@pe7e Thanks, I forgot to publish at itch.io after playtesting...
Cool game, I got the planting to work but then started lagging quite a bit with the second wave of aliens.
What a highly alien-feeling world! I definitely felt like I was on another planet, things looked great. The camera perspective was a bit weird, it felt too close to the character to be comfortable, but I did like how the camera shifted a bit with your movement to sort of "look ahead". I also like the "plants vs. zombies" vibe, I think there's a lot of room for expanding on the plants! Very nice submission.
Cool idea and great mood here! its definitely difficult to plant crops without dying because they also shoot me (maybe I've planted them on the wrong ground?) but its an interesting concept, this way you need to be careful. My browser wont let me continue playing when the second wave arrives, though, the framerate drops too much :( Great entry there!
@pe7e and @substain Thanks for the info about the lagging. (Did not have any problems while playtesting) However, I've added a Win and a Mac Version for you to download.
Nice you did a Mac version :-) I love the colour choice, overall mood of the game! Especially the coloring, animation of the alien-robots as well as the "trees with the perforated mushroom umbrellas". As always a very caroesque moody cool world!!! I would have liked some visual(accoutic) feedback when hitting (or not hitting) the robots. It felt often that I did not hit, seems only the body could be shot at, but I don't really know. It took me very very long to find the seeds ... Nice moody entry.
Nice game. Shooting was good and I liked the alien landscape. I ran into lag as well but it seem to be withe the plants only. If I planted and harvested quickly I got through both alien waves and finished the harvest without problems. I really liked the sound the aliens made whemn dying.
Love the werid and unique art style. Difficulty might be a bit high, seemed like i was dying really quick
Cool game! Something strange was happening with the camera, we don't know is it a bug or not. Add some progress would be nice, like strongest enemy or different types of plants. Overall, wonderful! Good job!
@timur-bahadir Thanks, but actually you just have keep some distance between you and the aliens.
Loved the models for the aliens and plants.
Camera and controls are a bit clunky but pretty ambitions game and neat idea! Congrats
Like others said, the camera and mouse sensivity what a bit out of control and lag issues happened near the end, but I still was able to complete and win the game! The environment feels nice and the music is good! I wish the game wasn't one shot kill, especialy as I didn't know crops would start to attack me lol. I liked the shooting and the death animation was pretty nice. Good job overall!
@pauljs Thanks, the controls and the camera where the biggest challenge. A less ambitious vision for it, would have made life much easier for me here.
I have removed the WebGL version so no one will be able to experience lag issues anymore ^^"
This was a really neat concept. I liked the balance you had between shooting and farming, it didn't feel too overwhelming. The environment and mood as well were both pretty stunning, there was a very absurd sort of vibe that was a lot of fun with all the geometric elements and shapes. I liked the switching camera, but found it always swung a bit weirdly when changing, it was slightly disorientating. I also found that when I was shooting, where I was aiming never ended up being where the bullets ended up going, it was always off. Overall this was pretty cool, I enjoyed it.
I love the graphics, there's a real "alien" vibe to them. As others have pointed out, the camera is very finicky, swinging around all over the place, and towards the end of the game it starts juddering and moving all over the place for no apparent reason. I also felt the game could have done with a bit more of an explanation at the start: "get seeds and find a growing area" isn't much of an instruction when you don't know how to get seeds or what a growing area looks like. I spent several minutes wandering around before I figured it out.
There's definitely a solid concept here that can be expanded upon, though. Not bad!
@f1krazy I like it when a game lets you figure out how it works by yourself. Other players did not seem to have any issues with understanding what to do. And yes, the controls where a big challenge but, after playtesting with several people I think your description of camera and controls seem a bit exaggerated. However, thanks for your feedback.
The game shortly became too heavy for my old machine, but I managed to played enough to had fun. Sounds and graphics adds some strange mood, that fits well with the alien idea. Good job!
nice artwork1 good job!
