I really liked the custom models and the sound effects were great! However I encountered a bug where when I needed to enter my name I didn't have a mouse so I couldn't click on the text box you might want to fix that!

Similarly encountered the textbox issue! Also had trouble moving after gravity shifted. I do like the lighting/color scheme
Neat concept here! Floating across the level when gravity is totally reversed was a neat feeling and sometimes worked really well. Unfortunately I would frequently get caught in the floor when gravity went to the side; perhaps if the player was also rotated to be able to walk properly on walls?
The voice acting was fun, and it's always nice to see someone go that extra level with sound.
It took me quite a while to find the shotgun - I know you put the button for change weapon in the game description, but I totally forgot for a bit. The rocket launcher is very powerful, but the splash damage was so unforgiving I ended up using the shotgun exclusively to avoid killing myself on a surprise collision with a wall.
Nice entry, I restarted several times to try for a higher score. =)
@justinmullin We are working on a fix for that right now, and its looking promising. Feel free to try again on the next patch :D
@sprunth @elveverx @justinmullin There's a new version now that adresses a lot of your issues and has an online scoreboard :D
I played to version 1.0 release, for reference. The voice acting is fantastic, and sets a fun mood! I think the controls were a little rough, especially when on the walls or ceiling. Most of the gameplay was spent unable to move while crammed in a corner of the ceiling and walls. I really like the concept, but if instead of shifting gravity, the entire map rotated (to simulate shifting gravity) it would've worked much better to allow the player better control over their movement while on the walls. The enemies were super creepy looking! Great job all around on the art direction- you all did a fantastic job.
Obviously you're aware of some of the issues in the 1.0 release (as they were patched in a newer release) like the textbox issue.
My high score was 3,045. I don't know if that's impressive or not, but I gave it a couple of tries. Overall, I really like this game. The synthwave neon aesthetic with the goofy voice over is a lot of fun, I just wish I didn't get stuck unable to move so often. Nice game!
Unfortunately it doesn't work properly for me (trying to run in Linux using Wine). Most of the screen is black, the text on the buttons in the main menu is missing, etc. I was able to hear the audio in the main game, though. The voice acting sounds great!
@3lstmsinatrenchcoat I added a Linux build now just for you ;) I wasn't able to test it but I'm gonna set up ubuntu in a virtual box later to test that it works. It's only for version 0.2 though
I really like this game, keep at it!
@dj-depressive Thanks!
The concept is great, and the enemies definitely look like something terrifying created up by an evil entity who makes people fight to the death in a weird gravity-defying arena. Seeing one of those giant bears running towards you is terrifying.
Floating around and trying to land on the underside of tables etc. was very cool. Unfortunately, the physics/movement seemed fairly janky (I got caught on corners a lot in weird ways, and it often seemed like trying to move in certain gravity conditions had unexpected behaviour). That kinda gets in the way of enjoying this very physics/movement-based concept to the fullest extent possible. But I definitely had fun.
How the heck did someone get 6000+ points! That's crazy! Pretty cool entry love the audio and music!
Good graphics, but I had a hard time undertanding what the announcer was saying. Some text describing the change in mechanics would help.
@elmismopancho Thanks for the feedback! Yeah we've been thinking about adding something else than audio to indicate when a mechanic changes. We'll make sure to add it in the next version ;)
Nice job!
I liked the art style, the music and the voice. The options menu right at the start is cool, I wished I could access it from the pause during game. The controls are intuitive at first but become weird when you change gravity. The idea is very cool though! I played v0.1 and found the self damage you can do with the bazooka quite punishing and with a very big aoe.
Thanks for the game I had fun!
Appreciate the feedback @doot!
Yeah we addressed those issues in version 0.2/0.21, bummed we couldn't manage to do it before the jam ended :/
@dj-depressive That would be helpful for people with hearing disabilities, or if english is not your native language.
Nice game, with good graphics and audio. I especially like the echo-y voice actor! The hitboxes for the enemies felt a tiny bit broken, and the rotating felt off at times though. I'd occasionally get stuck and get confused which direction it was rotating. Still pretty fun! I killed myself with the rocket launcher on accident
@elmismopancho Absolutely, that is a very good point!
@staticbits Glad you had fun :) Yeah I think that darn rocket launcher has killed me more times than the enemies
Something is definitely off with the hitboxes of the enemies, we'll look into it ;)
I played the jam submission version first so that I could rate the game fairly. But it seems like you guys have already heard about all the bugs with it (and fixed them, what a response time!).
It was a really fun changeup from the FPS games I'm used to, having gravity keep changing and seeing what that does to the gameplay loop. Unfortunately, I wasn't very good at it lol. Did you intend for the mouse aim to be smoothed? If not, I think that would make it feel a ton more responsive, just using raw mouse input.
Really like art work here and I like overall mood. I love to smash all smilling faces with a bazooka. Swirling room mechanic seems to be pretty unique.
Unfortunately I couldn't figure out when actually I loose health points. I couldn't see any enemy attacking me, but I was hurt anyway. Probably some hurt indicator would solve this particular problem.
Overall I enjoyed the game, wish there is more guns to explore.
@ryjcio Really happy you enjoyed our game :) I totally agree with your point of there not being enough feedback when you get hurt, we're currently working on a solution to make it more clear ;)
We did have a minigun planned but time caught up with us unfortunately, maybe we'll add it in a later update :P
@mhorth Glad you found it fun :D I know exactly what you mean in regards to the mouse being smooth, it was not intended :/
This looks like a cool concept that could turn into a really fun game with more polishing. The sound design is very satisfying, aside from the really annoying jump sound imo. My main issues (aside from the game not running as smoothly as I think it should on my machine) are: - The movement / physics being very janky and limiting my options to jump (or even walk, sometimes) on platforms. A lot of the supposed effects did not really work as expected for me. Zero-Gravity, for instance, didn't seem to do a thing (maybe I didn't understand how to control it?). - The changes in mechanics are happening without any time to prepare. "The floor is now lava!" - Dead. You could announce the change(s) that is/are going to happen ahead of time with a countdown perhaps, giving the player time to prepare.
If the green capsules are a means to heal back up, I didn't have the chance to find out. I've never managed to reach one in the short time I was playing.
the game is confusing and the enemies are broken, gravity changing sucks and your weapons damage you and there is that moment where you are stuck between edges of the room
@chaosbrick Thank you for playing! The points you bring up are definitely things we are considering (and working on implementing/fixing).
Glad you liked the audio. (: I had a feeling the jumping sound could be obnoxious, but time was ticking and I decided to just go with the memes!
This is incredibly beautiful for a jam game. The visuals are so satisfying to look at. Audio is perfect too. Art is amazing, I enjoyed it a lot. the gravity and turning room thing is very creative. I want to say again, the graphics are so beautiful in this game, I love it. I don't like shooting with guns in games, but a lot of people do. I would prefer to throw something like a magic ball to destroy enemies, but this is a very personal thing. I said it just to give an idea. Whatever, I enjoyed this game a lot especially the graphics and the weird turning effect, congratulations for making such beautiful looking game :)
@cemre it warms to hear this amazing feedback! :two_hearts:
Graphically it looks great, but for me there was so little feedback that I could barely bring myself to play the game, I didn't know how much health enemies had or how many more hits I'd need to take them out, I didn't have feedback when I took damage or a health bar, I didn't know if I'd hit an enemy and I constantly killed myself with splash damage from the rocket launcher. Player movement and overall handling felt a little clunky especially during gravity changes.
That's not to say there are not good things! Like I said before it looked beautiful, the announcer was great for a good laugh and added to the mood, the game was super fast paced and exhilarating and the weapon feel was oh soo good. The changes to environmental conditions within the dome were innovative and the music... OHHHH the music! I couldn't get enough!
Bravo, there is some serious blood, sweat and tears behind this beauty!
Really cool concept! It felt very trippy to play with the gravity changing all the time, I think rather than being to walk up and down walls it would be a bit easier to stay coordinated if the player rotation changed to match the new gravity, so you always stand on the ground. The art and audio is very nice ^^
@yahya-alruby fair but also a bit harsh I think
@sharks Thanks your your great review!
I agree with most of your criticism and they're things we are trying to work out for our next release.
It warms my heart that you took note to all the hard work we put in 🥲
uhh sorry for that I was just confused maybe a bit angry cause I always loose stucking at the edge of the room or by killing my self but the idea, graphics, weapon particles and audio are good after all it just needs some fixing when it comes to health systems and room rotation so keep it up
@yahya-alruby Thank you for your updated review
Those are all very fair complaints. Yeah the game is currently pretty broken, we're working on it and it's gradually becoming more and more stable ;)
Really nice graphics and the random modifiers were pretty cool, nice game
@duckonaut Thank you! <3
Oh wow, I am bad at this XD
Cool game. Controls are nicely wacky, music is pleasant and fit well with the game, and graphic looks good and clean. Good job!
@zimny11 Thank you very much! :D
The concept is really cool, i noticed some issues with the navmesh as it was a bit lost once the level flipped. overall the game is pretty fun, good job !
A lot of fun with this rotating dome! Would be nice to have a clear sounds for hitting target and for receiveing the damage, but still great job! Thanks!
Interesting and challenging game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/_QnfntM1G-4
@jupiter-hadley Thanks for the feedback! <3 Nice video :)
