base to iterate on. Thanks for your feedback!

I was thinking "how the hell this wizard game can be tantric?" then i played it... let's say it was so on the nose that my keyboard needs some cleaning...

The music combines well with a "twin sticks" gameplay...

elede 2022-04-06 16:55

As many comments above stated, the music is awesome. Good job!

jesus-gonzalez 2022-04-07 11:41

I don't know if the music is actually or intentionally dynamic but it surely gives the impression of it.

I can't explain why but I found this quick little game really addictive. I know the music was a big part of it but I don't think it was just that.

Pretty unique interpretation of the theme in my opinion.

ftl-sloth 2022-04-08 00:12

Great Music! the game was simple but functional. Not really feeling the theme to much, the idea of keeping the enemy in the field around you was a unique one.

candlesan 2022-04-08 06:39

I like the music, that's really fun. Is that you singing? You have a great voice. The visuals of the aura as well as the fire explosion are both really cool.

pio 2022-04-08 15:38

Great music and it was really fun to play! I only wish there was a health bar, because the number was hard for me to read during fights and I wasn't sure how much health I had left.

Thank you all so much for your feedback. It makes me really happy to know how much you enjoyed the music and the game. In honor of the one week anniversary of the start of LD50, I've remastered the soundtrack and uploaded it to the game's itch page as a separate download! Thanks again for your kind words and good luck on all of your adventures!

_Phew, what an adventure!_

As everyone has already said, the music with the vocals is really wonderful and gives this game a lot of character.

I would love for this game to have a little more variety in terms of gameplay, but you did a nice job anyway! My high score was 1013.

buah... Adventureeeee ♫♫♫♫♬♬♩♩♩

Jaja loved the song and the sound effects :)

Good job!

tanis 2022-04-10 20:19

Awesome soundtrack! :) I can't say that I really enjoy the game mechanics, but I am replaying it just for the music score! ADVENTURE! ;)

ardorugus 2022-04-11 08:04

Real fun! Yet, I had it quite hard to play to the music with voice (vocals). It's distracting from the gameplay. But the effort is nice. Good job, man!

gord10ahmet 2022-04-16 22:16

Nice game. My suggestion about the visual side is adding a simple background, even if it's just checks.

toc 2022-04-17 07:26

Cool idea for a twin stick shooter! Some more feedback on hitting the enemies would be nice, but I understand that some things have to be dropped for a compo
