Even though it's incomplete, I love the art/audio style of this, it stands out from other games.

nethead 2021-10-04 14:29

This is really cool, I loved the art and the gameplay you finished was fun

diego-escalante 2021-10-05 02:33

I like the concept, and the visuals and sounds really set it apart. I'm sorry you ran out of time, but it's a good start! I'd like to see the rooms that appear to connect to previous rooms a little better. Sometimes those rooms were just not reachable with the way they spawned. I also love the wild use of colors. Real cool, nice work!

grumpy-gecko 2021-10-05 02:37

Loved the sound effects and the art style (colors/ backdrop).

cottontshirtz 2021-10-05 03:25

I quite like the idea! It's fun to run around and put out fires (metaphorically)! I do wish the generated pieces would fit together better, often a piece would spawn in and it wasn't possible to get into it...

david-bohan 2021-10-05 18:12

This is really neat. I bet the aspect of generating the levels was pretty difficult but you executed it well. Great sound and a really clean and effective art design. Nice work!

Actually this is a similar concept to what our team came up with! Great minds, right?

aderpychickenstudios 2021-10-05 18:24

Very interesting idea I liked it I think that it might have been too difficult but that might just be me I don't typically play games like this. I really liked the art style and the overall aesthetic of the game great job!

@ekun @nethead @grumpy-gecko @aderpychickenstudios thanks for the comments!!

@cottontshirtz @diego-escalante yeah the rooms fitting together better would've been nice, although part of the challenge is intended to be from rooms that dont quite fit together and create a difficult platforming puzzle. unfortunately they are just impossible sometimes, which i agree definitely isnt fair. anyways, thanks for playing!

@david-bohan i think both just made among us lmao

tombuston 2021-10-05 19:43

The idea is interesting and I think the execution is quite good even though it's incomplete. The 1bit art is great and controls are tight. If there was something to prevent the player from staying in the same room without moving, the gameplay would be really interesting! Good work and thank you for your game!

ddrkirbyisq 2021-10-06 23:38

Interesting idea, though there didn't really seem to actually be that much strategy involved. The tilesets looked great.

dinwy 2021-10-07 06:34

Nice concept! It would be nice to have some obstacle or monsters make to hard to survive. I was able to survive more than 300 and gave up :D But the idea is very interesting. You could improve the idea after the game jam! Well done!

itzemii 2021-10-07 15:05

This is a great base idea. And there is so much atmosphere: knowing that I have to do something in a room, while everything around is collapsing. Plus the nice ZX Spectrum graphics. There is a lot of potential in the idea!!!

vivianmochi 2021-10-10 03:54

This is really cool! I found myself just camping out in one room a lot, so one thing I would love is some kind of score modifier for having multiple rooms alive at once. It was a perfect idea to have the max lifespan for the room decay over time! Also the art is super unique, love it!

ildfuglen 2021-10-10 15:41

The art style is absolutely sick! It's a shame you didn't get to finish it, I would have loved to see the goat.

fabdynamic 2021-10-11 16:58

This is really good with great controls (some of the best in a simple platformer like this especially with the double jump and air jump) I loved the graphics and thought the game was a lot of fun and would love to see more. Could you continue it after the jam? I'll follow you on itch to keep an eye out.
