LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Celestial Corruption by godsboss 2021-05-14T18:43:00Z

I had fun dodging projectiles. A bit hard to follow the story, graphics are cool. Some upgrades to your spaceship, even if just a different kind of projectile would be nice. Also some better sense of the fact that you're actually progressing somewhere, going deeper and deeper. Still, good job, keep going! :)

Relaxing game! A bit of nitpicking is perhaps redundant walking and as has been mentioned, the 50/50 puzzles. Loved the interactions though, they're satisfying even if they're easy, so as an introduction to the game's systems it's great.

Everything fits together quite well, nice music and audio. Continuously giving advice with a voice over could probably get a bit tedious, but I feel you get away with it, because the game isn't very long after all.

I enjoyed the gameplay, but I feel you had to wait around quite a bit before the last two whales get enough water, which doesn't really add much to the challenge anyway, I get that you can make the water go faster by optimizing how you dig the path, but even when I had the number going really fast it still took a while. It definitely would be more interesting to experiment with different ways to get the water to the whale, rather than how to do it as efficiently as possible.

As for the theme, you can only dig so deep. It's more about digging a trench, making it longer and longer, not deeper and deeper.

Everything else that I haven't mentioned is great, very solid entry all in all!

Ludum Postal by jvolonte 2021-05-14T19:05:10Z

I wasn't too sure how this fit into the theme, I mean I can see it, but it wasn't very clear. Physics are always fun, a lot of music, which is impressive. Some small variations in the sound of the boxes bumping around would be sweet. Interesting and fun idea, can get a bit repetetive, but enjoyed my stay for 6 game days! Solid entry though, it stuck out.

That soundtrack slaps! It's a fun little arcady-game! (: The presentation really helps elevate it (or de-elevate, beacause, deeper and deeper)

Devil Diver by theheheo 2021-04-28T19:39:11Z

@oc1d Thanks for playing! :) I am not sure which problem you encountered when dying. A random snipe by an enemy cultist perhaps? But yeah, you make good points with the movement and empty spaces.

And yeah the amount of enemies to kill is random each time you restart the game or enter the portal, which sometimes lead to very few kill counts or fairly many :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: The mystical thing killing you is: Yourself!

This game uses health as mana, so if you spam your abilities you will die!

@someone Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

LD49 — Unstable

Project S.L.I.M.E. by Dioinecail 2021-10-08T12:19:28Z

Likes others I weren't sure of what exactly to do at the start, but I figured it out quickly enough.

I do wish I would've had some more feedback for the players and enemies hitting eachother, at x1 speed nothing seems to be happening at all, increasing the speed makes it apparent that stuff is going on though, so I do appreciate that it's there, maybe the base speed should just be overall faster.

Interesting concept, there's definitely room for more simplied strategy games like this one. I assume the theme is due to the experiment being unstable, but aside from perhaps the narrative, I don't feel that big of a connection to the theme.

Alas, nice work and cool game! Keep making them! (:

@chaosbrick Thank you for playing! The points you bring up are definitely things we are considering (and working on implementing/fixing).

Glad you liked the audio. (: I had a feeling the jumping sound could be obnoxious, but time was ticking and I decided to just go with the memes!
