This game made me laugh so hard. First of, it's way too hard lol. Why is he so fast!? I can't help run into the spikes! And when no spikes, you get killed by arrows. But it was funny. So much personality! I love how he starts thinking when you're idle and also the random 3D model in the end screen. So good! Tasty! I love this goblin guy, he's just a funny lil guy

very nice game. i also like the idle Animation when you doing nothing 😊. Very great visiuals.

Thanks for playing! I managed to fix it so the rest of the levels are accessible now. If you get stuck, just hit '+' on the numpad for the debug mode I was too lazy to remove.

Level 10 is the last level. There is a very lacklustre 'win' screen if you make it!

Could definitely use some hitbox changes, seems like the player hitbox is 1.5x the size it should be but outside the added difficulty it's a fun concept!

tranceplant 2025-10-15 04:54

Very nice idea but I don't have much else to add besides what the other comments here are saying. Hitboxes are deceptively big and available movement space is deceptively small.

Those animations are really fun but I just spent my time hitting spikes farm from me or having a hard time to precisely control the character that required very quick dodges. Congrats!

leorean 2025-10-15 19:57

Wow, you really nailed that 90's vibe! Great job!

blackcat508 2025-10-16 01:29

This is really fun! I like the fast movement, and its actually pretty hard!

fivecyclops 2025-10-16 08:22

Nice work! It took me a while to figure out that you had to drop a coin on the tile to stop the dwarf on it. A little clue, such as seeing a dwarf with a coin somewhere else, could put us on the right track. Or better yet, the player steps on a tile that releases a dwarf who rushes towards them but stops on a coin (at the beginning of the level or in a previous level). In any case, it was very nice.

The style reminds me of some obscure old DOS-games in an endearing way.

I like the fact that you've went away and added mobile-controls too (even though I didn't use them now).

I don't know why but I couldn't pass the level with the switch, even though I tried everything and even enabled the DEBUG-functions (which is also a nice little addition!).

---

PS. Oh, now I read the previous comment with the solution. I knew I was able to drop coins, but didn't realize that the axe-guy would stop there, duh! Let's see if I'll return to finish it at some point!

dis0rder 2025-10-16 18:59

Yay, I managed to make it to the end (I noticed that I did leave the game still running on another tab after all)

If it weren't for your DEBUG-mode with invincibility, I probably wouldn't have made the effort. Some of the segments were quite hard even for a masocore-veteran of ye olde DOS-era.

---

I really like the fact that you went and included the DEBUG-function, since it was interesting to see under the hood. The green button indicators looked funky filling the screen in the last level when it was enabled.

But I bet it was quite useful to you during development.

---

The music was also well put together to enhance atmosphere, and I liked the overall sound-effects as well. The spikes had a good "feel" to them sound-wise.

I enjoyed the quite rough/sharp sound when you pushed the barrels, but it probably would feel more "right" when pushing a concrete-block or something.

---

But yeah, this was a nice experience.

Keep on jamming!

Once I understood movement was tile-based, difficulty was much better (though I agree we need a hint about the dwarf stopping on coins). Nice animation/sound design by the way!

jin9310 2025-10-20 13:18

I have to say that atmosphere is really cool and I am not fully sure, but I hope I am right, I like when sound design reflects the gameplay, it really pulls the player in and I felt that way. Great job on that! Iverall it felt bit hard, but that was mainly because I was inpatient and ran into traps multiple times :) Great job!

kahztein 2025-10-20 21:16

That was a fun game! The audio and graphics are very well done for a jam game, definitely something to be proud of. The puzzles were neat, it can be tricky to get a handle of the movement, especially when you need to make quick or precise movements, but it does make it satisfying to beat the levels.

whysguy52 2025-10-20 21:26

nice. Loved it. Controls were kinda loose/fast but that could be something on my end.

fiordarancio 2025-10-20 21:55

Good old' game, and way too hard for me  too fast, some tiles were maybe misplaced, weird walls on left and right... but I really enjoyed it though and laughed a lot! I also spent time just looking at the animation of the goblin looking at you perplexedly, waiting for your input. Menu transitions are very smooth and I liked the sound design!

kaliuresis 2025-10-20 22:35

Very nice game!

My main complaint would be that it feels too zoomed in, where most of the time you can't see the effect of pushing buttons, especially the first time you encounter one. That level also feels like an anti-tutorial for the dwarf where it incorrectly teaches you that the dwarf ignores coins, since the first thing you see is that he walks straight through the coin that spawns along his path.

Wonky hitboxes aside, I actually like the speed of the original version more than the post-jam version. It feels smoother and more responsive without the delay between your movements. Maybe one way to make it feel more responsive without it being too fast would be if you cancel the current move when you release the button within some distance, so that you stay inside the square you were in when you released even if you already started walking to the next. Another option would be to make it so you only move when you press a button and not while you hold it, although that would more drastically change the feel of the game.

Aside from those issues I had a great time with it :)

marp 2025-10-21 00:56

I played the first game submitted. The game is good and simple but the controls are frustrating to me, even to a point that I did not play the whole thing.

manamat 2025-10-21 01:49

The 3D model caught me off guard lmaoo, it was so funny seeing the goblin there right after dying. Others have mentioned the hitbox is too big and I definitely think the the movement can be improved next. Might just be me but I think the music is a little too loud and it drowned out the SFX. Otherwise it was a ton of fun!

yibirabbit007 2025-10-21 04:43

Wow, I thought I could skip the second level, but it seems I was slightly deceived. The greedy guy wants to get all the coins! It really tests your reaction, indeed.
