Work perfectly on edge. Nice job.
Thanks! That was fun. I particularly liked the art it was really good. I also thought it was a cool concept that explores the theme in two different but cohesive ways.
Interresting narrative and graphics. It has a really nice atmosphere
Really nice look adn atmosphere in the game
Cute! And a little depressing. I love the minimalist pixel art, the stark end screens, the slow pacing, and the hint at a larger story. The idea to have your movement constrained is nice, and could even work into a narrative theme, but it didn't really become a challenge. Also the music was pretty distracting.
Great game ! I like how you managed narration, it's a good way to tell a story during the gameplay. I liked the atmosphere. Good job !
Very relaxing, yet a bit saddening story. Decided to cut the rope :)
Pros:
- As a JS dev myself, I love how easily you put everything toghether code-wise! - Love the simple pixel art and graduate color / mood change - Actually, overall monotone color pallete is spot-on - Blue whale is a nice touch - Simple audio ques - Liked the narrative, even though a bit sad one
Cons:
- Maybe a bit too simple audio, but it may make sense in long-term - Maybe a bit more animation into the character - Lacking other types of 'obstacles'
Overall a well-executed entry. Love that you used JS. Great Job!
Very interesting game!
The fact that you tell a story as the player collects objects is really a good idea. The small pace of the game lets the player read quietly the story while the level is ending. The graphics are really cool and clean. I like the band of fishes going their way laterally while you sink. The design of the whale is really great too, and the lighting effects are simple but work well with the single color darkening as you sink.
I chose to cut the rope at the end. I wanted to try and follow the whale, but that wasn't possible. At least is was a good last sight.
I used another way in my entry to provide narration into the game, this is really cool to see how other people came with other ideas to tell their stories. Congratulations for the good job!
Really nice game, congrats! Loved the art and atmosphere.
As some feedback, I would try to make it a bit shorter (like having less time between each item) and definitely uploading to somewhere (like itch.io).
I like music, I think it could be improved a little, The graphics are very good, I see how you applied the theme and I really liked the story, it also adds difficulty when you want to read but at the same time avoid the bombs. Great job!
Nice atmosphere and the music reminded me of Ecco the Dolphin. I enjoyed getting pieces of the story but perhaps a bit slow waiting for the next piece to show up. Nice entry!
There is more to this little game than what's at the surface. The mechanics are a little slow and unengaging at times but I love the way that you tell a story through the objects. The audio is simple but works. I got to the bottom but wasn't sure what to do, if anything. Enjoyed it, thanks for making it.
