Impressive work! Brings back fond memories of Sim City :) I like the audio a lot.

mattress 2015-08-24 02:33

That was probably one of the best games I've rated so far! Good job!

timwright 2015-08-24 02:34

Very interesting. Nice to destroy some stuff.

korso 2015-08-24 02:43

This is the best game I've played today. Cool mechanics, good use of particles (although the game slows down form me when using multiple tsunami) and very fun.

evergreen-games-ludum-dare 2015-08-24 02:50

Awesome! Super satisfying. The monster is epic

gravitygames 2015-08-24 02:55

I had a lot of fun playing this entry. Each disaster reacted differently, and while it took some getting used to, I had a lot of fun trying each of them out to learn how they work. I could actually see this expanding out rather well into a full game! If I had to complain about something, it would be that there's only a few maps, but this is a game made in 48 hours, so it's understandable.

burgerdare 2015-08-24 03:23

very neat. The different disasters all feel unique and satisfying to use, although I felt it was a little unclear how they worked at first. A few tutorial levels might be nice, as well as a quick in-game explanation of how to switch between them and use them. I found that unclear until I glanced at the description on this page. Once I did, though, I found this to be quite a lot of fun.

asian 2015-08-24 03:47

Cool!

sam-twidale 2015-08-24 03:49

This also brings back Sim City-like nostalgia for me, pretty funny too.

sepharoth213 2015-08-24 03:57

Brilliant work! I love the aesthetic and the matching music. I sat around listening to the calm undestroyed-town music for a while lol.

The biggest disappointment of this project to me was all of the potential that we didn't get to see for this compo. Things like disaster fusions (tornado + fire = ????), puzzle levels, mitigation teams (firefighters, etc.) all are begging to be a part of the game, but as it stands, it's wonderful for 48 hours.
Great job, and congrats on the entry!

cgmorton 2015-08-24 03:58

Haha this game is great! Great music, great feel, very satisfying. The fire/monster was a bit random at times, and the fire could take a while to go out - but that's the only criticism I can think of. Cheers!

micdoodle8 2015-08-24 04:21

The satisfaction of destroying cities hasn't gotten old since 1993. Nice entry :)

jelinib 2015-08-24 04:34

Just like the others, this takes me back to my Sim City days of summoning all the disasters I could--but without the extra hassle of having to fix everything afterward! Absolutely genius. The disasters are very satisfying and mesmerizing to watch! You sure worked some magic with those pixels!

Oh, hahaha. I left the game idle on the title screen, and now the giant monster is just flipping out in the middle of the screen. He must be suffering destruction withdrawals already!

This is a really fun game! Please add more to it later!

guoboism 2015-08-24 04:41

Great game. Polished in such short time!

markoburzan27 2015-08-24 05:03

very fun love it coul;dint stop playing 5/5

fiveironfanatic 2015-08-24 05:06

This feels really polished! The variety of the disasters is great, though I wish there were a little explanation of which each one is at the very beginning. Maybe a level select/restart level functionality to make it easier to experiment?

And I wish the monster had more than one frame of animation to make its movement a bit more interesting. Even a two-frame with it moving its claws up and down would help.

All in all, though, this is great!

khaotom 2015-08-24 07:34

Wonderful!

kahztein 2015-08-24 08:11

A brilliant and fun game, you defiantly deserve top 100!

twixtortitan 2015-08-24 10:17

Impressive! looks really interesting.

chromebookbob 2015-08-24 10:54

great in all respects, I love the particle effects

qkerguelen 2015-08-24 15:35

Great job, i really liked the graphics and it was really fun to destroy everything!

elenesski 2015-08-24 17:09

Surprisingly addictive. Great concept. Awesome job.

pighead10 2015-08-24 22:17

Extremely satisfying. Fun game.

deadpan-gamez 2015-08-25 22:09

Really fun little game, music was amazing art the controls great job :)

jodizzle 2015-08-26 02:34

What a great entry! I loved this game, definitely one of my favorites so far. It's great to see a game embellish one of the funner sides of the SimCity genre, and embrace the ld33 theme with style. Plus, the audio was just about perfect; definitely a highlight.

There are some features missing that I would like to see eventually: opportunities for disasters to combo (this might require a greater set of available disasters), a greater diversity in level challenges, and the ability to shoot water up and down, not just left and right (this one was more inexplicable -- was I just screwing something up?). But, all in all, it's an amazing compo product. Congrats.

apc 2015-08-27 19:14

I thought it was really good. It was a creative idea that went with the theme. I really liked the was the tsunamis looked (even if it did slow down my computer lol)

joror 2015-08-27 22:29

Ah CGA-ish simcityscaping... cool! Took me a little while to get the controls down. A 'target' high score or even a percentage of total score would have been cool to add. :)

dalbinblue 2015-08-27 23:33

Definitely reminds me of SimCity, specifically what I would do to my brother's cities when he wasn't looking. Definitely a nice laid back game. I got through all the levels without a problem, which either means I'm amazing at it, or more likely there isn't a fail condition. Quite fun, and funny to see the mother explode for no reason. Also one quick question. I noticed in the fourth screenshot the tsunami is moving right, but I only ever got it to go left. How do you change the direction of the attacks?

terracottafrog 2015-08-28 00:25

You change the direction of attacks by using the mouse. An arrow appears, but I should have made it clearer. I edited the description to point that out. There is no fail condition. You just try for the highest score you can.

druid 2015-08-28 14:13

Probably most catchy game gere! Amazing idea, ultimate gameplay and neat graphics! All 5 for you sir!

redzero 2015-08-28 14:35

Awesome game!

voidstar33 2015-08-28 16:50

Very engaging game. Fun particle effects and tsunami is awesome. Excellent work. Did not understand the scoring system though. Felt random. If you could add some challenges, it will be even more awesome.

freaknarf 2015-08-29 13:40

Great game :) the best part of sim city exploited...
That was fun and very destructive, i loved the very well done old school design and blastbeating music... The only bad point is that it lakes a bit of difficulty but crushing cities for high score is fine too ! Nice job !

mubox 2015-08-31 01:36

Interesting. :]

bodsey 2015-09-01 17:47

Yeah I can see the inspiration from the early Sim Cities XD it's a nice idea and a solid execution. I wish I had more info about how things work, I'm a bit confused

Shadow 2015-09-03 00:48

Incredibly fun game! Loved the whole look & feel. It was like playing the "random" disasters in SimCity.

SFXs were a bit too loud for my old ears I guess, but it didn't take away from the fun of destroying cities.

Awesome entry indeed. Good job!

drauthius 2015-09-03 18:29

Really good entry. Would have been nice if each level had a goal, like X% destruction or X number of points.

jupiter_hadley 2015-09-06 13:19

Nice game. I included it in part 19 of my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) http://youtu.be/bouSnGLQUcs

mubox 2015-09-14 23:12

We have fixed our game, if you want to see it again. ^^
Thank you.
