Nice one! The game is good, you should a progress bar or countdown for the army approaching, so the player knows how much time is left. Otherwise that, good job! :v:

The alien didn't break through the doors after several minutes.
Great idea. I agree with the idea of a progress bar so you know how long you will be waiting besides that really creative!
It's tough to keep those aliens out once they break through the walls. I wish I had a way to push a block, in addition to just pulling it - though I understand if the pulling part was the core part of your intended gameplay.
Only being able to pull made if very difficult to position the blocks close enough to the entries to stop the aliens from coming in. More feedback about what's happening would also help the player understand what's happening. Health bars on the objects and a countdown timer for how long you need to survive would have been very helpful. At first I thought the game was broken when all the aliens were bunching up at the entries and not breaking through.
yea I ran out of time actually. if I had more time then I would have definitely added a timer/progress bar of a sort, and I had a lot of ideas but basically could not make it in time. Thanks for the feedback!
Fun game! Really loved the puzzles, although I kind of hope the rope movement would be a bit more fluid and responsive. Graphics were good too, for a compo game. Good job :D
This is a creepy game! I'm not sure if pulling is the best action to move objects against the wall... I guess that makes it interesting? This felt like a game where you can never reach the state where you are satisfied as a player... Graphics are nice, but I wish the boxes were drawn too.
I like the artwork for the aliens and the music. The intro really needs an option to skip or speed it up. The idea of only being able to pull objects is interesting, but I very quickly trapped myself by accident. I wonder if there's something you could add so people can escape those situations? Nice job on the game!
@elimarable Yes there's already a button on the top right corner of the screen, it basically resets your position. I forgot to mention that actually. Also the game really needs a skip option. Thanks for the feedback!
@zlitch Oh I see, I think the buttons were cut off on my screen because there was part of a button saying "T" in the top left that brought me back to the main menu when I clicked on it. I'm not sure why it got cut off; I was playing the web version on Itch.
Idea is great, although would be nice to be able to push the blocks a bit as well to better block the entrances. Also sometimes the aliens glitched through the doors. Good job!
This is pretty much exactly the game I wanted to make for LD50, but couldn't quite manage! It's great to see that somebody else not only ran with the whole "drag stuff around to form barricades" idea but managed to execute it well. I ultimately ended up doing something similar (still avoiding a horde of enemies, still primarily by dragging obstacles) but much less strategic. I like how much time this one gives you to to try and seal off the entrances: it's much more about crafting a solid barricade and much less about frantically running around away from enemies (though I did end up doing that towards the end).
There's really not a whole lot I'd like to see done differently. Other people have mentioned wanting to be able to push the blocks, but I quite like that having to leave space for your character on the "pull" side prevents you from forming perfectly neat barriers. Okay, it doesn't make a lot of sense but it strikes me as being a little like the convention that tower defence games will never allow you to block off every enemy path: I buy it as a game mechanic even if it strains suspension of disbelief in terms of the physics involved. Having draggable objects (tables, boxes, whatever) rather than just coloured blocks would also be nice, but in 48 hours I think the game is the most important thing and you've really nailed that.
My only real complaint is that after a couple of upgrades, the distance at which you have to pull a block seems to become significantly greater than the distance at which you can attach the rope. Dragging something, having it disconnect, and then having to run back towards it to have another go becomes a little frustrating, especially if the aliens are already pouring into the room. Even that's kind of a minor quibble, though: I think this is my favourite game from the jam so far!
Very nice entry, here are some thoughts - the rope mechanic is nicely executed - very nice graphics - didnt like how long I had to wait for doors to open, at first I thought something didnt work, a timer would fix it - some aliens clipped through the walls
interesting gameplay! I found it hard to go past the second level though. :see_no_evil:
Cool idea and nice art style. I think the game needs some feedback for a player: how much HP doors have and how much time is left until next level. With only pulling objects, it is hard to position them. Since you want your main mechanic to be a rope, then maybe add ability to push objects, but with much slower speed. That way, the player would pull the object close to the door quickly and then push them slowly to the more accurate position. Anyway, nice game.
@damonwakes really interesting to see someone with the same idea as mine. Yea I did not think about the push mechanic, since I only had pulling from the very beginning, and 48 hours is little too hard to fit everything in, my only goal in the end was to give some player feedback, but designing levels and doing the background art really took a lot of time. Yea it's actually a house and its suppose to have cupboards, tables and stuff but I did not get time to finish it as the game itself took long to finish. Really thank you for the comment and feedback!
@zimny11 Yes, I was planning to show how much HP the objects and doors had, but was not able to finish it in time. I thought pushing objects would break the challenge of the game since it will become too easy to play, but your idea is also interesting. Thanks for the feedback!
