LD39 — Running out of Power

Galvanica by icxon 2017-08-03T13:50:54Z

All the attention to detail really shines through in this game. Manually navigating the ship through an asteroid belt? No problem. Throwing chairs into menacing aliens? You got it. Picking up fires and frying your brain in a space storm? Absolutely!

Now if you excuse me, I have to go play some more!

@Timbaleek, yes. You retire after 10 missions.

Starship by wesley werner 2017-08-04T01:03:24Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The game is very crude, made in one day. It is repetitive and I regret not adding more humour to break the pattern. All great points :)

To clear up mission logic: * Fly over a new planet to get a new mission * The mini-map highlights a red dot where the mission planet is located * Flying over the mission planet completes the mission * Once a planet is used for completing a mission, you cannot get a new mission from it. Go find another new planet

This game is captivating. Great use of shadows to bring out the nasties, polished graphics and smooth controls. A very solid entry!

Dauntless Run by Ninjascribble 2017-08-03T04:58:48Z

Your ship's inertia makes it feel "slidey" and hard to navigate with precision, great entry overall!

Buzzy Bee by Estebe 2017-08-03T04:53:31Z

Your game has nice art and a clear concept, I find it hard to play with a laptop trackpad, max 20%. Your game would be very fun to play on a touch device. Good job!

Patient Out Of Time by ironfroggy 2017-08-01T17:37:32Z

I would say this game is more about running out of time, but there are batteries and evil robots included! You got the atmosphere down, and I find myself compelled to help the strange doctor keep his patient alive, albeit via his peculiar methodology. The shooting is a bit weird as I am not sure where the aim is going, but managed to kick some robot butt. The hospital compass is a great tool.

I dare say this game is well worth your efforts, it shows fun robot butt-kicking potential. Plus I love LÖVE games on LD!

Berzerk Hunt by TheFunAttic 2017-08-03T14:55:46Z

It is gory and disturbing. Good thing it's only a game! Good work! Bug note: You can't escape from the instruction menu.

Excellent!

Power by KRP 2017-08-02T16:50:21Z

Hey this looks real fun, except it won't run under WINE on Linux :(

kbmonkey@multivac:power$ wine Power.exe wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0xf759ff96 (thread 0009), starting debugger...

Jupiter II ‒ Survival by Timbaleek 2017-08-01T17:02:16Z

The game just exits directly after selecting a screen resolution, there is no errors in the terminal to indicate why. This is with the Linux version. Your screenshots are really beautiful and I want to play your game :)

Jupiter II ‒ Survival by Timbaleek 2017-08-02T17:13:25Z

@patr Debian Jessie 8.8 64-bit. I only have intel integrated graphics, so that could be an issue? There are no errors, just the sudden exit when I click "OK" on the resolution selection screen. Running via the GNU debugger I see "[Inferior 1 (process 1007) exited with code 01]". Sorry that is not very helpful :p

The Last Question by Terribly Awesome Games 2017-08-02T04:58:30Z

This is a moody and thoughtful experience, good choice on the music and very expressive art and visuals. Great effort!

It is a shame you cannot full-screen the canvas, you should consider porting a post-comp version of this to vanilla JavaScript.

An enjoyable puzzle game! Kudos for making it web based.

ULTIMATE PROSELYTISM & MIRACLES SIMULATOR 2017: THE MOVIE THE GAME by Reuh 2017-08-02T18:55:31Z

The theme is a bit in reverse, instead of running out of power, you attempt to gain the power you already lost. But all these misgivings are made up for with the magnificent art and thoughtful level design! I played right through to the end, and loved all of it! My lowest point was when I saw the unicorn cooldown was 18000+s. Great effort and a LÖVEly game!

Great entry! The procedural levels helps enormously for re-playability, glad you implemented that.
