Nice game! I love the mousetraps. The cat sound rules.

haha this is a fun little game

Very polished! Fun, and I really like the animation of the mouse trap

The movement feels responsive, the mouse animations are really cute. The cat paw concept is adorable, and the chonky cat when you die is hilarious. I also really like the floor transition animation. I think the icing on the cake is the clever name. I'm a sucker for a good play on words. Great job!!

A super cute idea! I really liked the art here, and the sound effects are absolutely well done, it makes everything feel a little bit more alive. I really like how juicy and fast the sound of the mouse traps, make passing through them really attractful even with the danger of getting smashed XD the same thing for the cat paws.

I think the levels repeting over and over is a little bit sad, though i understand this feels more like the how deep you can get kinda of game, so to me is okay! I got almost to the 30 until I got caught in a mousetrap (that i couldnt resist to try).

Really cool entry, good work! :)

I loved the visuals and presentation of the game. It plays well. Wish there were more levels and maybe some kind of difficulty progression (maybe the spotlight where cat's paw spawns could start moving once you reach specific depth, for example). But overall, well done!

This was cute and surprisingly funny! I enjoyed walking around as a sassy looking mouse, it felt great stealing cheese from the traps, and the art for the cat that kills you made me absolutely crack up.

I played your game on my stream, here is a link to the timestamp on youtube: `https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uvsTk0plS4&t=4381s`

Funny game, I like how it's a good take on the theme but also quite distinct. The main things I'd say for additions would be more level variety and something from feeding the other mouse the cheese (also some of the objects in the top-right levels 4 and 5, and all other rooms of that layout, you seem to be able to walk behind and I don't know if that's intended layering or not)

natalia2208 2025-04-13 07:54

Cute game

winniehell 2025-04-13 11:47

I liked the game and it also fit the theme in a unique way. for me most of the cheese was very easy to get but then I always died when getting too close to a trap.

winniehell 2025-04-13 11:50

a tiny thing: there seems to be a bug with the z-index for some boxes:

mouse in front of a box

mouse partially covered by the same box

sandra-lin 2025-04-15 07:10

I like how you can lose health through mousetraps and the cat. The levels repeat so I assume there's no ending. Pretty smooth experience though, would love to see more features!

color-and-form 2025-04-15 09:53

your game is Cool cheese!

someone 2025-04-15 23:32

Cheeese! The cat was great, and I liked that you could snag the cheese from the traps if you were careful. Some end state or goal would have been nice, I'm assuming there wasn't one since the levels looped.

lllarso 2025-04-16 09:47

Cute little game. The overall graphics looked good.

Level design could be more challenging, especially because you can "dodge" the traps if your fast enough. Maybe adding a time based obstacle would be good. The cat paw could be used for that.

The mouse looked very good. I liked the walking animation of the mouse very much, so that I kept walking against a wall to see it. :D

I gave all the cheese away, not sure what it supposed to give, but I had no apparent use for it anyway apart from it representing my score and I am assuming levels are infinite.

The game is pretty cute and well done, art is pleasant and I encountered no bugs apart from slightly weird collision boxes that didn't always made it clear where you can pass and where you can't.

Well done!

I love the transitions between each level. But I only play for a few minutes, there dosen't seems to be an end or a score board with this game.

slava-che 2025-04-20 17:15

Cute game, but felt not challenging.

fraanns 2025-04-24 18:21

Very polished small cute game.

kristinamay 2025-04-24 19:27

A simple little game that had nice art and felt good to control - I was sad that the levels repeated but also I totally get it! I fed my son all of my cheese and then ran into a mouse trap to see what would happen. Hungry son, hungry cat. Thanks for the giggles!

papaver 2025-04-25 11:42

Cute game  Hehe, the mouse is walking upright, nice animation!

It was exciting to walk over the mouse trap, to see what it does, and noticing I was just fast enough :D But not always? Sometimes the z-values were a bit mixed up. With the boxes I expected a different hitbox, so that I could walk behind them.

I was a bit confused if there was an end to the game. I looped through the levels a few times, and also fed quite some cheese to the other mouse.

Overall, well done! :D

alchemic 2025-04-25 21:51

A bit simple and repetitive, but it's very cute!

nbumgardner 2025-04-30 02:21

Thank you everyone for playing and the feedback! We had a fun time putting the pieces of the game together while working in a new team and focusing on immersing the player in the mousey experience.

@Uzpykes nice moving spotlight idea. It could add some extra challenge while reusing art.

@winniehell thanks for pointing out the z-axis layering bug. It was my mistake while making the levels on the last day.

I am glad the repeating levels weren't too hard to beat so that players could get to see everything we made. I also agree more variety or a clear finish would be helpful to add to reward players for reaching the end. Speaking of endings, all 3 of our team members contributed to the game over background art; the sketch, cutting it out, and coloring it in.
