Liked the environment.
I kind of expected to get some Stanley's Parable ish feedbacks, thus I tried rush across the woods into the fog, take down as many trees as I can, or sit waiting the fire going out. But nothing happened, which fits the best with the lonely environment.
i like the fog and lightning, but my favourite part is defenetely the falling tree sound!
I like the atmosphere
Well done for a game developed in... half a Sunday? :deciduous_tree:
I survived 213 seconds!
The atmosphere for the game was good, especially with the fire slowly running out: maybe next time consider **using a floating point value for the fire**, so that it runs out smoothly!
Since chopping an unit of wood takes 1 second, and the fire consumes 1 unit per second, you're **doomed to run out of wood after some time**: is that intended?
The **falling tree sound made me laugh** quite a bit!
This reminds me of a game I made for a previous Ludum Dare: [**The Cold Night**](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-cold-night)!
@xlores-liang OMG i totally should have put some voice overs and hidden easter eggs. ill have to remember this for next time :D @kiv yeah that tree sound was me knocking on my mouse pad a bit, then crumpling my herseys bag, that a boom sound with my mouth haha. and the axe sound was me knocking on my desk. @steffo yeah admittingly i overlooked the floating point thing, and i will remember to make sure i dont have the chop and fire at same time if i decide to architect a game around this mechanic
thanks for the feed back and plays, i played and rated your guys games and they are pretty fun, nice job!
I really like the atmosphere of the game! The idea of it getting darker while your fire is slowly dying with no other source of light, good job.
Although I expected some kind of way to get the fire back to full potential if you are collecting wood, since you are going to run out of wood anyway as the trees are getting further away.
@thuglife yeah that was an oversight on my part. definitely going to prioritze balancing the mechanic next time. thanks for playing
Fantastic mood/ atmosphere of the game! Overall very consistent feel of the "whole". I did not survive long. Now I fear of going into the woods. Nice game!
Environment was very moody, but the sound effects made me chuckle. Nice entry!
The atmosphere feels very nice :)
I liked the feeling of not finding the bonfire and suddenly becoming lost when the timer run out. well done for the little time you had.
Pretty cool for a game made in like, 12 hours? Like seriously that's a bigger achievement than anything XD. Extremely good job on this game.
Good job for the limited time. I reached 224 in the my first try, then wondered how far someone could get in it. I think I might have the highest score . I reckon the max you could probably get is 1000.

I noticed that some trees don't fall down if you harvest them at maximum range, so you can keep going for a long time.
I would stick with the brightness being an integer actually, I liked seeing it tick down in darkness, sort of gave it a flickering effect that a fire has.
Nice game
Hmm, you could probably take an enviromental message from this. Good job on this entry!
Interesting entry. I played around in the world for a while... I walked away as far as I could, beyond the trees... It got darker. I thought about the world I had left, and the world I had entered. I had removed the scourge of myself and my axe from the forest, but there was nothing I could do to prevent a slow, cold death. The game was certainly thought provoking. I look forward to seeing what you make in the future, very poingant.
Love the sound effects and the visuals. It's fun to stand below a tree as it falls down around you. Clean and simple!
