freaking larry
Nice game you've made. I loved the story behind it, it was really funny. I would like more visibility, because they always caught me when I went somewhere I didn't see properly. I really loved the subtle thing how he gets fatter. Maybe work more on music, having some intermission would help a lot.
I spawned once on small hole next to the level edge without connection to main rooms. But game is really nice to play
Level 15 :D The idea is pretty fun. It's a simple but good game. Just please....if you make a music It's cool, but than make it longer then 2 seconds. I get really annoyed really quickly by that
Pretty cute game. Music gets repetitive but understandably so. The HTML version has the numbers wrap to a second row when any of the food items get to 20. I like the procedurally generated levels. Feels too easy though. It's funny how you ascend when you get lighter and how you widen when you get fatter.
The gradual fattening of Larry as he fell through the floors was a nice touch
Very simple but solid game. Trying to dodge around the enemies and maximize your weight had a really good feel. Potential future improvement: Have a small window in the corner that displays the weights of the food during gameplay. There was a really good puzzle aspect where you wanted to maximize your weight at each level, but it was really hard to remember what all of the weights were.
Nice game, Simple and effective! I played until level 30, my suggestion would be to have a bit more difficulty scaling. Later on I felt no conflict in progression. Despite that it kept me interested enough to play for quite awhile, great job!
it's a simple game, but I ate a lot :meat_on_bone: ! good job!
i like how Larry gets fatter as you continue to play, a true masterpiece
Well, that's one way to get deeper and deeper, Larry. Dunno why the children are harassing a large man instead of eating the food at the buffet, but it makes for a solid game.
Loved it. Took me back to a much older style of computer game.
Cute game, feels kinda retro. some bugs though, did you intend for people to travel outside the outer walls? In addition, at one point i got caught, and got sent back a level but spawned inside a tiny square with nowhere to go.
also, it'd be nice if you were disadvantaged as the game goes on (like if you go a little slower as you got heavier)
otherwise fun game!
Really funny concept! The gameplay is simple, but fun. Kinda like Pac Man extended to its logical, gluttonous conclusion...
I got to around level 21 or so before I threw in the towel. Like some others have posted, ramping up the difficulty as you got heavier would have made it more compelling.
Great work for your first LD entry!
Nice jam! Interesting take on the theme :) Loved that the character got wider over time XD Nice music.
I like that when they bit off of me, it took them a few seconds until they started chasing me again. But it was a bit too easy to ran away from them.
Awesome game, very funny concept. I made it to level 12. Were the levels procgen? Well done if they were. All in all a great LD entry. Nice one
Burp sfx would be nice). Getting fatter and falling deeper is quite a concept! I suppose, it's a very hard game for those who try to lose weight.
The premise cracked me up and it was an interesting take on the theme. The music was a bit repetitive as you go through the levels - either a longer loop or variations would have been nice. Great work!
Nice game! I really liked the take on the theme but it was a bit confusing at first because I was going deeper on almost every piece of food I got, so I didn't feel that "hey, you need to look for more food to keep going" (which is pretty clear a few levels after). Maybe you could just increase a bit the minimum weight for the first few levels.
Overall a cool submission, congrats!
If you want to emphasise the puzzle aspect more, you could probably make the upper levels persistent (so you eventually run out of food), or you could show the calorie values more prominently so I can plan ahead.
