If found the FOV mechanics really cool.
Really good game, bruh! Graphics reminded me of limbo and the game mechanics of element4l. What a fine combination! Some sections in the level I found too hard, but it's feasible. And for the beautiful ending it is defintely worth it! Also love the physics, well done!
Only could have used a little more sound effects, but no problem :)
Very nice innovative idea. So simple and yet so much fun to play. Maybe you could extend it further!
Keep it up!
Man, you really wrote this in C. fab! :D And you used SFML? Cool!
This spectrum graph is awesome and of course the music!!!
But could you please add a more comfortable key assignment? like WASD or Arrow Keys?
And could you please in addition for the Linux version add a launcher-script, that sets the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the current directory?
Nice one, creative idea with the graphics, also cool self-recorded sounds (?) especially the music has catched me.
Yet needs more levels, more diff. items and more interacting mobs.
Keep it up! :)
This idea is hilarious :D
Also cool gfx, peoples look when they are angry or fighting xD
But somehow a bit hard to manage the satisfaction of my visitors, I can't read the messages so fast while also keeping the business running.
Awesome man. That game gave me fun. Will play it again. I'm pleased you also wrote a game in JS. But, hey, did you just use HTML divs for all the graphics? :D
I can haz source code to watch?
Only thing that would make it even greater: sounds ;)
Wow, really heavy-harded now. :( regards to this minimalistic but artistic idea. Are these your own guitar ending-tunes there?
You created another fine game here my fellow. The swarming of the litte Mars hover cat guys make me happy and remind me of settlers :D .
Maybe to further improve it you could visually distinct the buildings more in color and shape and animate the minions tools/weapons while they use it. Anyway: nice game and Im pleased you came over to us jamming and having a great time.
I could pee my pants for this idea. xD Very imaginative beeing the room, not beeing IN the room. Great physics.
8.8m :)
I'm shooting the pixels my enemies are made of, really cool idea! Simple graphics but neat. Makes a lot of fun. However I don't understand why enemies sometimes stop to shoot for a long time.
Really innovative. I like this kind of game where you have to program bots to accomplish tasks. Unfortunately feels a bit immature. I had problems with the shortcuts Ctrl+T and Esc which where caught by my browser (Event.preventDefault())
Not bad. Maybe way to simple. But the room rotation is a nice idea. Maybe you could just change the falling physics to be accelerating, add more levels and difficulties.
Man, my girlfriend went aggressive while playing it :/ Nice graphics, but maybe a little to hard for the beginning.
Really fun and swift game. Nice job!
Good idea, really addictive. I also like the swarming aspect. Also really cool that you used divs for game graphics :D
I lived 54 days until I died of sickness due to I forget to poop xD . had a extremely expensive bed, fridge and PC but FORGOT TO F**ING POOP xD
Very funny and addicting game!!!
Just more sounds would give it the final touch.
Hello @ all. Thanks alot so far for your reviews. I know there are some serious performance issues in this game its source I couldnt figure out so far :( But at least I will limit the count of animals when I have time so that the screen doesn't overcrowd that fast.
There is a good chance no lags will appear when played in the iframe of this page.
@sP0CkEr2: If you would've tested my game for just more than 10 seconds you'd probably notice the "watering" button in the upper left corner. ;) The cats are awesome! Deal with it! Also: try your browsers native zoom function which works just fine with this game.
Sophisticated strategy game, but I really missed some explanation about the different buildings I found out over the screenshots :D
Really juicy and cute graphics especially the parallax scrolling wavy blue water, the different weather effects look beautiful. Nice and simple concept, but a bit hard at the end and tiring to always press some key...
Fine game, fella. The voice over is really awesome as already said. It's true! Believe me! And the zenpassana meditation (TM) ... I already use it successfully in my every day life ^v^ Helped me learning to type even more faster. Thanks for that! My gf likes your game too, but she sucked up at the gameplay. The music kinda electro dance music reminded me of a special track from Haken ;) Also I like the story of your game, as always with a lot of fantasy and humor! Please never let us stop to jam together! Its always fun
I only get a purple screen with the linux version :( cellbattles.png
Really cool and interesting game play the robots abilities and the radiation sources add to the game. Just wondering how long timmy would continue to live after I rescued him. xD No, this is really a good quality work you delivered here :D Nice one!
Very funny and cool game concept. But maybe to bad balanced. Look at this: Bildschirmfoto vom 2017-08-04 23-04-45s.png Sooooooo many bunnies. Really humpy, huh? :D
I like your intro and the gameplay is very interesting. I didn't managed it, but it was fun to play.
Good work! :)
Nice game, but reading so much newspaper was a bit tedious. Would be great for some more obvious indicator that immediately displays whats going on in your energy park. The graphics style I really loved. Low poly, fine shaders, beautiful!
These wobbly bot physics feels funny. I like your game, but I guess it needs some practice to manage the controlling.
I like the audio. Was fun to play and the graphics reminds me of Pokemon :D
Nice and simple game! I like it :)
Not bad, a bit strange I dont get hurt when running through the lava :D
I'm really astonished you made this whole game in POC (plain old C) What are you using LUA scripts for? (I couldn't figure that out froom your source code) Also really cool how you switch to fullscreen mode with a lower resolution und give the whole thing a retro look :D while still frightening the player. But: I really sucked at your game and couldn't survive the first wave of flying heads. (Creepy!)
btw: are you really RMS? :D
Good and quick game. I instantly had fun and knew how to play :) Feels very reactive!
Somehow reminded me of this: trex-chrome-game.png :) Its so romantic I have to kiss my kitty after this! *^_^* Good taste'o music! Nice work!
Spooky atmosphere you created with V-Empire, I enjoyed playing it!
Hi there, glad you made your first game jam entry :)
Somehow a mix of puzzle and adventure (of love ^^) I love your game its somehow addictive and funny: the only world where an old man (113) with enough knowledge (not much money) can have a young girl (30) <3 <3 <3 Nice work!
Really humorous and fun reprocessing of the old classics :D The fading of your battery power gives the whole thing a thrilling component. Good work!
Wow, that is a innovative. Fine minimalistic retro style and great level design!
Cute graphics and I like the background music. But where am I "running out of power"? Is the hamster going to fall out of his wheel when exhausted?
Really adorable and moody graphics! But unfortunately not much to do in your game and to easy to win :/
I peed my pants already at the intro. xD My girlfriend thought she had to control the farmers, then we realized... We are the UFO. The controls are not so good for one player. But together it is a lot of fun! Thank you for this hilarious game ^_^
3D jam games seem rare, so very nice to see one here :) Good concept, definitely a good base for more to come? Maybe more missions, more enemies, more gadgets for the bot? Programmability? I'm excited if you let this game grow :) I really enjoyed it and made it to the monolith ;)
The beautiful vector graphics and the relaxing music really hit me. I also reckon there is a sophisticated game concept inside. Seems a bit unresponsive yet. I need hints for what to do or where I can click so that something happens.
At first I thought I had to do something complicated but then... xD Really funny but also sad because a good abstraction of reality in a collection of rapid mini games. Nice job!
Also I'm glad that you built in brief instructions as spoken audio. Really cool!
Good work. Really sympathic to hear a spoken introduction, but it was a bit hard to understand due to the volume of the bg music.
Good concept, but game flow is a bit slow and I hat issues reading the text where the OK Button was over it in windowed mode and the batteries where already dicharging.
Interesting game concept, the lightnings are teasing. I needed some time to find out how to extend my life but that was the pleasure. Would be cool in addition if your work would be playable on the web :)
I liked how you flew away on the kickback of your firing. Physics felt funny. I also did a platformer with slidy physics. Good work for your 1st LD :)
Really cool game! It's for boys and girls :D I like your graphics and the story. Innovative, simple to play, a little tricky and funny to play :) Thanks for this interesting work!
I really like the idea with the voice commands, very innovative! What library/engine did you use for voice recognition?
Nice rudimentary strategy game. I really dig that kind of simplicity. Somehow odd but enjoyable fun. :) Would like to see a web based version.
Pretty cute graphics:) but unfortunately not much to do in this game :/
Hi there, funny clicker game, somehow oddly abstract. I always killed my slimes when I stomped to often with the castle.
Haha, here we go again :D
trex-chrome-game.png
The game mechanics are actually pretty good. Though The jump distance is damn long I can press "down" if I need to quickly go back to the ground. So its challenging but manageable. Also I like the brief explanation at the start: simple and clear. Of course your game could need a lot more polishing ;) I think you know that. But anyway: a good solid game!
Dear Mr. Erk bro! A little bit late but here we go:
Though I'm not that guy that loves reading all the time while playing games, your work really intrigued me. The main character Nosferatu quickly grows on you while playing, emits cute squeek sounds when clicked and seems to be very empathic with everyone that wants to be friends with him. Unusual but creative interpretation of the theme no stress no rush and a nice calming little black Tic Tac sandbox at the end.
One little problem I had last time playing: I couldn't trigger the ending dialogue anymore while collecting and throwing TicTacs around for a couple of time (also throwing at NoThIng). Thanks for this wonderful Jam weekend with you at my home place. As always: I enjoyed it a lot and hope you did as well!
This OS/game was just really really cool!!! Next step: Embed it in a real Live-Distro
The puzzles seem very sophisticated as if designing the levels was the most time consuming part instead of the game mechanics :D But I didnt see why I always needed to click on the singularity at first. Also some other baclground music would be good since the monotone background hum kind of mesmerized me. I sat for a while and solved all 21 levels, very challenging. Great game nonetheless!!
Thats a pity. The screens timelapse look interesting but I can't get it to run:

Linux Mint 19.1
Hey, could you please share the source code? I'm always interested in that kind of stuff, especially since I also made a voxel engine once in Javascript :3
Oh. My. Gosh. This game is so cute! :3 ME really like, Zoe is also cute. I love that you have built so many different dialogue threads and it feels like no answer is the wrong answer what I first thought. But any answer I give can lead in a different but positive direction. Cool!
@jimbly, @stonemonkeymark, @skyeward, @shrapx, @djee, @taddl, @dodelov, @esben-jensen, @erkberg Thank you all guys for your feedback :)
The still-standing axe sprite bug is now fixed. I developed with Chrome and tested it now with Firefox, all should be fine :D Thank you again for pointing me on that problem. Should have tested it before in the Firefox.
@taddl Just use the spacebar or WASD to walk/interact with objects OR build a raft on the water :) The music starts on user input intentionally because of the way browsers allow the
@jimbly: The performance problems also got optimized away recently. Just in case you want to give it another try ^_^
@esben-jensen Thank you for your praising words my friend! The speed mode is something I never consciously implemented. xD It's actually just the keydown event firing continously half a second after the first keydown event. :D But glad you like it...
@djee: I will give your game a try soon, looks interesting :)
@erkberg: :-* luv u!
"the ending looks a bit illogical."
There is nothing logical about eating crystals to regain color vision at all (except maybe if... the vision that I had to leave behind is crystallising in my mind)
@taddl
Hey again, thanks for your review, buddy! Changing the music with the colours sounds like a good idea. But yes, the music was composed shortly before submission ^^ no time was left :D
I also had in mind what you suggested bringing the respective colors back with the crystals. But at the time of submission the whole gfx was done with div elements and CSS filters, which only allowed a grayscale filter :D But now with canvas the doors are opened for this feature.
@captain-nakou @mrstari @blanky
Thank you guys as well ^_^ Glad you liked it!
@loveapplegames
Thanks you. Finding the axe and pickaxe should help you for always getting through the map. The final laser puzzle challenge can easily be solved when you see the colors again. Maybe find the receiver station and you will know what to do :)
@philomory
Wow, didn't expect someone to apply the effort and give such extended usability review. :) So a big Thanks to you, sir!
I also encountered that you can not perceive that there is water so easily until I animated it and gave it a minimal saturation when finding the first crystal. The order of the crystals is not important. Maybe it would be necessary to assign another key to build/interact what is in front of you. So you dont accidentally run and build before you even notice where you are xD
I formerly had in mind to develop a crafting system, so you need to build new tools. But my friend @erkberg discouraged me from that, since it wouldn't add any substantial joy to the game. But I already coded the nice durabilty bar, so I just left it in there, thats the story xD
I dont know how your game works, but it looks and sounds so epically retro C64 style. The soundtrack really catched me. So I just sat and listened for a while.
Meddl Loide, Servus! \m/ So this is a clicker strategy game where sheeps got to poop rainbows? I like it, its pretty calming and the music and environmental sounds give a nice mood to it. Nice simple gfx, solid! :)
Hey guys! Well, this game is addictive, theres no doubt. I know you put a lot of work developing the gigantic processing network. But still it feels really unpolished and more like a economy planning tool. :slight_frown: just some tips to improve: * sprites for each node (I know thats a tremendously huge piece of work now :D ) * group the ingredients nodes palette into types, the list gets to long * the ability to create custom blueprints to be instanciated later would be nice  Nonetheless a remarkable product
Found the repeatable world and incremental environment concepts are brilliant, the flat shaded low poly graphics just gorgeous, the animations cute and the sounds hilarious xD (so thats how a rushing squirrel sounds like) :3 Enjoyed it a lot!
The only drawback: The audio lags are brutal in the web version (didnt test the win version) Do you know why? Browser. Chromium 77
Whoa, that was awesome! Matter, planets, stars, black holes, gravity, space-time warping, the music that changed with your current universe just fits perfect! Although its more like a simulation than a game, but very cool!
Good strategy game. But very hard. Maybe give the spike trees more power and show a durability/health bar on each tree and the enemies. But I like it, great and funny idea.
Well, weird game, but somehow fun to play :) I always wondered how much of resources I need to build another piece of island.
Hey, I think the help screen is TL;DR for the first time. Better make an ingame tutorial that guides you through the game as you explore the dungeons. The raycasting ist super nice. But looks a bit incorrect at wall tiles.
@space-wumpus Anyway a fine and interesting, pretty advanced work for your first jam!
Hey. Though this one is not finished yet, it feels like a good starting base for a top down survival game or something. I also made random generated top down adventure a game with resource gathering. But you have some nice simplex noise map generation with bigger features, islands, shores and stuff. I like that.
Are you going to continue on this game?
Wow, really inventive puzzle game idea! LOL'd about the reference in the intro xD Though I couldn't pass the level with the 4 directions and the 2 growers and 2 shrinkers yet. But overall it feels really sophisticated and challenging so far. Amazing you did this all as a compo. :thumbsup_tone4: The audio effects sound a bit coarse for me :D maybe make them more decent.
I need to solve this...
PS: I made it to the end. Hope you're going to devleop it further. Really cool, keep it up!
Interesting physics engine :)
Wow, such a innovative idea, beautiful painting skills and stresslessness. :) Plus: the main character is cute!
Really good concept. I enjoyed it for a while. Feels rewarding to watch the A* algorithm find a better path when removing more and more blocks. Don't stop improving it further! Things that I find would be nice to have: * a tutorial/explanation at the beginning * zooming out * more colors with each higher level * joker blocks, surprise blocks dunno :)
I played it for a while, it was fun! I will try it again with building more intelligent mazes as you suggested. I also loved the confetti animation on game over, the PICO8 platform seems a nice choice here. One suggestion: maybe it would help if there is a sound-feedback when I hit the rhythm.
Really a beautiful game... *brrrmmeow* and scary *hisssss* I'm still playing it but already love it!
Dang, that seems like an interesting game, interesting to see the ecosystem react and develop with the actions you take. But you definetely should expand it, make it more graphical and self-explaining. Thumbs up for the cool idea!
Interesting concept. Nice work!
Really like the pixel graphics style, the moving star background. But I find it somewhat difficult to use the canon and a bit to slow, maybe a visualization hint for the ballistic curve could help. If you're afraid it would make it too easy, let the curve fade out from its start to end position! But all in all its a cool idea. What did you use? Plain Javascript?
lOl, hilarious plot killing guitarists with my keyboard skills. I love the idea. Improve it with better keyboard samples that can be achieved in the course of the game, also add other keyboard layout options, I have a german QUERTZ keyboard that twists Z <-> Y Maybe you could also add MIDI keyboard support. I think there is a Web API for that.
That made my day! Really hilarious!
Awesome idea and interesting implementation. Command line people might have a benefit here ;)
Hilarious idea: Shooting ingredients while they're dancing around me, lol ^^ But somehow I didn't get how to out the order together. A bit stressfull it is, but really funny idea and artwork.
Love the gfx style and the mood that arises with the shadow and the sound effects, but somehow I think the controls need getting used to.
