Neat game, I like the art style and the mechanics. The controls are a little finicky and inaccurate, but I'll give that a pass being it's a gamejam and all. Integrating other things in the environment like the boxes was a cool touch. Timing in some of the puzzles was tricky, even though I figured out the solution. Maybe some sort of ghost of the rewinding character would help with that to show the path it's going to take backward.

twowolf 2021-04-26 15:05

I like the concept really came in to enjoy it but the physics and the hitbox is too wobbly.at the moment. It's not so much the past gray self is not following my movements, I think.. it's more that it interacts with me in a way it's not supposed to. Like I can't use him as a platform for example because he considers me as a wall and stops jumping mid way. Something on those lines.

blaster391 2021-04-26 15:05

This is an awesome concept, really polished little game. Timing jumps so you land on yourself is really satisfying. I did find some of the later levels quite easy once I'd gotten used to the mechanics, but I guess the only real problem with this game is that there wasn't more of if!

Just as a heads up I have found a bug where you can knock yourself through the floor if past you sits on future you. Not too much of a problem since you can restart instantly (and I'd failed the puzzle at that point) Chronohc.PNG

koalatte 2021-04-26 15:05

the soundtrack is catchy, would love a devlog on the music production

niterich 2021-04-26 15:06

Very clever concept! I had a lot of fun playing through this game. I'm not entirely sure how it relates to the theme, though. And some of the levels can be beaten fairly easily without reversing time, which seems like an oversight.

solah 2021-04-26 15:10

Really good game! Every aspect of the game is well polished and the puzzle are well designed. Good job!

nikorasuchan 2021-04-26 15:22

@koalatte I used Bosca Ceoil software, used SiON Drumkit and Square Wave instruments, randomly placed notes for drum until it sounds good. As for Square Wave, I switched to Harmonic Minor scale, randomly placed few notes until it sounded good as well. The entire process took few minutes because I was in a rush.

koalatte 2021-04-26 16:00

@nikorasuchan TIL such a tool exists, will definitely try it out (and hopefully use it in the next ludum dare) thank you so much for also sharing your thought process in creating the jam!

nikorasuchan 2021-04-27 00:29

@koalatte Hey, no problems mate 😉

charles-lacerda 2021-04-27 02:01

Nice game bro! i love it

apos 2021-04-27 02:01

I managed to beat it. It's nice it reminded me of that movie. (Not gonna say the game in case it's a spoiler.)

m01 2021-04-27 02:22

Really nice.

chris1919 2021-04-27 02:23

Awesome game! My favorite so far! It feels like Braid with a dash of Portal. Great concept

evannex 2021-04-27 10:04

This is VERY challenging but amazingly done! I always love games with time loops and this is no exception! I'd love to see a post jam version!

xpoho 2021-04-27 10:06

Застрял в текстурах - игра удалась! В общем, по следам Braid, хорошо ^_^

ds-nahogara 2021-04-27 10:23

Real good platformer! The fact that you control your time makes it great, very clever and fun as hell, fantastic work!

I would love to see more, i think like there could be even more props and stuff like bombs with timer, it could be interesting!

y4nnick 2021-04-27 10:42

Wow, nice game and concept! I managed to find a bug to walk through walls (see screenshot).

Besides that: Some nice sound and graphics :). Realy funny to play! Bildschirmfoto 2021-04-27 um 12.41.01.png

d34th0ftit4n5 2021-04-27 10:43

interesting concept, well executed too, however, the colliders seem quite glitchy sometimes, but good game overall

tombuston 2021-04-27 12:36

Nice entry, a clever concept well executed. I think I finished some of the levels at the end in a way that wasn't planned (I only used 1 portal when there was like 5 in the level). Well done!

nikita-krasnytskyi 2021-04-27 13:55

Didn't know Christopher Nolan was making games xD

junior-lima 2021-04-27 14:03

good mechanics :3

martinek 2021-04-27 15:58

Really interesting idea. Sometimes really glitchy, but very fun overall.

noke 2021-04-27 17:30

Very cool idea, took a while to understand it but it was rewarding once I did!

joonamo 2021-04-27 17:35

Yay, finished it! Think if you could jump into a time portal at the end of the Ludum Dare and the cooperate with yourself to make the game. If that was anything like this game, I'd made a terrible team :joy: How difficult can it be to sync a jump with YOURSELF?! The game was excellent, my cooperation with myself wasn't

andidebob 2021-04-27 19:57

So I thought I was really clever seing myself pushed out of the map. Then I scrolled through the comments...

Aaaaaanyways... This is a super cool idea, getting major braid vibes from this but with a bit of control taken away, which makes the game a good bit harder. Some of the levels were solvable without using the time warp, maybe you should have another look into that, but other than that this game is really cool. The graphics and the sound are on point and the gameplay feels just like I think it should. Well done!

sn4pi 2021-04-27 21:01

This game mechanic is stunning! I really likde the idea and gave it my best - even though it felt like my brain was melting haha. Has alot of speedrunning potential! Saldy I didn't really catch the connection to the theme, the graphics and music was neat

ismael-rodriguez 2021-04-28 00:59

Cool game. The mechanic reminds me of the games we saw for the Stuck in a Loop theme. I got pushed out of the level a couple times. The physics/controls of the player feel good at first until you have to jump off a jumping head, that didn't feel very responsive.

The levels worked well to show off the time loops! The most constructive feedback I could give is; some of the levels feel a repetitive. I think the falling boxes becoming elevators in the last level is a good direction to look at, because that was pretty cool!

Good job! Congratz!

shadowdev 2021-04-28 04:20

Fun game, only thing I have to say is that some of the puzzles can just be skipped.

simpathey 2021-04-29 02:12

Really run and original idea, I could see this as a full length game some day.

mrbrainfed 2021-04-29 02:13

Such an interesting mechanic to play around with. So much fun!

azakharov 2021-04-29 14:15

Greate puzzle. When Braid meets Portal.

potti 2021-04-29 14:59

Now this is an interesting way to deal with time. Looks nice and sounds good. One small thing: In some of the levels, I did not use all (or any) portals, which kind of felt like I was cheating, though I hope this was intended. Nice work!

brett-nz 2021-04-29 18:23

That was fun!

etrealjunior 2021-05-04 03:00

Congratulations on the game, the collision is with some bugs impairing the gameplay a little, but even so it is fun, a big hug, and I await your evaluations regarding my game.

krammetje 2021-05-06 10:37

Nice entry. Reminds me of some of those old flash games I used to play in hischool.

mamon 2021-05-06 10:46

Nice, simple yet exellent game. It look completed that's why it'so satisfying to play it. Minor bugs with collisions are no worth mentioning :D

fluffygamedev 2021-05-06 11:37

Awesome little game! :) The whole paradox mechanic is really cool and I like how some levels don't even require it if you pay attention to the level.

paulsams 2021-05-06 11:41

It was fun. We were not the only ones who took portals as a concept, so).

shin0nome 2021-05-06 11:43

Nice game mechanic it's fun and the level design is on point. Good job !

florianduf 2021-05-06 12:37

I love so much your proposition of puzzle game !! I was very first degree when I tested x) The game mechanic is very interesting and I could pay for the same game but with more level and some improvment.

For a jam the game is polish. But if you plan to improve your game, you need to rethink some levels :)

Good job.

dimlight 2021-05-06 13:02

Nice work! Haha in fact my last one was almost exactly the same as yours, maybe you can try it, https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/creed I think maybe we can think about stopping the flow of time when the player is not moving, and then adding a button to step in place to let the time pass, so maybe the player can more easily control being in the right place at the right time?

nikorasuchan 2021-05-06 14:11

@dimlight Yo, I was surprised how similar our games are. I thought we were the only ones who make this kind of game.

notexplosive 2021-05-06 15:30

I love the core mechanic but I'm a bit confused about how it works. It seems like my past self only moves when I do (Super Hot style)? That seems to be the case except the past self moves for about a second after I go through the portal? I throws off my sense of timing and adds a degree of challenge that I don't think really adds anything to the experience. I really want to like this game but I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the timing.

I think something that would be nice is a "soft" reset button for when you've already gone through the portal. It would reset you to the point where you went through the portal, so your past self is locked in and you're just executing on the second half. The idea is that this is a separate button from the regular reset which you'd still need if you want to adjust your first run.

taylor-carroll 2021-05-06 15:44

Really interesting idea, the core mechanic is really fun to play around with. I just wish it was longer ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)

msipp27 2021-05-06 17:06

the puzzle with the spike pit you jump over using your past self is a little too hard, but i like the fast paced movement, could definitely do with telling you that the time thing isn't a time limit right at the start.

geckoo1337 2021-05-06 17:33

Interesting mechanics - an unusual gaplay which is a little bit confusing at first. I guess that you could do something great using this first release. I would like to say that I prefer this main aesthetic which is better than what you are doing as a post-jam game. It is just my point of view. Well done ++

sunblast 2021-05-06 17:40

Nice game, the controls was a little clunky but the mechanic is really cool. Good job!

kotzi 2021-05-06 19:52

Nice game and pretty interesting mechanics, congrats!

scruffylooking2121 2021-05-07 18:08

I had a lot of fun playing your game. I hope you make more levels. The time-running-backwards idea was fun to experiment with, and balanced with the limited amount of time to spend pre-portal made for an fun balance. I tried to add some extra-long pauses between some of my jumps (to give me a better chance to land on top of myself), but upon playback they didn't seem to have any pauses between. I could however intentionally pause before entering the portal to allow a box to fully fall down. This was fun to play and I feel awesome that I made it to the end!

hempuli 2021-05-16 19:23

Very cool and ambitious! The collision system seemed a bit unpredictable compared to the precision needed for some jumps, but otherwise the puzzles were interesting and the game didn't try to go for anything too complex for its own good. Great work!
