Doesn't work on a Mac :/
@anthonich did you try on browser? I'm looking into it... Thanks for letting me know!
Yes I tried on my browser @aviv-levy
@anthonich I just checked on mac on both Safari and Chrome and it works. I will check on another mac tomorrow. Does it show any message? Do you see anything? π
I LOVE IT! The sounds, the graphic with the scanline, and the facts scattered all over the levels! And it took me quite a while to figure it out.
AWESOME work.
@kultuk yay!! thanks :D Glad you love it!
Love this game, and the seventh level starts to use the brain, and very easy, very good idea
I love the cozy vibes! It's not a very original concept, but executed really well. The screen effect is a bit unnecessary and I wish I could turn it off. Music is not distracting. Puzzle design is good and I think there are enough levels for a jam game. Love the little facts about turtles too. Enjoyed it!
Simple and effective, well executed, very nice! :D
Great little puzzle mechanics. I like how much the turtle plays in to all of the different mechanics. And surprisingly deep with having to think about the arrow movement and carrots.
Fun sound effects and juice on the movement (especially liked the turtles popping out of the shell as it slides forward)
Really nice aesthetic.
Only complaint was that I was wanting an undo button a few times!
Cool sokoban game, cheers!
Such a cute game ! Loved it ! Well polished, level design are really cool ! I'm so jalouse because i can't design puzzle game ! So cool ! Also loved the trivia !
@gyrooo Thank you! Glad you love the game :D
@bauke-regnerus Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! you can turn it off by pressing 'C' btw. I know some people don't like the CRT effect that's why I added the option to disable it. Maybe I should've also added an in-game button prompt for that π¬
@magalix Thank you!
@keely-brown Thank you! I actually started working on the undo button but I didn't have enough time for that, and I prioritized making levels. It's a shame because an undo button is a must in such a game imo. Oh well
@namnam Thank you! Puzzle games are tough to make! I made a few puzzle games before so I'm a bit accustomed to crafting levels for them, etc. You should definitely give it go! Maybe in a non-jam environment. You can do it!! :D
Damn! Those puzzles are hard, and the art is so great!
Really impressive game!
Love the idea, it's so cute! :turtle:
Amazing sokoban puzzles, I like the twist of our turtle not able to go backward. It feels like some SNES game, the whole vibe of the game is cute and cozy.
nicely done, great ux
@denzel Thank you! Yeah, the difficulty curve could be a bit smoother too..
@nishikku πThanks!
@rongon Cool! Thanks! I love retro games so I'm glad to see this is the vibe you got. I usually make dark games so this time I decided to challenge myself and make something cozy
@handsomeshan thanks, in jam 53 I made a game without an in-game tutorial and controls and it's something I knew I'm not skipping this time. I'm glad I didn't!
This was really fun and got pretty challenging. I couldn't work out for the longest time how to get the right turtle on level 15 towards the middle. The minimal art style with subtle animations really worked well.
@chybby - happy to hear you enjoyed the game! This one is a bit tricky.
**spoiler:** you need to get the right turtle to the top then use it to block the left turtle in order to reach both carrots! I will probably add a video with solutions to all levels soon as well
This was fun, I got a bit stuck but I'm not the best with puzzle games - I can understand why it's not there but I could've used an undo button . I liked the art style and the fun facts about turtles
@peremily yeah, I published the game knowing 100% that I'll get feedback on the missing undo button. I wonder if it's something I could add in an update, or if that's against the rules, because most of the code for it is ready and it's a shame. Glad you enjoyed the game :D
What a great puzzle game! You did that alone? That's super impressive! Great art, music and turtles. I finished all 17 levels, they were very fun and challenging!
great puzzle game, really difficult any levels, I like it a lot, I feel it like my childhood games!
Well done, take a candy! :candy:
@brusi Thanks! And yeah, did it myself. It was very challenging, I'm really glad I pushed through! π Happy you had fun!
@hagamosvideojuegos Thanks for the candy! I needed it. I hope it's not licorice π Glad my game invoked childhood memories!
My brain isn't wired up for these type of puzzle games but I had a blast playing anyways! I did up getting stuck on level 9 and had to cheat by watching the promo gif here but don't tell anyone... Lots of fun! Great work on the game!
@logan-core don't worry, your secret stays with me! π€ Understandable. Glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for playing :)
Fantastic game, I played through to the end. I think my favorite levels were 9 (though now that I'm seeing the gif, I think I got an unintended solution, I'll post it below), 14, and 16. I loved the game so much that I'd like to nitpick a few things. I think level 2 should have the shell be pushed in a different direction than its arrow to make the tutorialization a bit clearer. Inputs being dropped during animations meant I somewhat frequently found myself accidentally making wrong moves, which was especially punishing for this set of mechanics. The puzzles were also elaborate enough that I really wanted an undo button. Again, loved the game, incredible job!

@stevenjmiller Hi, really happy to hear you love the game :)
**Level 9** - That solution was indeed uninteded. One of my friends who playtested the game managed to solve it that way so I was aware of it. I decided to leave it in since it still teaches you a similar lesson. I prefer the levels having one solution, but I discovered this one a bit too late. Level 11 could also be solved in multiple ways..
**Level2** - Oh, that makes more sense. Good call!
**Inputs** - Yeah, I get that. Happened to me too. Do you think there's something I can do to improve this? I don't want the player to move while things are happening on the board obviously..
**Undo button** - the code for it is actually almost done, it's a shame I didn't manage to finish that, because this game really needs this feature! I published the game fully knowing this will be a pain point. π
Thanks for the feedback!
@aviv-levy I think having some sort of animation cancelling (even just teleporting objects to their destination if another input is given) or input queue is a pretty common fix, though I wouldn't expect either in a jam game (I'm honestly usually pretty lazy about input handling myself). I think A Monster's Expedition has the best input system I've seen in a puzzle game if you want a good reference, though again, definitely not viable to do under a strict time limit. I think having an undo is a good enough fix.
Really fun puzzle game, cute art, and i like the turtle facts too!
awersome art and also great instruction! got so much fun playing it!
@stevenjmiller π Will check Monster's Expeditiion. Undo is probably the easiest to implement in a short time, yeah.
@raassh23 Glad you enjoyed the game ^_^
@polinachrr thank you! It was really important for me to add in-game instructions in this jam, happy it made your experience better!
I played through the first 11 levels, but I think the difficulty was perfect, I just don't have the time to play all of them  . I loved it! Very nice graphics, beautiful music and well designed levels. If I had to add something, it would be an undo button. very nice entry!
Very fun and challenging game. I love the music and the art!
Pretty classic game but very well executed!
Nice twist on the sokoban genre!
Lovely little sokoban mechanics. Really enjoyed the art, the puzzles are great but certainly got tricky quick! Satisfying game, well done!
Very nice twist on Sokoban, loved it alot! Surprisingly challenging. Core tortile mechanic is very cool, never seen it enywhere before, have so much potential!
:) Very fun and very cute! And great puns. Really nice puzzle designs! And sooooo many levels! I'm impressed.
Lovely puzzle game! I think it was just the right length where the moment I felt like moving on and decided to check how long the game was, I was already on the last level. :D Of course, had it introduced new mechanics the interest would have been prolonged further, but the pace that things were introduced felt natural. Were the levels hand-designed, or generated somehow?

Wow, really cool mechanics, and clever level design!
I was afraid to play yet another sokoban clone, but I was delighted to see it wasn't the case. The game is well polished, the visuals are consistent ... and I really like the music! it repeats, but it's not boring, it's relaxing and soothing! I'm listening to it while typing .... a perfect ambience of sleepy turtles! :D
Nice puzzles and many for a jam congrats, it would be nice to have a "game over screen" when you get stuck and can't move out, also the CRT adds a nice touch
Dammit, I'm stuck at lvl 17. I feel like most puzzle games are way too easy (having only one layer of "puzzleness" for each mechanic), here it's quite smart, and the fact that you cannot go back also really makes it fit into the theme. Also, I love puns, I'm a pun guy, so you got me there.
Level 11 stumped me, unfortunately, but I loved everything about this game! I just think it introduced mechanics too quickly, for example, by the time a level needed the "carrots stop turtles" mechanic to be used, I'd already forgotten about it and was left stumped for a bit until it happened and I was like *"OH."*
The graphics are comfy, as is the music, I loved the turtle facts.
Lovely entry!
YES!! Made it to the end!! I spent as much time solving level 17 than the rest of the game
Nice sokoban game with a fun central mechanic and some great puzzles! In particular, the ability to use turtles to block other turtles was what made this game work. Levels 11, 14, and 17 were my favorite.
Some Qol notes: An undo feature would have been very welcome. In level 17 especially, I constantly inputted a control wrong and had to restart the sequence of moves completely. Also, if you have a forced delay between inputs, it's best to let the player hold down the key to perform the action repeatedly.
But overall I enjoyed this. Great work!
Loved this game, the puzzles got super complicated towards the end but still loved it. Kept forgetting the turtle couldn't reverse but the game made me determined to finish all the levels.
Thanks to everyone above for the kind words and feedback!
@meep - yeah, I designed the levels on the third day. That made up almost the entire work of that day. I would've loved the add new mechanics and had a few ideas, but I stored those for a possible post-jam version because I barely had any time left lol
@catusfelony - noted, if I make a post-jam version I'll definitely be doing changes to that.
@ace17 - sorry about level 17, it's really tough XD Glad you beat it!!
@zungryware - I'll definitely be adding the undo button (which I almost finished but had to scrap due to time limits) to a post-jam version if I make it. I'll also improve the input of course. :)
@shmi - a possible solution to that would be to make an icon or something that appears if the player attempts to move in reverse too much, maybe even accompanied by a sound an a screenshake.
Great game! very relaxing and I loved the constraint of being able to only turn in 90 degrees. Great job!
great level design, I had lots of fun playing this! also the game feels very polished, I'll definitely revisit this if there is a post-jam version
Great puzzle with a relatively hardcore difficulty curve. Level 17 really took me a while to solve. About half of the remaining levels were hard levels.
One thing I am wondering is: how long did it take you to design each level? Because our game is also puzzle, it took us about 0.5-1h to design easy levels, 1-3h to design hard levels. We felt those hard ones were much more time-consuming. Also, would you mind sharing how you drew to design each level? We used excel to draw. We feel it's convenient but wonder if there are any better ways.
Overall it's a really fun and challenging puzzle, one of my favorite ones. I loved the turtle facts, too :D
@jamesw level 17 is really difficult. There probably should've been at least 5 levels before that to justifiy its difficutly. π
I made the levels in the editor without drawing on paper or using other software. My level making process is a bit chaotic -- I throw stuff at the board and do a lot of play tests to see what sticks, then the concepts start to emerge on their own. I spent a few hours in total working on most of the levels, and about an hour on level 17 which was the most difficult to create. After that I tested the levels with friends and made some tweaks.
Happy to hear you liked the game! Cheers π
Right, I almost forgot those introductory levels! π
I really appreciate it that you shared the process you made these levels! One hour was not too long for a most difficult level. We spent over two hours for our most difficult level but it's still not that difficult. You have a really great talent for making puzzles. Thanks for making this game!
@jamesw thank you! I think it really depends on the complexity of the puzzles. For one of my other puzzles game, the toughest part was to come up with challenging levels, I was so frustrated I felt like giving up! Also, yeah, the introductory levels shouldn't really be considered levels tbh π
Simple game and I enjoyed it. I guess gameplay-wise I didn't really think too much, I just move stuff and it was kinda relaxing. And of course it gets more difficult later on that my I had to think a little more. Well done on the level progression, it's quite good!
I liked the puns and little turtle facts a lot :) Got stuck on lvl 11, 14 and 17 so I enjoyed that you could choose levels straight from the menu. The screen effect was a bit distracting and I don't think it's really necessary. The mechanics were introduced very smoothly. Altogether I got pretty hooked and spent a long time!
@konfekt Glad you enjoyed the game! I may have needed to add a visual marker for that, but you can toggle the crt effect by pressing 'c'.
Tricky! I made it to level 14. I think level 7 was the first difficulty spike. The way that turtles slide around makes this feel quite different from other block-pushing puzzle games. I do wonder a little bit why the orange turtle is not able to eat carrots.
Very nice game. Im not sure why there were scanlines, but the game is fun, fits the theme, has nice puzzles and good music. Well done.
Great puzzle and cute turtles, cool to see so many different takes with this theme using puzzles ;)
Levels 14 and 17 really got me hanging a long time. I am glad I checked back here to find the "Disable CRT"-key during level 14 - made my eyes strain. Really loved the overall idea of your puzzle mechanic. I agree with some other people here, that it was annoying that inputs were ignored during animation.
All in all really great puzzle game!

Like the graphics, didn't mind the scanlines, you were going for a retro look I feel. Difficulty ramped up quite quick. Yeah, just well polished complete game. Can't think of a complaint.
Untitled.png Great game, I love it puzzles!
A novel take on Sokoban.
Wow, what an incredible game; it's one of my favorites of this jam. The satisfaction I got from beating level 11 felt like beating a final boss...only to discover I had 6 more levels afterwards haha. I enjoyed the introduction of the "arrow change" mechanic to keep things fresh as well. I do think the tutorial levels could have been improved a bit, as some were almost too intuitive, if that's possible. I would try to experiment with the instructions and mechanics, only to accidentally solve the level without really being given time to process the lessons I was meant to learn. Perhaps having progression to the next level be manual instead of automatic would help with this? Still, the gameplay is pretty simple so even learning it down the road wasn't difficult. Finally, the unsung (pun intended) hero of this game is the music. Such a catchy tune, I really loved it.
Nice job! Good use of theme.
