A great game with this good atmosphere. Its a good mechanic for the theme. And graphic assets are uncommun, so it's a good point
Well done !

Well done !
I'm amazed that this game has not received more ratings! This is easily one of the most polished and well-made games I've played so far, and I absolutely love it! The art, the writing, and sound are all excellent. Such a good game please keep working on it!
The music fit very well with the mood of you're story. Although I think you should explain the keyboard controls in the game instead of using the controller, most people do not have controlers. Great game overall! Thank You!
The music is very nice and the atmosphere is nice too! Sadly, Keyboard Controls don't work (controller controls work tho but aren't great either). But hey, not every game needs amazing gameplay, sometimes its about the atmosphere :)
Very neat ! The soundtrack keep looping in my head
I really enjoyed art style. The parallax background is a nice touch. I loved the mood of this game.
Rally nice art and music. Maybe it is just me, but I really didn't get what should I do in the game. I used lights at the lamp posts to get over the bridges, but at the end of the level, when I go into the bush the game still ends.
I love the gaphics and the music, I had some trouble using the keyboard controller I wish that the tutorial listed both buttons or the buttons used were closer together.
As other people said, I also liked the graphics and audio design, but the point of the general gameplay loop wasn't as clear. I tried lighting up different lamp posts, different number of them, wait for some time, but nevertheless I always got a gameover either by using too much of fairy light or after reaching the bush.
Thanks all of you for playing my game! A boolean value was not set correctly to display to good end! The patch is now online just be to clearer !
That is a very well polished game! Got a "Limbo" kind of feel to it, but with more detailed assets. I like the gameplay too, though i was a little confused of what to do besides lighting the posts which created bridges. Im pretty sure i died, but i couldn't really tell how to continue. So maybe guide the player a little bit more? Maybe it's just me who is bad so it wont affect my ratings, but i really like that it is storydriven! The font could be a little more clear though. But nice game, great mood!
Thank you ! I had not enough time to build a correct level design. My goal was the atmosphere, drawing, music and story. You can kill the fairy if you use to often light. In this case, try to light on all lamps or if you reach the final bushes you are already to the fairy hill!
Wow nice art and audio ! The gameplay can be weird with the keyboard. But the atmosphere is very nice good job ^^
So there was a single level ? Not to look down on it, but knowing if I succeded or not wasn't very clear. Also playing on keyboard, jumping felt useless and I don't know if I even dashed. Very nice music, graphics and mood nonetheless.
I really liked the intro and the lovely atmosphere. I found the actual game pretty unplayable on keyboard. Good sound design. It drew me, I just couldn't to much once I was there. Fantastic work on the design elements.
Such a carefully polished game. Love the part when Dumbledore's words show up at game over. Makes me always want to try again lol. Good job! Look forward to more of your works and love to know what you think of my entry~
Very nice atmosphere and audio. The mood is a 5/5. It's a very nice short experience.
As others before me, I really liked the art, audio and the overall atmosphere! The story was also nice, though a bit sad ( in a good way ;) ) Great job!
I really like the atmosphere of your game. It makes you want to know more of the story! The quotes are a nice little touch to the game! The music fits well with the art style! I liked how you even cared for controller input! Greato Jobu!
@phenix Yeah there is a single level. This is not clear enough because I use the same quote on good and bad ending (Time run so fast) and changed just the image.
@flipsy Now that I will be the ranking I gonna take time to push a post ludum version for keyboard.
@god-colo As an old DM of role playing game, I have some huge ideas for a strong story telling game and I will probably work further on this game after a bit of cleaning in the code.
Thanks all of you for playing.
Beautiful artwork in this game, I like the idea of using the faerie but not using it too much.
Audio, Mood and Graphics are perfect! I struggled with the keys. Would have liked to work more with the mouse, cause the key instructions did not work on my keyboard (localization?). But that might also be, that i generally prefer mouse over keyboard. Anyway, love the story & mood that makes you want to keep playing and that is already a buy from my side :)
A pretty little game with sweet music and a great Dumbledore quote 😁 (might want to pay attention when you wanna continue t work on this, might wanna come up with a legally safe knock-off haha) The mood was awesome, and yaay, contoller support! In the beginning I didn't know what to do to be honest. The bridge was a huge gap to me that I couldn't jumo over, at first I thought I was expiriencing bug (btw inor Interface bug: sometimes during the tutorial it said "sprite" and other Code stuff instead of showing the buttons etc) nothing major, though
I might have wished for more puzzles but considering you did this all by yourself you did a good job! :)
Thanks all of you for playing "A fairy tale".
@kittyfeeda I finally uploaded a version with a different support for keyboard, it should be better.
@fatPenguin Yeah for sure this quote will be removed in a future version but I found that it fits what my story wanted to tell. I know for the dialog, I saw it during my tests, and it will the first thing I'm gonna rework. More puzzle and more stories in a future version for sure.
As I already said, feel free to join the discord. We have discussed yesterday on the future of "A fairy tale" with pals (yaeh we used french for this subject) and already imagine what it could become.
Great atmosphere! I really liked the intro scenes and music too.
Worked like a charm today for me. Well done :)
Thanks! 3 days jams - 4 days of rework for the same game - 40% lines of code removed.
Interesting game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/a4mUfaMtGeE
mom...hot?
Pretty and atmospheric game :)
