It was pretty fun. One thing I would suggest is using WASD for movement if the mouse is something used for game play, I found it a little awkward to use the arrows with my left hand(but for left handed people it's probably fine).

Interesting idea, but it is very hard to play (I have not found any object to recover energy). Graphics looks nice and clean, sound effects fit the game, but could be better.

wesxdz 2017-08-01 17:14

Awesome job with the mood, the first time I shined the light behind me and found a monster, I was super freaked out. I wish the WASD keys were used for movement instead of the arrow keys, this is kind of necessary if you expect players to use a mouse.

Fun Game. But the monster kept walking around the safe zone where I was and I couldn´t escape :(

brorawr 2017-08-01 17:34

The sound effects could use some mastering, you can use Audacity and try to manipulate the sounds so that they fit better with your game. For instance, I would try to lower the levels of the mechanic sounds, add som base to it and a slight reverb/echo since we are inside a big space ship :) For controls I agree with DemonQueen, using WSAD might help!

Great entry nevertheless, great job! :)

Good job on the atmosphere. Hearing the monster but not knowing where it was felt pretty creepy. Everybody else has pointed out the controls problem so me doing that is probably unnecessary. Going through a dark maze with no indication of where to go does get a bit boring after a while. It might have been better if there was some sort of map or indicator. I liked the addition of the save zones so that if you ran out of power it was still possible. It would just be much harder.

Hello guys, thanks for playing i'm one the game creator :D We really thanks you for your comment and rating. I want to answer to the question of control : we have done the choice to take arrow because of compatiblity with all keyboard azerty and qwerty. Thanks again !

Great mood, very atmospheric. I love maze-based games and I had lots of fun with yours. My main issue was that the monster took too much time to get scared by light (so you can't run from sudden encounters) Happened to me to that I got stuck in a light area without the monster going away.

yetman 2017-08-02 13:47

The mood was great and gameplay was good. That things truly scared me the first time it appeared.

raaaahman 2017-08-02 13:57

Sorry for the controls guys, we won't do that again, promise!

@MrChippy > You're right, without indication the wandering could be quite long, but I wonder if it would still be a maze if you know where to go from the start... Do you think of some in-between that could work?

sanojian 2017-08-03 15:31

Super creepy and great lighting effect and use of sound. It felt a bit random just wandering around with no clues, though.

local-minimum 2017-08-05 15:29

Cool concept! I didn't quite figure out what the end goal was, but I enjoyed roaming around the dark corridors. I would have wanted the light-cone to be a bit more cone-shaped and also gotten a bit better warning about proximity of enemy. Now it was mostly: "Oh you are dead". Alternatively, the enemy could drain your power rather than instant kill. So you would survive first attack by shining on the enemy, but then you'd have to be really careful not running out of power.

Very nice game. Great job of creating a creepy atmosphere, I was definitely engaged and felt my heart race a bit. I played for a while but didn't end up beating it - my main criticism would be that it felt a bit repetitive. Still, definitely an impressive and unique game - great use of the theme as well!

meta-link 2017-08-06 10:56

Classic concept, but the game is great, good job !

karreg 2017-08-07 15:57

Woaw ! very very scary ! :D The game is really cool ! To criticize : the monster is poping too closely to the player, and the collision with him is approximate, so sometimes I was going ahead and cross the monster without having any time to avoid him. Thank you for this creepy moment :D

elmismopancho 2017-08-08 01:48

Well done, the game is scary and the monster startled me a couple of times. One thing that made no sense to me is, if you can scare the monster with light, why it is able to enter the spaces with light?

raaaahman 2017-08-08 05:46

@local-minimum, that could be an idea, but tying power to robot survival would mean that you could kill yourself by using your lamp too much... which is silly, but fun! :)

@karreg I don't believe the collision is approximate, but the monster image is a little oversized compared to the physical space it occupies, it is a little trick to make it more scary, but maybe it gets confusing.

@elmismopancho You've seen in a lit space? If so, it is clearly a bug...

will-walters 2017-08-08 06:22

The first time the monster yelled scared the shit out of me. I liked using exploration to distract the player to get them set up for the scares.

tjakka5 2017-08-08 22:25

I clicked away from the window and the game wouldn't play no more ,-,

The flashlight feels very nice to use, the roboter with 4 dedicated sausages ontop can only move on the grid of squares. The maze feels rather large, i didn't get too far before getting killed...again and again.

The monster is actually rather fearsome when it appears.

The artstyle is, let's say functional, although those sausages confuse me a bit.

The sound effects work really well, some are a bit loud and it would have been nice to have the engine maybe fade out a little bit, since it sounds a bit choppy right now.

There is no music, a little ambience would have been nice to further set the mood and fill in the gaps.

Overall, it's fun...although i couldn't figure out how to scare away the monster

olmes-daravina 2017-08-09 22:48

Good game a very creative idea considering the theme, the gameplay and the controls made me good.

knarfux 2017-08-10 16:36

Really cool game, the monster really surprise me the first time xD With a little ambient music, the game could really have an oppressive atmosphere.

raaaahman 2017-08-10 18:17

@tjakka5

> The artstyle is, let’s say functional, although those sausages confuse me a bit.

 Now you know why the monster is chasing you!

To scare the monster you need to direct your flashlight on it, he also avoids lit spaces.

tmpxyz 2017-08-11 02:12

Weird, I was stuck at the start, cannot move, no enemy incoming. Can only rotate light with mouse.

klianc09 2017-08-11 15:57

This legitimately scared me! I was missing some dramatic death sequence, instead of the player just vanishing. Also the monster got me when I was standing on the edge of the safe zone. Some hints would be cool, like this I was basically just walking around randomly.

ouichesdoctor 2017-08-14 17:02

First time I saw the monster, I just jumped of my chair. Didn't expect it and insta-died in the second. Maybe a bit too fast to die, the light isn't powerful enough to repel the monster when it is that close. Graphics are decent but controls are a bit too harsh. Overall, good work ^^
